- RoroCo, on 06/25/2009, -2/+26I hope the Trunk Monkey is OK. I heard they are standard on the Optra's.
- Teh1337Pirate, on 06/25/2009, -2/+24What kind of dumb ass city has cars driving in the middle of a bicycle race?
- Bluerayusa, on 06/25/2009, -0/+18What the hell are cars doing in middle of bicycle race? hope guy is ok since i can relate.. (as i sit here in a cast in front of computer recovering from recent bicycle/car accident)
- buzznjackal, on 06/25/2009, -0/+16I agree with the video's commentator when he said "hijo de puta, mueve el carro"
- kungfool101, on 06/25/2009, -0/+14I hope so too?
- MisterFurious, on 06/25/2009, -0/+13Let's ask Isaac Newton.
- borez, on 06/25/2009, -1/+14I can't believe the amount of damage to the car, hope the cyclist was OK?
- inactive, on 06/25/2009, -1/+13What a dick - you drive thru a bicycle race and then act surprised when a bike hits you. I like how the cop seemed to be telling him to GTFO at the end.
- ftc08, on 06/25/2009, -0/+11I like how the driver gets out and freaks out about the damage to the car, not worrying about the dude who just slammed into it.
- Alli3388, on 06/25/2009, -0/+8Why does that road seem to be open to traffic???? If you can't even manage that, then don't have a bike race!!!
- TrevorBradley, on 06/25/2009, -0/+8That's what she said!
- Princeamor, on 06/25/2009, -0/+7move the car son of a bitch
- evil-doer, on 06/25/2009, -0/+6exactly. its a very thin road and theres cars on both sides with only a thin corridor in the middle to go through? wtf?
- AlanYuri, on 06/25/2009, -0/+5Because this particular cyclist was responsible for making sure the road was closed right? Not the race organizers or anyone else?
- edilclyde, on 06/25/2009, -0/+5Ay Puta!
- inactive, on 06/25/2009, -0/+4Optras are meant to withhold the 40 mile an hour impact of an almost naked cyclist.
that will buff right out. - ooMARLAoo, on 06/25/2009, -1/+5Because having cars on the road and people in the streets during a bicycle race is safe . . . That accident was prone to happen.
I thought the guy in the very beginning taking pictures was going to get hit. - borez, on 06/25/2009, -1/+5Well you know, the back end of a car is more important than human life.
/s - inactive, on 06/25/2009, -0/+4Do we have our punctuation mixed up!
- Bluesky0010, on 06/25/2009, -0/+4If that is the case, they need to figure a better way to have that kind of car in a race. This is ridiculous to have a car just sitting there like that while bicycles fly by down this not very wide road.
- Navicerts, on 06/25/2009, -0/+4I agree but it's odd, I guess it never occurred to them to close the road for the race.
- bigmahlman, on 06/25/2009, -1/+4prostitute's son, moves the car?
- bigpappapunk, on 06/25/2009, -0/+3I try to avoid stand still objects in my way while moving.....just saying.
- Teh1337Pirate, on 06/25/2009, -0/+3he did if you didn't see his legs out trying to stop and his arms griping bracing for impact.
- t0ny, on 06/25/2009, -0/+3WTF+
- Alli3388, on 06/25/2009, -1/+3Just a bunch of Mexicans yelling.
- Alli3388, on 06/25/2009, -0/+2How do you know?? Because that didn't SEEM like an escort car to me.
- MacBandit, on 06/25/2009, -0/+2No they cars like the Sport Ka and we get crap like the Grand Am.
- Navicerts, on 06/25/2009, -0/+2I lol'ed
- renanrrinaldi, on 06/25/2009, -0/+2Why!
- drazen77, on 06/26/2009, -0/+2Even if it were an escort car that was PARKED, that doesn't explain the car that was driving to the parked cars right, in the middle of cyclists... forcing them to move around the moving car (which ultimately pushed the cyclist into the parked car's path.
- amcnair, on 06/25/2009, -2/+4...and boom goes the dynamite.
- PhobosDeimos, on 07/03/2009, -0/+2What was that other driver doing, cutting the cyclists off? Talk about poor judgment.
- elwey, on 06/26/2009, -0/+1Sounds like Colombian accent
Definitely not in Mexico
Ayjueputa! - ben72227, on 06/25/2009, -2/+3I always found it strange that Europe got better looking American cars than America did lol! They get the Ford Fiesta and such, and we get junk like the Pontiac Aztek...
- trizzleatl, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1DAMN 3 minutes too late
- renanrrinaldi, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1No ABS!
- mparker21311, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1The guy in the beginning of the video looks like a grown version of this kid:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eepe9kNbgsE - snagglefoof, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1Did they say where this was or what race this is?
(I'm watching the video at work without sound.) - MacBandit, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1I guess not everyone watches professional bike races. I'll repeat myself.
It's an escort car. Since it doesn't have bicycles on top it's probably one of the few cars that contains local dignitaries and visiting V.I.P.s. - snagglefoof, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1Word.
- Snake777, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1The license plate on the car is definitely not Mexican. Mexico isn't the only country that speaks Spanish.
- Latigoliath, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1BOOM! Back in softice.
- tumbaba, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1Why did the spectators stand him up right after the crash? Did they expect him to hop back on the bike and keep racing?
- 83457, on 06/25/2009, -1/+1Oww
- pault107, on 06/25/2009, -1/+1My first car was a Fiesta (UK, 17 years ago) - it was the dogs bollocks:
http://www.techimo.com/photo/data/5/fiesta.JPG
That's not a photo of my car, but it was the same shape and it was beige with an orange aerial. I was so cool. - Betrayer, on 06/26/2009, -1/+140mph into a car is the same as getting hit at 40 standing in the road?.!,;:'
good thing he had a helmet on or he would be dead! - robEstyles, on 06/25/2009, -1/+1depends on the car
- MacBandit, on 06/25/2009, -1/+1It's an escort car. Since it doesn't have bicycles on top it's probably one of the few cars that contains local dignitaries and visiting V.I.P.s.
- MacBandit, on 06/26/2009, -2/+1I know because I watch a lot of bicycle racing and this sort of bicycle happens about once a year on closed courses. The V.I.P. car frequently gets in the way and the rider support car has to get through they can't just stop and block the race course. If they support car were to stop in a race on such a small street the entire team would be penalized.
Several years back a similar accident happened where Marco Pantoni went through the back window and all the way through and out the front window. A few years later he came back to win the Tour de France. -
