- beelz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+80who cares about the goal when saying "in your face" is so much better.
- neoncricket, on 10/12/2007, -2/+64You know, I thought the headline was probably an exaggeration; but after watching it, I think that just might be the best penalty kick ever.
- Soccer4786, on 10/12/2007, -0/+53how can you stage that? hard enough to bank it off a side into the goal, much less bit the goalie in the face.
- Renegade.eit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+47Headshot!
- pintomp3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+42nice block, a headbutt zidane would be proud of.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+37Someone needs to make a ytmnd techno mix of that camerman's laugh.
- Godel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+33@diggywiggit
It wasn't staged, but it didn't take place in a game either. People tape themselves like that to practice their form. - illu45, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26He probably would have scored on the rebound if he wasn't on the floor laughing :D
- giangsing7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23I think that was better than scoring haha.
- p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24Ouch - that looked like it resulted in a broken nose.
- 4Prophecy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24That's Nelson. ;)
- nickerbocker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20If you would stop thinking all videos are fake and staged you can see that the goalie starts to go to his right before the kick. He then turns to block it with his face.
- mike_p, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10i don't think they're pros, mate... it's a penalty kick! PKers lob them up the middle sometimes as well... you can never tell.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10milhouse? HA HA
- LucasVB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Hahaha, that happened to me once! My nose bleed a little... Ahh, good times
- LeFrenzy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7amazing goalkeeping. Cheers ;)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Same. I thought the guy would get hit in the nuts with the ball, and I'd be like "hehheh", but no. This is hillarious everytime i see it.
- Darth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6that made me laugh quite a bit.
- b-dizzle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Ahh, the price of becoming an internet celebrity.
- TheWestExit, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9The player who takes the PK cannot be the next person to touch the ball. If he would've kicked it in on the rebound, he would have to take it again. If he took the rebound and missed it would be a goal kick for the defense. It's a little known rule that hardly ever gets put into play.
- HRF1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I'm debating over if the Robert Pires/Thierry Henry penalty kick attempt during last years Manchester City match beats this one...
http://youtube.com/w/penalty-kick-failed-by-Robert-Pires?v=TpbTG_ka2bg&search=penalty - zzz@tkz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4A dupe!? On Digg!?! NO WAI
- dacheetah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4If thats staged it's even more impressive than if it isn't...
I challenge you to get anyone to reproduce that video. Managing to HIT the middle of the "pole" is hard enough off a penalty kick, getting it to hit exactly the right spot so that it will bounce into the goalies face, is not going to be terribly easy at all. I imagine that even the most professional players need ALOT of attempts to reproduce that, and I doubt you could afford his/her time. - kolavar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Your submit's title: "How to beat the keeper"
Help me, I'm being drowned in ambiguity.
No, seriously, that is an awfully confusing title, especially for those who aren't soccer fans (e.g. most Americans). - pimpsallad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3BOOM HEADSHOT!!
- RandomGuySteve, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Technically the goalie was the next person to touch the ball.
Or did you mean after the goalie? - tehINTERNETS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ok, this thread is dead but i couldn't resist the urge to comment it. :] it left me laughing ten minutes after i watched the actual video
- kingfoot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3you would be amazed at how strong the nose is though. and my guess is it hit more of the cheek/eye socket. anyone got a slab of meat?
- graystar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Luck it is.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2lmao @ the people saying "fake"..
If it was fake i would be far more impressed. - JamieThompson90, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2To prevent dupes make sure you use the source URL without the query string. Then digg can index the url and prevent dupes.
I read your post but I did not find it funny. - OropheR, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Sorry, but the ball has to pass the line, and it did not. So that is a definitly miss...And what a good goal keeper! He sacrificied his face to save his team!

http://tophomemortgageloan.com/ - sephiroth965, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That happened to me once; My vision was blurry for about two days. It happened with an really stiff old ball too. Ouch!
- q3ctf4, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5"Technically the goalie was the next person to touch the ball."
Look up the word "rebound". Things will make more sense after. - sabbac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice shot, doesn't matter if he scored, still funny. change your avatar, dome-rs don't appreciate the negative attitude.
- covertbadger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@TheWestExit
That only applies in a penalty shootout situation. If it's a penalty awarded during the game (for a foul in the penalty area) the penalty-taker is free to score from any rebound, regardless of whether anyone else has touched the ball. - rimz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you gotta love how the ball just rikoshays off the post and into the kids face!
- dlynrocks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i love his late reaction to move after the ball hits him in the face
- glecko, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3IT hit the goalie, he was the "next" player. If our penalty taker was able to get to the ball and able to attempt another shot and it went in, it would have counted.
- imightbewrong, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2easliy could have scored off the rebound , and that would be the best PK ever
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -1/+1@Soccer4786, obiously it wasn't staged, but Ronaldinho has the accuracy to be able to kick the ball from a great distance, have it bounce off the top bar, and come back straight to him.. several times...
http://youtube.com/watch?v=TaXzoXVvO6Y about half way thru the vid. - subscribtion, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2He caught it with his head. That was pretty impressive.

You're wrong, since the ball bounced off of the goalie he is permitted to kick it again. If the ball had hit the post and then hit no other player, as soon as he kicked it a second time the correct call would be an indirect free kick for what is commonly known as a "double touch." It makes sense if you think about it. I've been refferee'ing for 5 years. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1lol, that's a lot of a luck in that feet there man!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That was pretty funny. Easily one of the best falcons of all time!
