- kawasaki377, on 10/27/2009, -2/+489It's the Stig's Japanese Cousin.

It's off the charts Redneck. - mmpre, on 10/27/2009, -37/+335I watched it 5 times and have no idea what was cool. I obviously know nothing about drifting.
- JonTheGoose, on 10/27/2009, -1/+298Stigamoto
- stripesonfire, on 10/27/2009, -5/+248ITS OVER 9000 ASIAN!!!
- TurnipFarm, on 10/27/2009, -2/+188Damn, Gran Turismo's graphics are getting really insane. Pretty soon you won't be able to tell the difference between this and real life!
- bobo105, on 10/27/2009, -4/+184Hey, where's the blue power-slide boost?
- idiosyncrisia, on 10/27/2009, -1/+169He led into the drift with the rear of the car before the front. Normally the back doesn't kick out in front of the front wheels in the beginning of a drift.
At least that's what I got from the article. - digitalpencil, on 10/27/2009, -2/+168some say his waraji are made from titanium and his socks, carbon fiber.. all we know is, his name's スティグ.
- uptwolait, on 10/27/2009, -1/+161I'll bet she had similar commentary.
- consoneo, on 10/27/2009, -1/+157Somewhere on my other monitor
- ESixty, on 10/27/2009, -1/+145I could do it, I just don't want to
- tigerthekid, on 10/27/2009, -1/+122I was going to say, "Calm down Kanye." But that really was the best drift ever!
- tmanv, on 10/27/2009, -7/+125equally as entertaining:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pvvg2eecUI&fea ...
Came up in related videos for some reason - frequentFlyer, on 10/27/2009, -1/+117It's so Asian that even the Asians are saying "Damn, that's Asian!"
- Airforcefalco, on 10/27/2009, -2/+111Where is Godzilla on this scale?
- tinkafoo, on 10/27/2009, -3/+112Like the old Japanese proverb:
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" - muniom, on 10/27/2009, -2/+104Another angle here: http://www.rifft.net/?drift=vids_detail&tid=91 ...
Basically the driver put the car past the traditional point of 'spun-out' (90 degrees to the road), then 'caught' it before it lost all speed, and still poitioned the car within a few yards of the clipping point.
It's not the first time it's been done though, aussie driver and bmx pro Luke Fink did it a year or so ago in a 'big entry' comp in australia: http://www.rifft.net/?drift=vids_detail&tid=10 ... - BuckCynnie, on 10/27/2009, -5/+106Damn, I gotta learn Spanish! That sounded like fun!
- kmb1794, on 10/27/2009, -2/+97in the drifting world it's like anal.
- M3tALHaz3, on 10/27/2009, -1/+92And then raped by a blue shell and loses the race
- Zoplax, on 10/27/2009, -2/+91Banzai!!!
- mrgreenjeans, on 10/27/2009, -0/+81such a stoner thought
- inactive, on 10/27/2009, -5/+83Japanese people are so funny!
- stripesonfire, on 10/27/2009, -3/+80i wish i could digg that up again.
- Tollboi, on 10/27/2009, -0/+69If only this comment had been nearer the top. Regardless here is your internet.
- MaxxusFlamus, on 10/27/2009, -0/+68What's really amazing is the driver's view.
The way his hands and feet move it looks more like he's on a leisurely drive than driving ass backwards around a corner.
I'm pretty sure my hands would've been all over the place trying to do this, including the windshield wiper, turn signal, AC and radio. - YoshiG3, on 10/27/2009, -1/+68I ***** LOL'd so hard I had to stand up. ***** awesome.
- iparker, on 10/27/2009, -1/+67They're all yelling, Hyaku-ten! Hyaku-ten! Literally means, 100 points, but in this context.. Perfect score! Perfect!!
- thechilipepper0, on 10/27/2009, -1/+58right after the video cuts out he hits a banana
- jander86, on 10/27/2009, -5/+61Tires should have little tires all over them and at right angles, that way people could just drive sideways all the time.
- svendm, on 10/27/2009, -1/+57I'm partial to this here one.. being that the vehicle is about 60 tons heavier..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5aWAW2hea4 - UnholyLeech, on 10/27/2009, -11/+61It's cool because nobody here or there friends can do that.
- ar0ne, on 10/27/2009, -3/+52Youtube comment:
"If he drifted any harder, he would've entered the D Dimension!" - Zoshchenko, on 10/27/2009, -0/+47Obviously fake...the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car.
- cCPanda, on 10/27/2009, -0/+46 Only if I get to watch myself in third person.
- inactive, on 10/27/2009, -2/+46Thats how i enter the parking lot at work everyday.
- photochopped, on 10/27/2009, -6/+48I imagine they think the same of us when they watch scenes from Nascar.
- Sternology, on 10/27/2009, -4/+45Drift King: Do you know who I am, boy?
Shawn Boswell: You're like the Justin Timberlake of Japan. - TheAbsintheHare, on 10/27/2009, -0/+41I bet most gamers would drive better if their car was controlled with an analog stick.
- TheHerk, on 10/27/2009, -2/+42Or their friends friends for that matter.
- inactive, on 10/28/2009, -1/+38Drifting is considered cool because it's a theatrical way to pilot a car to maximize speed around tight turns. If you don't believe it actually makes the car faster in certain situations, watch some off-road rally races and watch what they do.
Drifting isn't as easy as pulling a hand brake and letting your car slide sideways. There are many ways to do it, but this particular way of actually maintaining control with the back of the car ahead of the front is pretty incredible.
Tanner Foust is a competitive drifter I know of, and I paraphrase him when I point out that the sport of drifting is about finesse and stylish driving. You impress the judges more the closer you come to disaster, while being in control of the vehicle and wooshing past the cameras.
This is cool to automotive enthusiasts. I think it's great stuff, personally. I won't tell you to like it, I'm just trying to show you why so many of us do.
Here's a video I like that pretty much sums up what they do:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkNzkutTiGs - skweetis, on 10/27/2009, -9/+45Dude, v-tech just kicked in!
- nattylife, on 10/27/2009, -0/+34i am asian, and yes. i did say that. well played
