- thepeacemaker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11By giving Zimbabwe a good hiding, Pakistan is handing their late coach a fitting tribute. He died doing what he loved. As of 12:30 CST: Pakistan score 269/5 (41 overs)
fyi, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricket - jambox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7When the news was on the radio, they said:
"Breaking news, Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer has just..."
And I shouted "RESIGNED!"
The radio presenter continued...
"sadly died".
I felt a bit guilty. - cinnix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"...say Jamaican Police say."
hehe :) - drewhenson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You thought wrong.
- excession, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7How is the Pakistan cricket coach obscure? If you knew ANYTHING about cricket you would know that Pakistan are one of the world's very best sides.
- hawk0168, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Hell, the Indian team wicketkeeper (catcher) had his mansion practically burned down by protesters after their team lost to neighboring Bangladesh. They're crazy about it over there.
At least they're about to beat Zimbabwe. Ireland future Cricket World Cup winners? - crazydiode, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3bookies who punted many millions on Paki team ???
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It'd better be.. Coz there are millions of dollars at stake here
- daridave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2stop thinking... it may help.
- 8177, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Let me be the first to say.
No ***** sherlock, of course its suspicious. - Trumpi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bob Woolmer was one of the greatest cricket coaches in my lifetime. And for him to have a suspicious death while at the Cricket World Cup -- I don't find that obscure at all.
- nisheeth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2First off, it wasn't his mansion, the protest was on a piece of land the govt had given him for his achievements. No one actually lived on that land. Second, no one burnt anything (except maybe him in effigy), and lastly there were like 15 people there, so please don't make it seem like there was a huge rioting crowd burning everything in their path.
- nighttrain2007, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4after Pakistan's World Cup loss to Ireland
Well there's your culprit right there....that'd be enough to send anybody over. - NasKa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hope not! Miss you Woolmer.
- yoble, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Nice indeed. Nothing particular, but still interesting for me.
- crazydiode, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2he died or killed ???
- raunak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0CRICKET IS JUST LIKE RELEGION IN INDIA SO THE INDIAN MOB CANNOT SEE ITS TEAM LOOSING SO THEY TURNED VIOLENT AND BURNT CRICKETERS'S POSTERS IDOLS AND PROTESTED AS IF THEY HAVE LOST A WAR
- vs292, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1It's probably "natural" causes due to his pre-existing health problems, or actually being too scared to fly back to Pakistan, but the timing of the poor guy's death is extremely suspicious. Cricket is a *really* serious game on the subcontinent and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the authorities investigate and find some evidence of wrong-doing.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1now what has all these replies to do with the main comment??
STOP COMMENT ABUSING - tito13kfm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Oh, it's Cricket. Marvelous game, really. You see, the bowler hurls the ball toward the batter who tries to play away a fine leg. He endeavors to score by dashing between the creases, provided the wicket keeper hasn't whipped his bails off, of course.
- Eryin, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4Jamaican Police? Wonder what their drug policy is.
Oh i wish i was a jamaican copper. - 111bottlesObeer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0oops, how do I edit that?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Haha, I literally LOL'ed at the initial comment. Well done.
- TheCaptainJS, on 10/12/2007, -17/+7I didn't realize Jamaicans played cricket, I thought they preferred bobsledding.
- EBFoxbat, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1"Pakistan cricket coach" ....obscure
