- neutrascrub, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22i like how he's smart enough to wear a helmet
- tristan55555, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Its a trial bike.
- vp0ng, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13@flamingmb
That's about as smart as saying, gee, my roller blades are useless, they're not good at walking up and down stairs.
He has a trial bike for his sport. Not for everyday Joe biking. - nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10"It kinda looks like motorcycle trial, but on a bike"
You mean like bike trials? A common thing in mountain biking? and there are courses everywhere for it? - moojj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The whole Ryan Leech intro makes him seem like a bit of a douche. Although they both do some awesome things! I could never do anything like this.
- Fighterspj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Found a slightly harder form of this. The difference is that the person isnt on a bicycle. He's on a unicycle!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-3-IhSkeYc - LilBoyLuver, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8I am pretty good on a scooter maybe I will treat the internets to a video sometime.
- rhettnyedotorg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@tristan55555 thank you for this clarification. urban mountainbiking it is not, trials riding it is.
- mouthwash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4i hope he's also smart enough to wear a cup.
- iamcrazyed, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6That's awesome. Thanks for the post. I think Ryan Leech is the best; he doesn't do any "correction hops". Check it out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cI6QcCAWZTE - knightblade2oo4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3great video but can we find a different song for sport-related videos?
- thethresh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Not to make Frostmonkey sound like a genius, but he's right ya know. Leech, McAskill, Baxter (Lil' Joe) http://tv.isg.si/site/?q=filebrowser/Joe_Baxter and those guys are amazing, but it only takes a few bumps and bruises to master the basic tricks and make you look like a rock star when you're out with your buddies on the trail next time. I studied under Eddy Kessler back in the 80s but I am fat, old and married now. :)
- zephyr42, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3buried as inaccurate... i am an urban mountain biker, he is a TRIALS rider. Huge difference.
- bobcrotch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You're right, it has a lot to do with balance and muscle control. But trying to do trials stuff on a normal mountain bike is pretty difficult and the right setup can make up for a lot of inexperience.
- frostmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3trials actually isn't all that hard. To the degree of Leech and his contemporaries of course takes years of practice, but simple stuff like 180s and nose wheelies can be learned pretty quickly.
- gr4yscale, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I was just thinking yesterday as I was mountain biking how I'd like to be able to do trial bike stuff, amazing skill!
- briangig, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3is that prince harry?
- optimo75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice to see the concrete monster that is Aviemore town centre being used to good effect.
- drinksanddiggs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1okay so as an avid mountain biker and a fan of all genres....I have absolutely no idea why anyone would post an "amazing trials bike" video without Ryan Leech in it. This kid is an awesome rider, but there's nobody on the planet that compares to the smoothness, technicality, and pure skill of Ryan Leech. Anyone who truly follows this stuff will tell you the same. But like I said that kids' pretty frickin awesome, alot better than me.
- rkettner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Obviously really good... but while he skips out on the "correction hops" he puts his leg out to re-balance. I'm no bike pro, so I'm not sure if this makes it harder or easier... but it would just seem to be an alternate way to do the same thing.
- amed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1and then there was the helmet
- joegibes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, if you look at the best of any sport, they use all the safety equipment that most kids think is unnecessary.
Anyway, this stuff is amazing, but I think I'll stick to riding trails instead of trials. - lemz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i shall call this... um... feet trials!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUksaD-JJgI - tektalk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This video makes me want to improve my biking skills.
- metall1c1ne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That was awesome! Guy has incredible balance...I'm sure it took lots of practice to get that good..and I'd bet the guy has the scars to prove it.
- TheGameAddict, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You're welcome.
- tonybunny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That was sweet
- shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yea and what is the deal with shoes, I mean they arent very comfy for swimming, really whats the point in haveing them?
- theseventhyear, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vaOq_O_ABc
these guys bring a little more speed into it. kind of fun to watch! - shaun1018, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Dugg for Cake.
- Fosowp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0for every dude like this, there are 999 other dudes, with no nuts left.
- DTwirler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0He can do jumps I can't even do with my own two feet.
- cizzop, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3When are people going to figure out that isn't the ONLY song you can use in an extreme sport / racing video?
BTW...The song is "Cake - Going the Distance" in case you have been living under a rock. - TheGameAddict, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Ah sorry, I didn't know that. We don't have those courses where I live (The Netherlands, capital of the world!) because we don't have mountains! The highest "hill" is the "Vaalserberg", and it's a stunning 321,5 meters high!!!OMGZWTFROFL!!!!!!1111oneoneelevelonehundredandeleven1!!!
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1Yeah that takes a lot of skill, but what use is that bike outside of what he is doing? No seat, thats got to be really comfortable! No suspension, great for mountain biking!
