- inactive, on 09/13/2009, -0/+32Eight miles a day for 34 years is amazing.
- enclaved, on 03/30/2009, -4/+26IM GUESSING WHEN SOMEONE SAYS ITS BEEN 34 YEARS WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN IS ITS BEEN 34 YEARS AND 3 MONTHS BUT SINCE 3 MONTHS IS INSIGNIFICANT AGAINST 34 YEARS LETS NOT BOTHER PUTTING THAT THERE BECAUSE ONLY A DOUCHEWAD WITH NO LIFE AND AWESOME SKILLS AT THE MATHS WOULD BOTHER ASSUMING WE MEANT EXACTLY 34 YEARS AND THEN DO THE MATH BUT THEN NOT BE SMART ENOUGH TO EVEN ACCOUNT FOR LEAP YEARS WHILE DOING IT
- Iwantawii, on 03/30/2009, -0/+19In other news, a local Digger eats his 100,000th funyun after 19 years.
- liuite, on 03/30/2009, -0/+14his 34/100,000 warranty has just ran out
- Diffy, on 03/30/2009, -0/+14Dugg for caps because the original commenter deserves to be yelled at like a retard.
- cartmam114, on 03/30/2009, -1/+14He just felt like running!
- therusher, on 03/30/2009, -0/+11With all that running, he MUST be local to us all.
- CoD4, on 03/30/2009, -1/+11What're we supposed to do now??
- FritoPendejo, on 03/30/2009, -0/+10Give me a break. 8 miles a day is nothing? Don't compare riding a bike because it's not even close, and I seriously doubt those runners are doing 8 miles every day. Have you ever run 8 miles? It's a long way.
- lazyslacker, on 03/30/2009, -0/+9Damn this guy looks like he could kick my ass too. Take a look at these pictures of him
http://ravenrun.net/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=16 - dtfinch, on 03/30/2009, -1/+8That's more in 3 days than I've run in my lifetime.
- HotBaconSauce, on 03/30/2009, -1/+8Yet here you are on digg.
- jcaino, on 03/30/2009, -1/+7No, this guy did this -every- day for 34 years. That is one helluva commitment.
- Odjur, on 03/30/2009, -0/+5Check out http://www.runeveryday.com/lists/RunningStreakList ... This is the official list of longest streak runners. My uncle Jon is #2 on the list. I can attest to his craziness about running. At every family event he always made sure to go for a run and drink some beer. Every time. No matter what.
- inactive, on 03/30/2009, -0/+5Doing it for 34 years is the accomplishment
- Elderberry13, on 03/30/2009, -0/+5If he were smart the first statement he would make is “I was running in (fill in the blank brand shoe), and eating (fill in the blank brand food bar).” Get some endorsements for all that time.
- arch3r, on 03/30/2009, -0/+5Forrest Gump: That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run. So I ran to the end of the road. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd run to the end of town. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd just run across Greenbow County. And I figured, since I run this far, maybe I'd just run across the great state of Alabama. And that's what I did. I ran clear across Alabama. For no particular reason I just kept on going. I ran clear to the ocean. And when I got there, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well turn around, just keep on going. When I got to another ocean, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well just turn back, keep right on going.
- zzzBrett, on 03/30/2009, -0/+4Life is like a box of chocolates..
- lnxfi, on 03/30/2009, -0/+4I get winded walking up my stairs...
- borez, on 03/30/2009, -2/+6Life is like a box of chocolates.
- tconnect80, on 03/30/2009, -1/+5You owe me a new keyboard blah blah blah. That really is the funniest thing I've seen in what must be over 3 years of reading Digg. Thank you.
- spritom, on 03/30/2009, -0/+4I've met some running legend guy...they call him "The Legend" at about 300k miles. He was also the basis for some legend runner in a crappy movie a couple decades ago...(On the Edge)

- CoD4, on 03/30/2009, -1/+4i had to google funyun, jesus christ, i personally had thousands of those myself, the WISE brand ones too
- lear, on 03/30/2009, -0/+3awesome goal. glad he made it.
- meninostongue, on 03/30/2009, -1/+4He implies that this has precluded a family life and financial security, which I find odd. If he runs really slowly, that's maybe 2 hours per day... still plenty of time left over for the rest of his life. It sounds like he met a lot of people doing this as well... none would go on a date? Plenty of people put in 56+ miles per week when marathon training, and still have lives.
That all said, I still admire the dedication it took to be that consistent. - tallguyg, on 03/30/2009, -0/+3you should be buried but I can't help it, I lol'd.
- enclaved, on 03/31/2009, -0/+3I'm just saying, you're dumb.
- borez, on 03/30/2009, -1/+4I'm guessing he does the odd marathon now and again.
- Super0ne, on 03/30/2009, -0/+3Please no more Forrest Gump analogies.
- jcaino, on 03/30/2009, -1/+4I like your style, dude.
- flatspin99, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2Actually there has been some recent research that shows this isn't the case. Running alone can cause muscle imbalances that can cause knee problems but doing too much of any one things usually causes problems. I started running to FIX my knees.
- meninostongue, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2Running in the sand a lot probably helps with this, as it is a softer surface. Many runners coming back from an injury will spend more time on dirt roads/trails to ease the beating on their legs.
- stroudma, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2well done sir, well done
- inactive, on 04/16/2009, -0/+2Well running on the beach reduces the impact but I'm sure those joints are pretty rough around the edges. To much of anything can be a bad thing and that includes exercise.

- vilago, on 03/30/2009, -1/+3he must have superman joints. everyone i know that runs on a regular basis has had or probably will have knee/leg problems at some point....the sciatic nerve is also very suseptible to the constant pounding of the feet. 100,000 miles? that can't be just lucky genetics, can it?
- EricAnderton, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2Good god, I wonder what shape his knees and hips are in?
- inactive, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2that is one bad ass fu manchu.
