- ethomas046, on 09/04/2008, -8/+22Then again, what do you expect from a sport that shares its main demographic with WWE?
Priceless. - connieLingus, on 09/04/2008, -2/+16its naive to think that with all the money that is bet every day on sports events that fixing isn't a big problem.
- GastricContents, on 09/04/2008, -1/+13Peko, listen to me carefully.

Read The ***** Article! - HeDiggMe, on 09/04/2008, -2/+12Exactly! Everybody knows the mafia helped Italy win the World Cup.
- HeDiggMe, on 09/04/2008, -4/+14No love for the Olympics?!
-2008 Chinese gymnasts
-2002 French Figure Skating Judge
-1994 Nancy Kerrigan attacked
-1988 Roy Jones loses to noname Korean in Seoul - petebot, on 09/04/2008, -0/+9I've already forgotten about the Olympics.
- Ryan2845, on 09/04/2008, -1/+8Cracked is an american based website, do you really expect them to write about the greatest scandals in cricket history?
It's american biased for the same reason ESPN.com doesn't put soccer on the front page, they know their audience and their writers are all americans.
This is like me getting upset that the BBC isn't reporting on nascar - edwartica, on 09/04/2008, -0/+6Tonya Harding was framed! Nancy Kerrigan cut her shoelaces as a way to get revenge!
- Spytap, on 09/04/2008, -0/+6NO kidding. I still remember watching Game 6 of Kings V Lakers in a room full of laker fans. At the beginning we were all cheering for our teams and giving each other *****, but by the end of it no one was cheering at all, and some laker fans actually left in disgust.
- BedPost, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4All I know, is that you do not ***** with Kerrigan.
- LemonHerb, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4Are any of those great moments in sports?
- matt3454, on 09/04/2008, -15/+19Titled wrong, meant to be: 7 Great American Sports Moments (That Might Have Been Fixed)
- Greengoo, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4The chinese gymnasts weren't 'fixed', they were just against the rules.
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -1/+4You know some of these fights were fixed. I only wish I knew how to get the inside info to profit from it. :)
- Guy88, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3I've heard all these theories before on other websites, and even from people who follow the sport. Plus, we all know that reffing in the NBA is a total joke so I wouldn't be surprised in the least if every final had been fixed since 2000.
Every other story on digg seems to be either political or something to do with Linux/apple/tech, so how exactly is cracked pandering to digg users with a sports story? - obliviousfool, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3Woah. Someone has his knickers in a twist.
- akphidelt, on 09/04/2008, -2/+5hahaha, get over it! There was nothing suspicious at all about the calls.
- andrewlotta, on 09/04/2008, -1/+3Patriots fans still haven't gotten over the fact that their team lost?
- OneLess, on 09/04/2008, -0/+2It was only a minute before.
- kocurejd, on 09/04/2008, -0/+2I'll do whatever I wanna be.
- jlee2081, on 09/04/2008, -0/+2Let it be known that it was the GSWarriors got screwed by David Stern in the Patrick Ewing sweepstakes
that's all. - UrlorJkron, on 09/04/2008, -1/+3I find #4 rather unlikely considering Micheal Waltrip and Dale Earnhardt Jr., both in DEI cars finished first and second in 2001 Daytona 500. Then when they came back in the summer for the Pepsi 400 they did the same with Jr. in front. DEI continued to be strong at the superspeedways for the next couple of years as well.
Plus that pass was nothing compared to other passes there like Kevin Harvick's win just last year. - mattybumpo30, on 09/05/2008, -0/+1Dude, relax. First of all, does any other country even come close to the US as far as money spent? The Italian Soccer league is so fixed it's a joke. No *****. The Tour de France: cheaters. It's an American on-line magazine, and it's probably aimed at American sports. No other country, for better or worse, has as wide a devotion to so many sports as the US, and it's not even close. Get over it dude.
- 9bpm9, on 09/04/2008, -3/+4No, Bobby Thompson's walk-off to win the pennant was not "probably fixed", it was fixed.
- tMANwi, on 09/04/2008, -4/+5How is this comment getting dugg down!?
- HeDiggMe, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1Touche -- Roy Jones is probably the most significant and only more so *because* of the controversy
- kaosethema, on 09/05/2008, -0/+1noice!!
- OasisR123, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1just ask Davidenko....
- Whiteknight117, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1Stern is corrupt.
- jahurt, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1How about Super Bowl 40?
- lynx44, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1I actually remember thinking the exact opposite after watching the game. I personally felt that the officiating for Superbowl XL was terrible, although I'm biased because I'm a Seahawks fan. Still, Wikipedia has a section about the bad officiating in XL, but nothing about it in XLII, so I feel that I'm somewhat justified for feeling that way.
- mattybumpo30, on 09/05/2008, -0/+0Fair enough points, but like the others say on here, a. who cares? and b. they aren't "may have been fixed" (except Roy Jones), they are flat out cheating!
- Seng, on 09/04/2008, -1/+1On Li'l E's Daytona win -- The writer has obviously never ever watched any restrictor plate races (or even read about them). Someone can come from the back of the pack to first place in a matter of a couple laps. Mid-pack to first in seven laps is not anywhere near impossible.
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -1/+1#8 Last 4 World Cup finals
- edwartica, on 09/04/2008, -1/+1I remember a few times back in the 90s when the Portland trailblazers had some awful calls against them. Ahem, hello - Detroit should not of won the finals in 1990!
- mattybumpo30, on 09/05/2008, -0/+0Glaring ommissions? You can't write about every single event EVER. It's pretty reasonable to reserve this to American sports, since that limits it, since it's an American website, since Americans watch WAY more sports than every other country (no other country has as many major sports as we do), and no other country spends anywhere NEAR what we spend on sports (and most of these are not good things about the US). Considering all that, what's the big deal?
- mattybumpo30, on 09/05/2008, -0/+0Who cares about this stupid "sport"? I know enthusiasts try to claim how much it's growing, etc, but it's actually in a ton of economic trouble because sponsors don't care to get too invested (ie Winston Cup, no Sprint Cup, no...). Why? Because it doesn't appeal to key demographics, but especially demographics that actually have ANY MONEY!!! I don't mean that to be offensive as it sounds, but who cares?
- colusito, on 09/04/2008, -0/+08) France wins the World Cup.
- mattybumpo30, on 09/05/2008, -0/+0Yeah, but you can only write so many.
- Peko, on 09/04/2008, -1/+1lol facepalm. my bad.
- mattybumpo30, on 09/05/2008, -0/+0Yeah, but the article is "May have been fixed". That one was flat-out fixed.
- mattybumpo30, on 09/05/2008, -0/+0What? Do you mean the Fiesta Bowl with Ohio State against Florida? Why would a "kick off" being returned for a "touchdown" be shady?
- kurupttek, on 09/04/2008, -4/+2Well some of these make sense
- Mangotastic, on 09/04/2008, -3/+0these are pretty much all american sports. "shot heard around the world" lmao. like anyone else was paying attention. meanwhile every other country in the world was more interested in football, thats real football, not that girly rip off of rugby. which leads me to the glaring ommissions, Italy "winning" the 1934 world cup, having bribed officials and been shown clear favouritism with a little help from mussolini. and dont forget alfredo di stefano mysteriously signing for real madrid!! you americans dont know what you are missing :p
- kinggimped, on 09/04/2008, -5/+1I think you're misreading 'complete sentences' as 'upset'.
I don't give a crap about cracked.com, just would have been nice to have it specified in the submission title so I wouldn't have wasted my time reading about sports no other country could give a ***** about.
A bit of variety never hurts... nor does exploration of ideas outside of your own borders.
WELL MET, PATRIOT. AMERICA PREVAILS! - inactive, on 09/04/2008, -7/+2Baseball and American football have their shady moments.
Remember the receiver running that near 100yard goal on the first play a few superbowls back?
uh huh...... -
