- inactive, on 05/09/2008, -0/+11Yeah, imagine a professional bowling league failing... *gasp*
- Bukowsky, on 05/09/2008, -1/+10I hated the XFL! I was glad to see them die off.
- inactive, on 05/09/2008, -0/+8The original XFL concept sounds great on paper, heck it still sounds like something that would be amusing even though I know it failed. Ultimately, I think you just can't combine pro-wrestling style sports entertainment with fully unscripted sports competition. It leads to decent competition but very half-assed entertainment.
- Condemned, on 05/09/2008, -0/+6I remember when I heard someone talking about how he was collecting XFL cards...
- shakbhaji, on 05/09/2008, -2/+7But... the X is for eXtreme. :(
- endersadvocate, on 05/09/2008, -0/+3haha, rod smart went to my high school. He came by last year and gave bobble heads to some of the teachers.
- Zipko, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2It's the same mistake they made with the new American Gladiators. They took a great idea and ruined it by trying to add that WWE crap to it.
- andytheidiot, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2At least there wouldn't be that many to collect!
- mrmatchgame, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2"Candlepin bowling! That's a great idea!"
- Homer Simpson - Shakermaker, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2I remember watching Roller Hockey International - it has the inclines behind the nets to make it easier to go around. It was actually pretty entertaining to watch.
- VinnieDaMac, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2I'm hoping for a National Table Tennis League someday.
- Adam420, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Woooo Eric Crouch go Huskers!!!
- StevieJanowski, on 04/02/2009, -2/+3I also hated the XFL but was a big fan of the cheerleaders so I was a little sad to see the league go under. Oh well I can still go see them at the Gold Club
- biggieandmoe, on 05/10/2008, -0/+1The best one was slamball.
Hopefully that comes back on. - robertallen, on 05/18/2008, -0/+1Where's the USFL on this list? Apparently, the AAFL (All American Football League) seems to be the next doomed league.
- smegball, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1I went to Montreal Roadrunners match once, they had cheerleaders, which you don't see at ice hockey matches, spent more time watching them then the game!
- shutaro, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Yeah... The only thing that I really liked about the XFL was that the players could have whatever they wanted on the back of their uniforms... "He Hate Me" FTW!
- Dutchyraph27, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1The way Gary Bettman handles the NHL, chances are it's gonna find itself in the next edition of this list.
- SpikeLee, on 05/09/2008, -1/+1If I recall, the X didn't stand for anything.
- MysticSavage, on 05/10/2008, -0/+0No World Hockey Association, no digg.
/Go, Jets, Go. - eurofooty, on 05/09/2008, -1/+1Great to see this league NOT on the list:
The US Australian Football League.
Started in 1996 and still going strong...
www.usfooty.com - dave2112, on 05/09/2008, -2/+2Was he gay?
- sjbdallas, on 05/09/2008, -5/+3XFL had promise but in the end it was trying to hard to be NFL2. I wanted to see late hits, brawls in the end zone, a star running back carrying a couple of those whor....i mean cheerleaders over each shoulder after the game. Bottom line: I wanted an adult themed, violent, sexy real life video game and all it took was 30 minutes of week 1 to see that it wasn't going to be that.
