- inactive, on 10/26/2007, -5/+59Holy crap, did I just watch a gay porn?
- corduroyblack, on 10/10/2007, -2/+18Buried. This isn't the 300 workout. To read what they actually did, check out Men's Health magazine or buy the 300 DVD and watch the web extras section. They used pullups, bench presses, deadlifts, floor-wipers, kettle bell lifts and other feats of strength to train.
Rubber bands for a diverse Spartan workout? Are you kidding? - DirtySnachez, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15Ssshhhhh.. ITS A TRAINING VIDEO MOM !
- Nicksname1, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17(The guy that made this video): "I got this new idea for a workout video it's called 7 minute Abs. I will market it using a workout video starring me doing various goofy poses and stretches then I will upload it to break, title it something about 300 because those kids on the Internet love Spartans, and then put my website on the bottom. Someone will digg it in no time."
(Skeptical person): "But what if someone comes up with 6 minute abs?"
(The guy that made this video): "No! No, no, not 6! I said 7. Nobody's comin' up with 6. Who works out in 6 minutes? You won't even get your heart goin, not even a mouse on a wheel."
(Skeptical person): "good point."
(The guy that made this video): "7's the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 doors. 7, man, that's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office."
(Skeptical person): "why?"
(The guy that made this video): "'Cause you're *****' fired! " - iguanapunk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14That depends on how much movement you had in the trouser department.
I wouldn't call this a Spartan workout. It's just an endurance/power work out. - S3dative, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8How many days a week?
- queenzgangsta, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8300 times!!!!!!!
- SnuKs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Lift weights, eat more, eat clean. It's just that simple. The hard part is making it a habit.
- SnuKs, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Might be inaccurate, but hey what ever works and from the looks of the results it worked for him. You can look like a Spartan without doing the exact "300 workout". Different paths still lead to the same goal ;p
- dime, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Can someone translate this to English for me?
- pumpedvideo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8buried, it has nothing to do with the movie 300, beside it include 300 rep
- usherzx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6frolicking is good also
- drafhk, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7I've seen another version of this workout on Digg before... it seemed to be more large-machine/equipment oriented. For instance, it involved pull-up bars, 45lb. deadlift/bench-press bars, etc. Anyways, I'm wondering how effective it would be to maybe do them both once a week. More? Also, does anyone have any other tips about making yourself look like that (cut/toned but somewhat big also)?
- SmokeAbowl, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7well, that was the gayest thing I've seen all day. thanx
- dukem72, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Best way to tone yourself and loose body fat is to really start counting your calorie intake and play around with something called HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) you burn calories faster more effectively and complete your workout in less time. Basically it means to warm for 5 min by walking then sprinting on a scale of 1 - 10 should be intensity 9 or 10 for a minute then walk/jog to catch your breath for 2 min then repeat your sprint walk switch for a total of 3 to 4 sprints then cool down 5 minutes, trust me on this cool down otherwise your legs will hurt like hell for a whole week
Then work out normally the other days you don't do HIIT
Good luck - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8@drafhk
To look like that you need a great set of genetics and/or a great work ethic. And diet is a huge part of it. You can't eat like garbage and expect to be ripped like this fella, unless you have crazy genetics (like me).
I would do this workout as my cardio becuase you should do all these excercises non-stop or with little rest between each one, keeping the heartrate high. I would not do it more than twice a week though, stick to the basics of body building, heavy lifting burns a lot of calories too (while breaking down the muscle to have it grow larger) - dukem72, on 10/10/2007, -0/+53 Times a week, rest is really needed in between even if you work out regularly
- cinnabon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5If you are a skinny guy, just doing these exercises will not help, If you don't eat enough, you won't gain muscle mass.
- kalleanka, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6How exactly was this a "home training" video?
He used like a bunch of equipment you only find in a gym. I'm supposed to turn my home into a gym first? - DocHoliday22, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Did anyone else read where it said "Home Version", yeah I guess not.
- vbellian, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Judging from his form he didn't achieve his current shape with that workout. He uses too much momentum for the lifts for it to be really effective, and some of the motions look really bad for your back.
- fhernand, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4this is the website from the guy who was hired to train the actors for the movie: http://www.gymjones.com/
he is part of a mountainclimber community that employs unconventional methods to train for climbing.. - 3wiid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4107 Days! Dude that is some inspirational *****! I would like to know how many days too seriously nice effort. I have skinny girl arms and would love to add some well some anything really!
- aspec, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5It never helps to overwork your body. There is a point where you tear your muscle, and you are much better of just letting it recover. The amount of benefit achieved from working beyond that point is minimal, and you'll end up with stretch marks and deformed muscle shapes.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4If you want a toned body you should do a lot of cardio like running skipping rowing.
- DocHoliday22, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I prefer this one: http://my.break.com/media/view.aspx?ContentID=221269
- r3mix, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Eating right also helps.
- SnuKs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It's hard to keep a balance between cutting and bulking. You should check out the forums at fitness.com for tips on certain work outs and diets. They have real good info and they're community is pretty knowledgeable and friendly.
I'd love to try this work out, but Im not sure how many times a week this guy does it. I highly doubt he does it daily cause you're body would feel like crap without proper rest. - boejangles, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2What the hell... Feb - April, thats a major change for Feb to April...
- kmhtkmhtkmht, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I am sure the replicating his cardiovascular programmes from his profession is unattainable for us all!
- G_money, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2When is Peter North going to publish his bodybuilding routine?
- gizmo490, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2At such a high rep count 30 reps for most of these exercises (15 for a couple but different sides of the body) and doing quite a few isometric exercises (exercises using your own body weight) you will get cut very quickly like the guy in the video did and you have less chance of over training (http://sportsmedicine.about.com/cs/overtraining/a/aa062499a.htm is good and wiki has some more info) than if you are doing heavy weight lifting. Because of this most people would probably be safe doing this exercise routine 4 or 5 times a week depending on your current physiology and how hard you are pushing yourself when you are training.
I have to totally agree with you on the diet aspect however if you wanna look like that you are def going to have to give up Mc Donald's :) - spawesume, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4How the ***** does he look like a spartan?
- resplence, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1He said the monkey clown horrible karate round and yummy like cute small baby chick would beat the donkey.
- adude, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Did anyone else expect some sort of parody?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1exactly what i was thinkin. I got a 50lb dumbell set.. thats it.
all that other fancy equipment i'd be surprised if anyone has freely available... either they already care about their bodies or the shop at home bowflex infomercial got to them. - gartekh, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL!!!
- diversionmary, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13wiid, I know. I dugg this so I could find it later and give it a go.
- ShuttleDisaster, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2a lot of these exercises use way too much momentum and some are definitely not great for the back. and you definitely shouldnt be doing this workout every day, muscles would have no time to recover.
youre better off with a 4day per week workout plan. something like Mon: chest and tris, Tues: back and bis, lats, Wed: rest, Thurs: shoulders/traps Fri: Legs, forearms, abs........and 30 min of cardio at least 4 days out of the week.
2 to 3 protein shakes a day as well as 3 to 4 solid healthy meals and thats pretty dramatic results in less than 2 months. - diversionmary, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Where do you get a rubberband like that?
- ProKid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1LMAO!!
- vince916, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think thats the first time I noticed someone with asymmetric abs.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Uh oh, hot dog!!!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0GIVE THEM NOTHING! (referring to the idiots who will now flock to his website) TAKE FROM THEM... EVERYTHING!!!! (referring to the idiots who will now flock to his website) AND... ERR.. OH YES... YARRRRR!!!!!
- TrevorBelmont, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1A few of those looked like you would get hurt. Quick, swinging jerking type movements with weights seems like a bad plan. In the interest of full disclosure, I feel I should mention that I'm fat and lazy.
- iamjames, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3I think the "300" comes from looking like the Spartan guys in the movie "300". And he does look like one of the Spartans, so I can see why he calls it the "300 Spartan workout training".
Say what you want but the results are incredibly impressive in only 4 months with only working out 10-15 minutes a day and using just the rubberband and a few dumbbells.
He's claiming he did all this for less than the cost of 1 month gym membership and in shorter time than it takes just to drive to the gym. - junk2006, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1ONLY SPARTAN WOMAN CAN GIVE BIRTH TO SPARTAN MEN YARRR
- MonkeyNews, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1It's not a very hardcore workout tbh. See Ronnie Coleman.
- Nichiren, on 10/10/2007, -6/+5Yeah seriously. This guy just put together a bunch of exercises and totaled the reps to equal 300 just so he can title his video with the words "300" and "Spartan" to imply that it's from the movie. Then he proceeds to promote his site at the end of the video.
