- zmigliozzi, on 06/09/2008, -0/+8I got to the 5th then i realized how annoying it was to have to scroll down to see the picture then scroll back up to go to the next one. Thats a sign of a great frontpage web developer.
- gnorth75, on 06/09/2008, -1/+9Cliff notes - A bunch of guys with loads of talent and no brains cannot stay out of trouble.
- SierraAlpha, on 06/09/2008, -2/+8"Newton was caught with 213 and 175 pounds of marijuana..."
He was just asking for it. - RizzoFrank, on 06/09/2008, -1/+6BLACK
- richiewrt, on 06/09/2008, -0/+5No Mike Tyson??
- edwartica, on 06/09/2008, -0/+4After his trial, OJ Simpson said he would not rest till he found the real killers.
That night, he took a long look at himself in the mirror, and slept like a baby. - P8ntBal1551, on 06/09/2008, -1/+5O J Simpson...
Kobe Bryant.... - phrozen755, on 06/09/2008, -1/+5Denny McLain ... "he has been sent to jail twive for the federal crimes of drug trafficking, embezzlement (twice)"
Dugg for Twive. - openthink, on 06/09/2008, -0/+3think was that the feds weren't involved in the oj or kobe cases. think they were state prosecutions, fwiw...
- smoothmann, on 06/09/2008, -0/+3BURIED for multi-page clicking.
***** THING SUCKS! - NJank, on 06/09/2008, -1/+3buried, misleading title. I thought this was a report of a new event. "20 athletes busted by feds". It got my hopes up.
- nyx210, on 06/09/2008, -0/+2Jamal Lewis is not amused.
- inactive, on 06/09/2008, -0/+2...and then the crickets began chirping. Nice try, Rodney Dangerfield.
- majordannyboy, on 06/09/2008, -0/+2I'm surprised they didn't mention Rae Carruth of the Panthers. He was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and using an instrument to destroy an unborn child. He was sentenced to 18 to 24 years in prison. His projected release date is October 22, 2018.
- HookmasterCH47, on 06/09/2008, -1/+3Willlie McCovey? No wonder the Giants named a cove after him.
- Schmich, on 06/09/2008, -0/+2"prosecuted by the feds"
- inactive, on 06/09/2008, -1/+2CORRECTION: should be "...loads of talent (if you follow organized team sports)..."
For me, events like the Iron Man Triathlon, etc. are where the athletes are; I have never heard of a Baseball nor Basketball player's life that sounded that difficult - again, making them appear just that much _more_ stupid when they fall. - FrankTheTank17, on 06/09/2008, -1/+2Aww, I was excited to see there were no hockey players until I got to the one on the list. :( Oh well, still makes it look better then all the other major sports that have more then one athlete on the list.
- mrgodai, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1the game is on
- edwartica, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1I have no idea who Kobe Bryant is, but I was indeed disappointed not to see OJ Simpson on the list. Maybe he wasn't included because he was retired at the time he murdered his wife and her lover in cold blood.
- majordannyboy, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1yeah, why no Mike??? They mention Riddick Bowe and he only served 18 months.
- edwartica, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1A few years ago, they tried to get a pro baseball team in Portland. My response was "Why? The jails are already full!"
- inactive, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1Seriously guys, no Mikey? Like WTF?
- lenninct, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1VIck for presisdent!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!
- thegbe, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1number #12
"In incidents separated by five weeks in 2001, Newton was caught with 213 and 175 pounds of marijuana, respectively"
holy *****! - edwartica, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1yeah, well - at least I tried. No respect I tell ya, no respect.
- P8ntBal1551, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1in the kobe case, i was mistaken that was a civil suit so no cops
but the o j case was taken to criminal court but o j won, but then it was taken to civil court (parents suing him) and he lost - Endlesswar2, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1OJ?!?!
- nyx210, on 06/09/2008, -1/+1WHITE
- DevinOlsen, on 06/09/2008, -1/+120 Pages? Buried
- gkiltz, on 06/10/2008, -0/+0The Feds may prosecute, but in Michael Vick's case it's the Commonwealth of Virginia that ruined any hope of a comeback!
Commissioner Goodell has made it clear that he will only lift the suspension when all his legal problems are cleared up!
By making the decision to put the state case on hold until after his release, that, in effect forces him to miss at least one more year. 4 years is the AVERAGE NFL career, and that will make it essentially certain that he will miss more than two! IN A SKILL POSITION?
Anyone have a fork we can stick in him, because he's DONE! - dwm1225, on 06/09/2008, -5/+3Sports? That's a funny word. What does it mean?
- dawnlikethesoap, on 06/09/2008, -3/+0Cliff notes, because I don't feel like sifting through 20 pages...?
- apio, on 06/09/2008, -6/+1nice list, but a shame it's just americans
patrick kluivert would have looked good in this list :)
"Personal life
In 1997, Kluivert was charged with manslaughter following his involvement in a fatal car accident [...] He was also charged with rape on a separate occasion" - bdptcob, on 06/09/2008, -7/+2Cue the obligatory jokes about digg nerds knowing nothing about sports.
