- joep0, on 08/13/2008, -32/+77Wow, this article is the definition of pointless. If you're tired of hearing about the stories, why compile them into another story, only to hear about them once again...
- slightlyoffbeat, on 08/13/2008, -2/+43irony...
- balibones, on 08/13/2008, -0/+34OK I'm going to Digg because it was a well-put-together article. But srsly the irony is clearly there.
- SniperZero, on 08/14/2008, -7/+36You forgot
- The Olympics are fake
- Lip sync girl - RikkiTikki, on 08/14/2008, -1/+21If Brett Favre isn't in it, I'm happy to read it.

- Jrr6415sun, on 08/14/2008, -0/+8i'm watching that match right now... thanks for ruining it
- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -5/+1315. The Dark Knight (on Digg)
- mickstephenson, on 08/14/2008, -3/+10Is it just me that thinks Amanda Beard is nothing particularly special in the looks department and only gets so much attention because she is willing to take her clothes off for cash?
- shufan, on 08/14/2008, -0/+6This article is awesome, although it is missing a few (namely, the lip-syncing story and the CGI fireworks). "Michael Phelps is a Good Swimmer". I'm so tired of that story, lol.
- FeloniusMonkey, on 08/14/2008, -1/+7or......... RON PAUL RON PAUL RON PAUL!!!
- laplie, on 08/14/2008, -0/+5to get anything else (except gymnastics, swimming, and occasional volleyball), you have to watch some of the other stations. NBC is the "flagship" station so they only show the most popular sports. But CNBC, MSNBC, and USA show some of the less popular sports like weight lifting, badminton, and boxing. All the coverage is still US centric though
- organdonersteve, on 08/14/2008, -1/+6they need to show more than just USA and china, Ive watched probably 5 hours of the olympics, and Ive only seen 1 other team. they also need to show more than gymnastics and swimming. i think its pretty lame that nbc is trying to make dramatic story lines through out the whole thing.
- zacattac50, on 08/14/2008, -1/+6this is just an exercise in hypocrisy.
- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -4/+8And sometimes you get ***** crammed down your throat when you don't want it i.e. Dark Knight on Digg
- StinkBait, on 08/14/2008, -0/+4Don't forget the iPhone.
- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -2/+6Am I getting smarter, or is news and sport commentary in general getting dumber?
- Fanboy88, on 08/14/2008, -1/+5They forgot the whining about the air pollution in Beijing.
Did you know, the bird's nest was not build by a bird? - wiirdo, on 08/14/2008, -0/+4Dara Torres = MILF
- HeDiggMe, on 08/14/2008, -0/+4The Amanda Beard entry was random. I hadn't heard anything about her in months.
- RikkiTikki, on 08/14/2008, -1/+5You and your friends are clearly the majority. If I asked anyone about him, they'd say how awesome that first relay was. Both of our studies are completely scientific.
- bdbr, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3I expect NBC signed some agreement with the Chinese government not to discuss that. Plus, covering that tends to result in your reporter getting carted off by the police, which makes coverage a little difficult (I saw this happen on PBS).
- Linkin4, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3At least I don't have to hear about Josh Hamilton shooting up anymore
- h3lx, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3and the OBAMANATION!
- KevinWhite, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3I agree, I've watched alot of the olympics. Maybe it's just the times I watch, but all I've seen is beach volleyball, gymnastics, and swimming.
- mbstrlbstr, on 08/14/2008, -7/+10Um cause its funny to point these things out?
- Nintendesert, on 08/14/2008, -1/+4Hey, at least that bitchy whine-fest was on one page.
- doubl3d, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3I am not tired of hearing about any of these stories, i didn't even know about half of them.
- pdizz, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3Anyone know the name of the American who won gold in trap shooting? I don't either, they only talked about him for 20 seconds.
EDIT: Had to look it up, it was Glenn Eller - inactive, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3"Oh really? To train for the 200m freestyle Michael Phelps swims laps? In a pool? Man, you've opened some eyes."
I see no sarcasm at all in that sentence. - richmondphotog, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3Just don't watch it. It works for me.
- bdbr, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2The dramatic story lines started a couple of Olympics ago. They were popular, so NBC continues to do it.
- urrea, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2"...Before I used to race, I always ate an apple. Speaking of "ate," did you know that Michael Phelps could potentially win eight gold medals at these Olympic games?"
- mbstrlbstr, on 08/14/2008, -2/+4I thought it was funny when the tv personlalities will ask a question like "Why is Phelps such a big phenominon in America?"
And I ask my friends what they think of him, and they're like "He's a good swimmer, I guess."
He's a big phenom in NBCs eyes becuase the only emails they get are from the non-silent minority, aged 13-16 girls who want to date Phelps up. - inactive, on 08/13/2008, -1/+3pre-dinner devouring-hours
;D - inactive, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2Wow, another article on...the OLYMPICS! BUT....surprisingly funny! Oh the irony. Reluctantly dugg... :(
- RyeBrye, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2"Now, if wrestlers trained for their event by wrestling a chimpanzee or anaconda, show that ***** all day. "
Greco-roman anaconda training. I like it. FOX should make it into a reality show. - EtherGnat, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2It actually seems like they're doing less of the human interest stuff than they did in Sydney. That Olympics seemed like it was an hour of interviews and feel good fluff and then 2 minutes of sports. It was unbearable.
Or maybe I've just gotten used to it.
It is a bit repetitive, but then again most people aren't watching 12 hours of Olympic coverage a day either. ::shrug:: I've been relatively happy with the coverage at this Olympics. - mbstrlbstr, on 08/14/2008, -2/+4I've been surprised that the Tibet situation hasn't been brought up nearly as much.
Go Phelps's upper left abdominal muscle GO! - diemunkiesdie, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2It's not Vista only and you seem to just be looking for things to complain about!
- 3tcp, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2Let's talk about think things we don't like having to talk about!1 LOL now I'm annoyed
????? - Mothrog, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2She was pretty hot when she was younger, than she went for the caked on mascara street walker look.
- dn11, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1thanks for digging this article - I hadn't heard 10 or those 14 stories
- perfectsilence, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1No. 15 - China's complete dominance in the number of gold medals.
- ToTiredToCare, on 08/14/2008, -4/+5Let's see, you don't want to hear about Michael Phelps anymore (predictable) which means you want the entire free world's sports media to ignore the biggest story going on right now. Brilliant.
Buried. - aftern9ne, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1What the hell else would they talk about? Unless you're blind you shouldn't need an announcer at all, except that's too boring.
- Doubledown, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1Who's this Michael Phelps person I keep hearing about?
