- cloudnin, on 07/01/2008, -1/+5I'm sure ratings will go way up for the swimming events since every world record will be shattered because of that Speedo suit, but I think the rules committee made a mistake allowing it. I expect that after the Olympics are over and a significant number of high school, college, and other swimmers have paid $550 for one, the suit will be banned from competition and all the records earned by swimmers wearing it will be voided.
- sjmulder, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4Code Monkey like Speedos :)
- Twenty, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3I can see the controversy surrounding the speedo. Since it covers so much of your skin (unlike the other skimpy little numbers), it compensates for your human skin imperfections. I don't like it. Go Greek again, I mean, that makes sense for a number of sports. Nudity is pure human...
Also, the ice vest looks really ***** intense. - Filter, on 07/01/2008, -1/+4The best gear in the world.... Made In China
- reetourebel, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3$130 for a soccer ball. Only in America... where soccer is so big.

- rz8472, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2I noticed that the Adidas ball had "Zhong Guo" written in traditional rather than simplified. Very astute.
- gaapgod, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2FTA: "Instead of the usual stitched fabric panels, the uppers are strengthened with Nike's Flywire technology: criss-crossed cables woven from Vectran liquid-crystal polymer threads—the same stuff used in the Mars rovers' airbags."

- tehnico, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2Donovan Baily is the OR holder. Does that even mean anything anymore?
- jarjarwang, on 07/01/2008, -3/+4I hope the USA wins a gold metal medal in every event this year! USA USA!
- Wrangler76, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Most often, if a product is superior or inferior, it is because of its design. Surprisingly enough, that's not due to some random Chinese factory worker's skill level.
- Wrangler76, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1Really? Care to give some example?. From what I have observed, most products are made in China now. Is everything of crappy quality, and should be avoided? The company DOES move production to China to save money- but that is not on materials, design, etc, they do it to save money on labour and because of the lack of environmental laws, they can just dump their excess everywhere. Products that aren't made in China are made elsewhere because either A) they're very advanced products that production facilities haven't been set up for yet or B) companies need at least a few products that are made in other countries to get away from the reputation of "Made in China" that's appearing these days despite all the high quality products they make.
- Filter, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Anybody that works in a professional field selling professional gear knows to stay away from anything made in China. I'm sure the skill level of people working in China is fine. The problem comes from the fact that when a company moves their production to China it's because they are trying to save money. In fact, the quality suffers when companies are trying to save a few pennies. The government owned companies in China also tend to cut every corner that they can get away with. This also leads to garbage quality.

- tonich03, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1Seriously thoug, all you need if you run, no matter what level, is Nike+Ipod. I don't want to be a fanboy(I am though), but it's the single most awesome piece of equipment EVER created..for 30 bucks! are you kidding me? Just go and try it, really.
- ptFoe, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1GO IRAQI OIL
- 48snickers, on 07/01/2008, -2/+1The design (by a German company) for that ball dates back to the last world cup, in Germany, and I'm pretty sure it's been generally available world-wide since then. Are you arguing that they charge too much for it here? Are you arguing Americans shouldn't be allowed to purchase foreign soccer balls because we don't have an established enough soccer history?
- triumfclothing, on 07/02/2008, -1/+0Go USA!!!
- str3ama, on 07/01/2008, -9/+2This reads like a giant plug for Nike and Adidas. Plus they forgot to add Steroids.
