- jstohler, on 08/27/2008, -2/+94Heh heh. "Stroke."
- Triplastic, on 08/27/2008, -1/+70The titles makes it sound like he's been giving out handjobs.
- shuckl4k, on 08/27/2008, -1/+59dugg for a 1.6 million dollar stroking.
- xLSDx, on 08/27/2008, -1/+41Spoiler: HE WINS 8 GOLD MEDALS!
- OfNumbers, on 08/27/2008, -1/+40Chapter 1: I was born, somehow. Chapter 2: I began swimming. Chapter 3: I saved babies from a burning home. etc.
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -3/+40Will it be printed on water proof paper? I would like to read it under water.
- DonCreech, on 08/27/2008, -2/+33It all started when I was drowning one day. I decided, "***** this, I wanna live!", and it was remarkably easy for me to reach the surface. A little too easy... The rest is history.
- GorfTron, on 08/27/2008, -2/+29My stroking has not gotten me more than a sore penis.
- roessnakhan, on 08/28/2008, -2/+26Probably not the best word choice.
- jakash, on 08/27/2008, -3/+24Michael Phelps found Nemo. Twice.
- DeQuinceysDiet, on 08/27/2008, -5/+26I love it when people who've never read a book, write a book.
- gaqua, on 08/27/2008, -3/+19Here's an excerpt:
"I hired somebody to ghost write this book because I have carpal tunnel from polishing my 14 ***** GOLD MEDALS." - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -1/+17Someone must be forgetting the NBA players.
- shutaro, on 08/27/2008, -3/+17Because that's what Michael Phelps would do.
- BlaqReaper, on 08/27/2008, -1/+14Of course. How else do you think he got a $1.6 million book deal? By being the fastest swimmer alive? Pffftttt.
- diggerbez, on 08/27/2008, -0/+12New life goal: stroke my way to something
- bjs3171, on 08/27/2008, -2/+14YEAH. LEAVE MICHAEL ALOOOOOOOOONE!
- InspectorGadget, on 08/27/2008, -1/+13With your purchase of any country of equal or greater value.
- DThatsMe, on 08/27/2008, -2/+13All the other pervs beat me to it.
Heh. Beat. - rjn17960, on 08/27/2008, -1/+11For someone who said "I'm at a loss for words" several times in interviews, and was diagnosed with ADHD at 9 years old, he's getting paid a ton for some words. I'm just guessing he's not going to be writing them.
Of course, when you win 8 Olympic golds, you deserve some slack. - boredrph, on 08/27/2008, -0/+10Hello China? Yes, I have something that you may be interested in, but it'll cost you..Yes, all the tea!
- bigcynic, on 08/27/2008, -0/+9 "Built to Succeed" — sounds like the title of a eugenics book.
- blankis, on 08/27/2008, -2/+10***** you, two of my friends died from strokes.
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -0/+8He's making money hand over fist.
- arekkusu, on 08/27/2008, -0/+8Yeah well, you know, that's just like, your opinion, man.
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -2/+9The Million Dollar Fap
- mugwumpz, on 08/27/2008, -0/+7Michael no longer strokes on his own behalf. It's my understanding that he has a cadre of young ladies willing to do all his stroking for him.
- shutaro, on 08/27/2008, -1/+7You're doing it wrong!
- feliks2, on 08/27/2008, -0/+6Since when is it free?
- EtherGnat, on 08/27/2008, -0/+6Actually 14 and counting.
- pirategonzo, on 08/27/2008, -0/+6I'll take one!
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -0/+6Good for him, but really, does anyone even care to read the book? I sure don't ....
- fadetoone, on 08/27/2008, -2/+8Heh. While a beast of a swimmer, Phelps doesn't strike me as the eloquent type. He'll probably write a bunch of random gibberish, use the phrase "you know" three times a sentence and keep the book under a hundred pages. Either that or he'll have someone else write it for him.
Regardless, people will still buy it. - WhoDoneIt, on 08/27/2008, -0/+6Spit on your palm!
That's what your mom did. - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -1/+7Because that's where the joke-o-meters are located. Perhaps you should take a look sometime.
- samard2002, on 08/27/2008, -0/+5Good thing they did this in time to capitalize on his fleeting Olympic fame. Oh wait.
- OC73, on 08/27/2008, -1/+6WIth all those sponsorships, I'm sure he'll have a few chicks stroking him too.
- alexanEmpire, on 08/27/2008, -1/+6I wish I could stroke my way to a $1.6 million dollar book deal.....
Oh wait, the article meant something else. - bjs3171, on 08/27/2008, -0/+5for what, their aqua socks?
- serend, on 08/27/2008, -0/+5like speedo?
- Markers, on 08/27/2008, -0/+5Do you honestly think he's there to promote the school's scholastic accomplishments?
- Raider007, on 08/27/2008, -0/+4so what exactly has he done in life except win the medals?
i mean it's great and all that he's won so many, but really i don't care about his life if that's all he's done. - WhoDoneIt, on 08/27/2008, -0/+4Slow down, Dillion, you're going to pop a hemroid.
Distracted by fame and money? How so? You don't just decide to enter "fame". People put you there because they are interested in you or what you do. And if you think for one second that if you saved the life of a cat from a burning tree and someone offered you 1.6 million dollars to write about your life because you are a hero and famous, you would reject it? Right.
Telling someone to slow down is the most STUPID business sense you could offer. Think of him as a corporation. Michael Phelps Corp. Strike while the iron is hot. If he waited 6 months to a year nobody would care as much.
This guy should make as much cash as people are willing to spend on him now. If not, he'll lose out.
And how long do you think it takes to write a book? It won't be out tomorrow.
Distract him? From what? Another chance at the olympics in 4 years from now? Get a grip Hinson.. he's playing his cards right. - megagram, on 08/27/2008, -1/+5Ohhhhh leeraylG88...
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=str ... - bman85, on 08/27/2008, -0/+3Somehow i doubt that.
- chrisduser, on 08/27/2008, -1/+4Will the investments being put in Phelps be worth it?
- donkevin, on 08/27/2008, -0/+3Ghost strokers.
- ziptnf, on 08/27/2008, -0/+3He's already got a million endorsements with huge corporations. Speedo, Mutual of Omaha, Visa, USA Swimming. Those corporations aren't small.
- ChromaVita, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3Actually I don't think we'll be counting for another 4 years
- sco1, on 08/27/2008, -2/+5I on the other hand thought that was Hilarious.
