- AnotherCanadian, on 08/24/2008, -2/+103Any man who sets a world record with his left shoe untied has my trust
- idontlikeyou2, on 08/24/2008, -6/+92Phelps won 8 gold and 7 WR and Bolt gets questioned about drug use ?
- OfNumbers, on 08/24/2008, -5/+59Except for all the Red Stripe and Ganja.
- DannyDriffs, on 08/25/2008, -4/+52World's Fastest Man
And maybe World's Coolest Name - rkingucla, on 08/24/2008, -5/+44and over 14?...
- thegrantman, on 08/24/2008, -0/+34Alcohol? Is someone cheating in the 100 meter stumble?
- Jhiaxuz, on 08/24/2008, -8/+42Because he's American.
That is all. - Nateon, on 08/24/2008, -2/+34I can't stand these olympic *****. "He's too good therefore he must be doping!" It's ironic that they try to promote unity and what not through the Olympics but you have these guys acting like children whining,"Mommy He CHEATED!" Why can't we just respect talent when we see it, and stop acting like 10 year olds.
- inactive, on 08/24/2008, -11/+40Because racism/discrimination/prejudice, whatever you wanna call it, still lingers in mankind and always will. What can ya do?
- bmdubya, on 08/24/2008, -2/+24What? I thought Bolt was like 13. Man, he fooled me.
But seriously, how come whenever someone does a good job in the Olympics, the first thought is always doping. Never hard work or anything like that. People are just jealous that Bolt is so fast, so they have to make excuses why he is that fast. If an American won the gold in the 100, do you think people would suggest doping? I'm just saying that because the New York Times ran a story suggesting doping. - Hockey13, on 08/24/2008, -0/+20I don't think his ego is "over-inflated." After finishing the 100m in WR time, he went straight to his mother and wife and stayed there for a very long time. He hugs his countrymen even though he doesn't know them and he is a true sportsman when it comes to his interactions with other athletes. Perhaps you're seeing a big ego because you don't know his culture very well. Or perhaps you're seeing a big ego because you're jealous of him because he is, without a shadow of a doubt, the fastest person on the planet.
When he said, "I am number one," it wasn't gloating, it was a declaration of absolute fact.
Besides, he's a lot of fun to watch and he turned these track events into something I really didn't think they would be: entertaining. - luet, on 08/24/2008, -1/+21I can testify this fact. I've witnessed Red Stripe literally performing a variant of oral sex on his butthole.
- eLuminx, on 08/24/2008, -3/+22My thought exactly, i read somewhere that Phelps and the rest of the athletes that broke so many records were tested tirelessly. But the NYT put a very nice quote in the article that made me think the same thing you just wrote FTA "But sections of the media remain sceptical. "As Records Fall, Suspicions of Doping Linger", ran a headline on the New York Times website after Bolt's world record run in the 200m." Let the man rejoice his wins, he deserves it for being clean and for breaking such gandious records. I say let him be and congratulate him...
- KeepSwinging, on 08/24/2008, -3/+20Guinness, Red Stripe, Pot; I completely support champions of these fine products
- dhughes, on 08/24/2008, -2/+19 What is Bolt 9 feet tall? Ten steps and he's at the finish line.
- bphicke, on 08/24/2008, -4/+21Phelps was accused of doping...

Evil/racist Americans though right? - mvanhorn, on 08/24/2008, -2/+18I think it was a joke on the potentially underage Chinese gymnasts
- MrARPA, on 08/24/2008, -1/+16>"As Records Fall, Suspicions of Doping Linger", ran a headline on the New York Times website after Bolt's world record run in the 200m.
Since there is precedence for running a 200M at approx 19.3 from Michael Johnson perhaps the NYT should go and ask him what he was taking when he ran 19.32 in Atlanta - or is it just foreigners who are drug cheats ? - NorrisTwithman, on 08/24/2008, -0/+14He just broke 3 world records, including one that's 12 years old and most running experts thought wouldn't be broken in their lifetime. Yeah, he may be a little theatric after (during?) his races, but give him a break, he's happy, and apparently clean.
- teh_spazz, on 08/24/2008, -7/+21clean of performance enhancing drugs....not weed though.
- cresswga, on 08/24/2008, -1/+12It was a reference to some of the Chinese gymnasts who are 14 when the legal age for being allowed to compete is 16.
China forged their passports to make them appear old enough to be eligible.
*allegedly* - redfred18t, on 08/24/2008, -2/+12No, by far Staff Sergeant Max Fightmaster is the world's coolest name.
- chimona, on 08/24/2008, -6/+16Guiness is actually more popular there than Red Stripe. Except for at the resorts.
- steppinrazor88, on 08/24/2008, -0/+9why, cause he's not a square? he has a real personality and doesnt change for olympics. he seems like an awesome guy who i would definitely chill with.
- davodee, on 08/24/2008, -1/+9was his left shoe untied...?
- dn11, on 08/24/2008, -1/+9sentence construction FTL
- infin8, on 08/24/2008, -1/+9kinda makes me think that if it's not US who gets gold, then everyone either is doping or cheating...kinda tarnished the win for the other competitors.
- aceslick911, on 08/24/2008, -0/+7Yeah because a pint of Guinness is really a performance "enhancing" drug..
- inactive, on 08/24/2008, -1/+8Yes.
- ZenMojo, on 08/24/2008, -0/+6They need the ganja to slow them down just enough so the rest of the countries don't just give up and walk away.
- MrARPA, on 08/24/2008, -3/+9>We won. USA won the Olympics.
No, the official medals table shows the US in second place behind China -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Summer_Olympics_ ...
http://results.beijing2008.cn/WRM/ENG/INF/GL/95A/G ...
I gather some US television networks have just been totaling all the medals won without giving higher precedence to gold, silver, etc. . That method might be good for national self esteem but is incorrect. - DigitalMuse, on 08/24/2008, -1/+7Reference to the controversy over the Chinese gymnasts who are probably not over 14.
- WNW3, on 08/24/2008, -2/+7HOORAY BEER!
- bodaciousllama, on 08/24/2008, -0/+5boo creepy foot doctor
- Prathik89, on 08/24/2008, -3/+8No, you came second. Be content with that for once.
- OfNumbers, on 08/24/2008, -2/+7Are we talking New York Jamaicans or just Jamaicans?
- idontlikeyou2, on 08/24/2008, -2/+7No, I brought up Phelps because he won multiple gold and WR. My City's newspaper praised Phelp when he won the gold and WR, but when Bolt won, it was first Roggs retarded comment than the drug accusation but if you insist on playing the I am US victim card, go ahead.
- cnoteakacash, on 08/24/2008, -2/+7It is not like Bolt's teammate Asfa Powell held the word record or anything... oh wait he did at 9.74. Or Donald Quarrie who won Gold and silver in 1976 for Jamaica before doping was a thought. The Jamaicans have a long history in track... bachdog you don't know what you are talking about...its not like swimmers are above cheating...American swimmer Jessica Hardy...
- hockeyplayer66, on 08/24/2008, -1/+5Your comments are naive and don't represent the spirit of the Olympics. You can't throw out a blanket statements like we won the Olympics or we didn't cheat like china did. That is ridiculous. We have plenty of people who have been disqualified after winning medals post olympics. We have better technology and pharmacology to mask cheaters than most countries because we have more cash.
- Prathik89, on 08/24/2008, -0/+4Wait what? Where did China cheat? Okay maybe the gymnastics thing is shadowy, but its not yet proven.
Refrain from making dumbass black/white comments about cheating and winning. - dysonsphere, on 08/24/2008, -1/+5The fact that Bolt/Phelps did not test positive during the completion is not a surprise. Most “performance enhancing” drugs work primarily to enhance training and do not have any miracle effects during competition. During training the testing is under the auspices of the national Olympic committees who have been known to turn a blind eye (see Carl Lewis). But given that everyone is using everything at ther disposal to get the competitive edge it is hard to call it cheating. Seems to me the criminalization of these substances causes more problems than it solves. Check out the film “Bigger, Stronger, Faster” for an interesting perspective on the topic.
- DeviateSeptum, on 08/24/2008, -4/+8My gut instinct says that this guy is a good person and that this speculation is unfounded. I've rarely been wrong about people in my life.
- maddskillz, on 08/24/2008, -0/+4I remember when Donovan Bailey won

He went nuts...as he should have. I don't know why it should be any different for Bolt - Enfenestrate, on 08/24/2008, -1/+5It means he thought he was on Fark
- ry4nsm1th, on 08/24/2008, -0/+3Yea, but a bad one. Maybe putting it after "are clean" wouldn't have completely ruined it.
- compgeek, on 08/24/2008, -1/+4This just looks like other nations getting jealous. he outran them on the track and made it so Jamaica had it's best games ever and now they are just jealous they didn't win that many medals in track. Interesting point is that Phelps wins 8 and no one says a thing but when a jamaican wins oh it must be doping. If that's not a racist line of thought I don't know what is
- sulthernao, on 08/24/2008, -0/+314 rule applies to gymnast only.
- thegrantman, on 08/24/2008, -0/+3I don't know why you're getting buried....you have a valid point.
- elhaf, on 08/24/2008, -1/+4Max Power ftw!
- AoiTakuma, on 08/24/2008, -1/+4Bolt was breaking world records when he was 15. He shattered the junior 200m world record. Saying that he was a no name before these games is wrong.
