- Aliwalla, on 07/20/2008, -0/+39Well, I'm not invited either. So he can come to my place and we can both NOT watch it together over some pints.
- samyoungguitar, on 07/20/2008, -1/+25Maybe because he's in EXILE from China. But, on my deathbed I will receive total consciousness..so I got that going for me, which is nice.
- Ramble, on 07/20/2008, -1/+14Your mother is moist and plentiful though.
- khail250, on 07/20/2008, -7/+19The US needs to Lay off China, and the rest of the worlds affairs. Digg is anti-pro-war people, yet they want to meddle in China's affairs about Tibet?
Tell me, how many people on digg can point to where Tibet is on a map? You all sound like the same morons that are for "freeing" Iraq. - t2t2, on 07/20/2008, -1/+11"Tell me, how many people on digg can point to where Tibet is on a map?"
I can, but then again I'm from Europe... - duckyinc, on 07/20/2008, -0/+9Obviously..
- Totz83, on 07/20/2008, -3/+12Where will he be during the Olympics? In some top hotel, living it up with his band of merry monks. Way to be imaterialistic*

- BeefBaron, on 07/20/2008, -3/+10What is so great about him?
He's just another guy spouting his own brand of nonsense except with more fluorescent clothing. - cgruber, on 07/20/2008, -1/+8And she smells like cheese.
- mdmiamifl, on 07/20/2008, -0/+6This was expected to happen.
- ZombieKiss, on 07/20/2008, -0/+5You know by having the Olympics in China the world will, for the first time, have a torrent of news media that they can't control enter their country. Every country will get to see first hand how bad (or not bad) it actually is--I'd say hold out, some good might come of this.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -13/+18i cant believe this is going on, its not even all about the dali lama although he rocks, its about Tibet. china needs to lay off Tibet or well send Chuck Norris in... or something
- chillypacman, on 07/20/2008, -0/+5wtf are you talking about? the dalai lama is not against china controlling tibet, he's against china destroying tibetan culture. a valid reason to be pead off but something tells me he just wants his palace back.
- Jeffler, on 07/20/2008, -9/+14***** GRILLED CHEESE SANDWHICHES, THEY ARE NOT AS MOIST AND PLENTIFUL AS I ONCE THOUGHT
- Riggs, on 07/20/2008, -1/+5I think you fail to see it from the perspective of people who live in Tibet, who actually believe in their religion and the Dalai Lama. Who are you to say it is wrong for them to believe?
- davepascoe, on 07/20/2008, -6/+10Lama can go ***** himself.
Look, it's this simple: would you let someone to rule your country just because he claims to be the reincarnation of God?
No? Then why should he rule Tibet. Democracy is great except when your dictator wears robes?
People have been brainwashed into thinking anything from the "East" concerning religion is sooooo wonderfully wise and admirable. It's not. It's just the same ***** with a slightly more exotic spin. - traceymclain, on 07/20/2008, -1/+5hmmmm...not a surprise :)
- Wrangler76, on 07/20/2008, -1/+5What police beating down Tibetan resistance? Sources please. Please tell me you're not talking out of your ass.
- smpx, on 07/20/2008, -4/+8China has been letting Taiwan do it's thing for a couple decades now. They send a lot of political messages to each other but NOTHING ever really affects the people. I've lived in both places long enough to know that they just want to do business with each other.
Seriously, before going on political rants, do a little research for yourselves. - sodoh, on 07/20/2008, -1/+5I know people seem to think I am lying or something but it is an actual fact that the Dalai lama took money from the CIA to help fund insurgents in Tibet.
It was even reported in newspapers and on Television in the USA at that time. Heck even Penn and Teller did a bit on it on their show recently. I didn't even mention the kickbacks he was claimed to be getting (as he has denied it).
Here is the NYT story where the Dalai Lama even confirms it.

Sure what China is doing there isn't good but he isn't much of a spiritual leader either. - hwy9nightkid, on 07/20/2008, -4/+8How is any of this a surprise..? I'll be surprised when the West wakes up and finds China doesn't really care about it once it surpasses it economically.
- Aliwalla, on 07/20/2008, -7/+10Yes, like Apartheid in South Africa was "none of our business", like the Holocaust was "none of of our business", like the Trail of Tears was "none of our business", like Darfur is "none of our business", like the British empire in India was "none of our business", like Zimbabwe is "none of our business", like Burma is "none of our business".
I'm not American, but I, without hesistation, tell you that if "America is a lost cause" then we are all *****. Do you honestly want China to be the next super power? Do you honestly think many, many good institutions will not collapse without the US's support? Please. There is so much good in America, please don't deny that. - Wake101, on 07/20/2008, -4/+7Send Jackie Chan with windshield wipers instead.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -3/+6The Dalai Lama is a hypocrite. He travels the world in Gucci shoes living in expensive hotels preaching a lifestyle without worldly pleasures. He preaches peace but promotes wars behind closed doors:
He was employed by the United States government for God's sake. He made hundreds of thousands of dollars each year as a puppet for the West to tell his people to uprise against China--promoting violence and training rebels. This is confirmed by the CIA agents that worked his case.
They built a training facility in Colorado ($400,000+) with your tax dollars to train Tibetan rebels to use violence against the Chinese.
He is a terrorist leader employed by the West. That is why he won the Nobel Prize. Because he is their puppet. Don't you ever wonder why he has such a positive spin in the media?
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ze2DVZF-Llg
He also persecutes Tibetans who worship another diety, Dorje Shugden.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=n5sOm-uQH9Y&feature=rel ... - ZeeZee2k, on 07/20/2008, -0/+3Oh please, all those things made in china are not their contributions to the world? They only take and take and take?
- neFariou5, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2Can we come too?
- Wrangler76, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2Nepal is not in China. It's a different country. So, "***** Nepal" would've been more appropriate.
- Wrangler76, on 07/20/2008, -1/+3Who are you to say that's what they believe? The uprising in the 1950s failed hard because of lack of support from the general public even though it was funded by the CIA. The recent riots have been reported to be mainly because of socioeconomic reasons and ethnic hatred contrary to the popular belief that it's because they want to separate. It's hilarious how Westerners can so easily say "Free Tibet" or talk about how great the Dalai Lama is when they know ***** all about history.
- bermudianguy, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2Except Jackie Chan is Chinese .
- buckchoris, on 07/20/2008, -1/+3Slave labor?
Thats what most of the American companies/greedy businessmen want more work less pay thats the reason jobs get outsourced to China and India. - heldlik, on 07/20/2008, -1/+3Yes it's sad init? how China removed Tibet from the map.
- hark659, on 07/20/2008, -1/+3BOYCOTT CHINA OLYMPIC!!
- diggit23, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2how could beloved krusty the clown not get invited?
- bluechild, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2And by "real issues" I guess you mean oil, arms industry, drug experiments in third world countries etc, right ?
- trippinlikegod, on 07/20/2008, -1/+3Yes avengingturnip keep eating that crap they've been feeding people since the middle ages. You are much easier to control when you believe this life isn't important or that everything happens for a reason or that the stars or the fates have decided your life and there's nothing you can do but sit back and enjoy the ride. Think for yourself, religion is moral control.
- felman87, on 07/20/2008, -3/+5Send in Chuck Norris? Wasn't he killed by Bruce Lee?
- allan17, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1I guess the people digging you down needed a /sarcasm tag...
- Wrangler76, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1Finally, someone else has mentioned this. You are literally the first person that I've met that has mentioned that the CIA supports the Dalai Lama and his Exile government. They also supported the Tibet Uprising in the 1950s by training and funding the guerillas by the way.
Of course, it's no surprise you're getting dugg down by a community that is full of ignorant tools who listen to their MSM all the time (except when it comes to Obama) - avengingturnip, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1@Trippin - The Sermon on the Mount occurred circa 30 A.D. It predated the middle ages by quite a number of years.
I cannot imagine why you think this life is not important or that the stars or fates control your life or that you are powerless. Me, I would rather believe that: every life is precious, that what we do matters not just in this life but also the next, and that no matter how difficult things seem that there is always hope.
That is just me though. You carry on. - fish0507, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1http://www.canada.com/edmontonjournal/news/story.h ...

The Tibet myth by a well known social commentator. It's also interesting that he talks about Mother Theresa living in luxury in another article.
Anyhow, why don't people talk about the Uyghurs, who outnumber the Tibetans and also have been vying for independance in China? Because they're Muslim? Their liberation groups are listed as terrorists by most countries while several months ago Tibetan monks "peacefully" set fire to stores and cities. - allan17, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1I'm glad to hear that the CIA is actually doing something, rather than justing sitting on their asses. China itself is not the problem, its government is. I don't want to world being bullied by communists who have already proved that they don't give a ***** about killing their own citizens and who censor everything they don't agree with.
China will replace the US as the next super power, and everyone who thought the US was doing a bad job will ***** their pants when they see what China has in store. - Wrangler76, on 07/20/2008, -1/+2Wow, I was waiting for someone to blame inflation on China. China is the reason you can get all this cheap ***** from Wal-Mart. They BUY those natural resources. What about India? What about USA? What about every other developed country that consumes large amounts of natural resources? Pick a new scapegoat.

- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1 Q: Can you also understand the needs of a woman who might not be able to raise a child?
A: When I was in Lithuania a few years ago, I visited a nursery and I was told, "All these children are unwanted." So I think it is better that that situation be stopped right from the beginning -- birth control. Of course, abortion, from a Buddhist viewpoint, is an act of killing and is negative, generally speaking. But it depends on the circumstances. If the unborn child will be retarded or if the birth will create serious problems for the parent, these are cases where there can be an exception. I think abortion should be approved or disapproved according to each circumstance.

"In his 1996 book Beyond Dogma: Dialogues and Discourses, he said that homosexuality was wrong. He later clarified that homosexuality was wrong because it involved the use of the mouth, rectum and/or hands as opposed to only using genitalia. He added that the use of the mouth, rectum and hands are also proscribed in heterosexual encounters."
http://thewickedwoman.com/2007/03/08/his-holiness- ... - inactive, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1I'm not sure what your intentions were, but these are NEPALESE police.
CNN pulled the same BS by showing images of Nepal's police beating Tibetans and juxtaposing the images with tags like "Chinese crack down on Tibet".
Totally ridiculous. - flashback99, on 07/20/2008, -2/+3"When the Dalai Lama has been asked whether homosexuality is a sin, for instance, he has explained that according to the holy writings, it is. He doesn't go for revisionism. But then he is likely to add that we all have sins, and in the eyes of Buddhism, all sins are equal".
"[T]he Dalai Lama has denounced abortion as a sin against "non-violence to all sentient beings," opposed contraception and criticized proponents of euthanasia - much as the pope has done."
The anti gay anti abortion Dalai Lama is full of *****. - Wrangler76, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1Aliwalla: And what has any country done to help out with those horrible incidents? No one gives a ***** about Chechnya. No one gives a ***** about Zimbabwe. No one gives a ***** about Darfur. People put on a face and become Internet Tough Guys to complain about these incidents, but they do nothing. The only massive protests about anything has been about Tibet/China. Now, why is that? Could it be because Americans see China has a new, rising threat?
Now let me ask you: Do you even know what happened during the Tibet Riots, and WHY they occurred? I ask this because no one seems to know around these parts. The fact that you compare the Holocaust and the situation in Zimbabwe to Tibet tells me that you have no clue what you're talking about.

The Chinese response was relatively non-violent, similar to the response to the LA race riots (or even better since 10,000 were arrested in those). Now, the Tibetans violently riot, burn stores, and beat people (including children) because of their socioeconomic compaints (NOT independence- try looking at something other than CNN), and CHINA is in the wrong here for trying to peacefull stop them? Give me a god damn break. - davepascoe, on 07/20/2008, -2/+3Tibetan culture? you mean cutting off limbs and gouging out eyes for the slightest offense?
