  • timethief, on 10/30/2008, -0/+1China is a coal dependent country and the air quality is abominable. If I were an Olympic athlete I would think long and hard before I competed in such a polluted environment. No wonder top athletes with asthma will not make that choice. "Beijing residents were told to hold their breaths for two minutes every hour to minimize the amount of carbon dioxide released into the air."
