- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -4/+54This one guy made an amazingly great and well done logo for London 2010..I really dont know why he didn't get chosen or at least get some more attention... i guess people are just short sighted nowadays when it comes to true artwork... *sigh*

- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -2/+29Looks pretty sweet.
I hate to be the Useless Comment Guy™ for this article, but that's really all I have to say. - nick7er, on 08/30/2008, -1/+24This looks friggin amazing! But if each Olympics host has an insane instinct to be more impressive than the last one, I would like to see what the Olympics would look like 20 years from now!
- damack, on 08/30/2008, -1/+23I'm really proud to have the Olympics in my back yard I'm looking forward to it.
We're not going to be able to pull off what Beijing did we're in economic trouble we don't have the billions to spare but we will do a good job I'm sure of it.
Personally I'd like to see some of our heritage get shown with Wimbledon and Wembley coming into play where we can squeeze them in. It's going to be a fun 2 weeks or so! - jheimark, on 08/30/2008, -0/+19i think they actually meant to say "East London is one of London's poorest areas"
- Suil, on 08/30/2008, -7/+20Don't be surprised if, in four years' time, the Olympic torch is carried into the stadium in East London by Jade Goody, following a march past by the Bradford chapter of Islamic Jihad, a 21-gun salute from the Brixton Crazee Eyez Killaz drive-by shooting posse - and a concert by Gary Glitter.
That's if they've managed to shift the illegal gipsy camp off the track and field in time and the whole complex hasn't been shut down by elf 'n'safety. - Azzzzy, on 08/30/2008, -2/+14Wow, this web server is so slow.
- lopla, on 08/30/2008, -0/+12Have they gotten rid of that stupid ass logo yet? The blocky one that looks like a cartoon giving head? I sure hope so.
- Darkaged, on 08/30/2008, -0/+10London simply cannot beat Beijing, and It isn't London's target to do so either.
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -0/+10Welcome to Digg...
We knock down servers all the time... - Cheezeburgar, on 08/30/2008, -2/+11U.K has to work pretty hard if they want to beat Beijing 2008.
- paaaaaaaaaa, on 08/30/2008, -1/+10Took me a minute.
- TheDHC, on 08/30/2008, -0/+8"genna"
- KegBol, on 08/30/2008, -2/+10Yes, because we generate no revenue from within our own shores. We rely entirely on stolen bullion from the colonies.
*****. This is the 21st Century. The only colonies we have left are the crap ones, like the South Sandwich Isles, the Falklands etc. etc. - NecroSexy, on 08/30/2008, -0/+8Since when is finding a twelve year-old female gymnast hard?
- drumpat01, on 08/30/2008, -0/+720 years isn't a long time, so hopefully you will still be alive to see that :)
- jheimark, on 08/30/2008, -1/+8Pretty stadiums don't quite make up for the logo.
- Rawler, on 08/30/2008, -1/+8Admit it, The Bird's Nest in Beijing does resemble a bedpan when viewed from an elevated, and distant, perspective. This is especially true when the steel cross-hatching becomes indiscernible, as it does when viewing from far away.
for example:

- Owwmykneecap, on 08/31/2008, -1/+7you look fine.
- Supersonic1980, on 08/31/2008, -0/+6MMMMM Sandwich Isles.....
- Enlefo, on 08/30/2008, -0/+6Yeah... Apparently London can only wear their sunglasses at night. This will be the first nocturnal Olympics in history.
- hakluytbean, on 08/30/2008, -0/+6I don't think London aims to beat Beijing. China spent something like £20 ($36) billion, London is budgeted for about £9 ($16) billion. Still, not too shabby.
- Supersonic1980, on 08/31/2008, -1/+7meh,so long as we do something British and classy it doesn't matter if it isn't as big as Beijing,we're only tiny yet look at our influence on history/the world.I'm sure it'll be just lovely.
- Chicken, on 08/30/2008, -0/+6Don't forget about protests. Protests are the newest things now!

- ixid, on 08/31/2008, -0/+5Help get the logo changed - make sure everyone knows it's Lisa Simpson giving head.
- sonycam, on 08/30/2008, -0/+5Don't be silly, who needs 5000 Chinese drummers when you have David Beckham.
- Czechxican, on 08/31/2008, -0/+5Andrew Lloyd Weber could help out.

- sg7791, on 08/31/2008, -0/+5Oh! It's a man stretching his *****. Like Goatse!
- lcmatt, on 08/30/2008, -1/+6Everyone knows we won't beat it. We don't have billions to spend like the Chinese did but I'm sure we'll put on a great performance.
- PetroSan, on 08/30/2008, -0/+5Ha, man - I forgot about that. For a minute I was thinking "Why is this guy so damn torn up about this pathetic excuse for a logo?" ...and then my mind went dirty.
- Harbinger67, on 08/30/2008, -1/+5Needs more totalitarianism.
- NathanMahdavi, on 08/30/2008, -0/+4Really?
- bmson, on 08/30/2008, -0/+3Nice to see them in London.
I'm just a 2 hour flight-trip away so I think I'll visit London in 2012. - Pinkertinkle, on 08/30/2008, -7/+10Let's hop on the China hate bandwagon!
- dullnation, on 08/31/2008, -1/+4Well, the architects were gonna do it a week before the opening but they had nothing better to do now...
- bmson, on 08/30/2008, -2/+5The sure have to get a new Mayor, Boris Johnson was way to "British" on the Beijing closing ceremony hehe...
At least we'll have good music in the opening ceremony. - stoanhart, on 08/31/2008, -0/+3I have a feeling the Olympics is going to get flashier and flashier to the point where it's more about how much money the host country can waste... I mean spend on them. Eventually, most countries will be priced out, while those that can keep up will massively increase their debts to do so. Once a competition becomes all about the venue and not about the content, it dies. See E3 for an example.
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -0/+3heh heh. torn up.
- oli35, on 08/31/2008, -0/+3Better than 'I like turtles'
- Rev0lver, on 08/30/2008, -3/+6Yeah, lets forgive them for violating human rights constantly just because they wow'd us with a fancy opening ceremony!
- LanceUppercut, on 08/31/2008, -0/+2sweet iridescent maxi-pad.
- LanceUppercut, on 08/31/2008, -0/+2Not me, can't un-see that.
