- werdywerd, on 10/02/2009, -8/+305OBVIOUSLY, the IOC took into consideration which cities vollyball players look the sexiest. Good job IOC. I completely agree with you.
Tokyo = Flat Ass
Chicago = Fat ass

- abhi2223, on 10/02/2009, -20/+227Fox News is probably gonna turn this into how the world doesn't like Obama thats why Chicago didnt get the Olympics :(
- jdames1980, on 10/02/2009, -4/+178Rio deserves it. I can't believe the Olympics have never been hosted in South America before.
- anderzole, on 10/02/2009, -19/+171Looks like Oprah and Obama have no pull. Maybe MJ should have gone
- jstohler, on 10/02/2009, -3/+148Be honest -- would you rather visit Rio or Chicago?
- apackofmonkeys, on 10/02/2009, -3/+147***** you, two of my friends died losing an Olympic bid.
- inactive, on 10/02/2009, -10/+150"I've never really had a disappointment like this," said Ken Rudd, a 33-year-old salesman from Evergreen Park. "This is one of the saddest things I've ever seen."
Are you ***** serious? The 2004 Tsunami, Iran protests and Katrina? No, those weren't sad at all. - rwbrinso, on 10/02/2009, -5/+120CAR-NE-VAAAAAAAAAAL!!!
- isaacand, on 10/02/2009, -10/+125ouch Chicago
- joejitsu, on 10/02/2009, -3/+104True, but there is also lots of ugly women.
- Intention, on 10/02/2009, -7/+107clearly it wasn't
- jimbodeenie, on 10/02/2009, -2/+97It will be lika a big Fanta commercial. Dontcha Wanna!
- ClaireQuilty, on 10/02/2009, -5/+90South America has never hosted an Olympic Games and Brazil has one of the strongest economies in the developing world. It makes sense that they got the bid even though I think it would have been nice to see Chicago get it.
- c3rb85, on 10/02/2009, -8/+88And then Glenn Beck will say something about how Rio got it because the US has Atheists
- HIFIsamurai, on 10/02/2009, -3/+83Extreme Brazilian bikinis FTW!
- mrbubby, on 10/02/2009, -6/+62I was hoping for Chicago, but there's no way it's not going to be more awesome in Rio.
- newman8r, on 10/02/2009, -0/+54no, kap - you misunderstood - anderzole was obviously talking about digging up michael jackson and setting him up as a marionette to wow the olympic committee
actually, that would have been pretty epic - echan, on 10/02/2009, -1/+52Rio is in the southern hemisphere so it will be winter there
- joculator, on 10/02/2009, -3/+52Yeah, there's no crime in Rio.
- ftc08, on 10/02/2009, -4/+53Before people start making fun of Obama for all of this, realize that the leaders of Spain and Japan were also there making sales pitches. As well as the President of Brazil.
Though, having an Olympics in the South America for the first time is a pretty good reason for Brazil to take it. - inactive, on 10/02/2009, -3/+51So is the Brazilian government going to bulldoze the City of God?
- echan, on 10/02/2009, -8/+55Congrats Brazil!!
- akaakc, on 10/02/2009, -2/+47Oh man, you had me worried there for a minute. I thought you were talking about footwear, but then you were like, "...and I don't mean the footwear!" Thanks for the clarification.
- Skywise, on 10/02/2009, -1/+46You like fish sticks?
- dhspress, on 10/02/2009, -8/+53Rio deserves it.
- Bukowsky, on 10/02/2009, -5/+49I've been to Chicago.. It was a nice stay, but nothing like what I'd imagine Rio to be like. I'd pick Rio anyday over Chicago.
- Sanderson9009, on 10/02/2009, -7/+45The President of the United States of America, brings talk show host Oprah Winfrey along for the ride.
Facepalm. - Daxx22, on 10/02/2009, -0/+37Very true. Brazil (and equatorial countries in general) are very much the essence of Extremely Hot or Extremely Not.
- iskin, on 10/02/2009, -2/+37Time to get the Rosetta Stone Portuguese torrent!
- DeadFox1, on 10/02/2009, -2/+34dugg for proper CAPS usage
- StigNordas, on 10/02/2009, -0/+30I predict a 2-month hangover.
- inactive, on 10/02/2009, -8/+37I know don't you hate it when ***** make everything political?.
- Ichiban1081, on 10/02/2009, -1/+27Nothing wrong with that. Out of those 4 I would rather see some nice Brazilian ass in HD when I'm tuning into the Olympics.
- kkm3, on 10/02/2009, -0/+26The fact that you are so serious about clearly a joke makes you look like a moron.
- jfield1, on 10/02/2009, -5/+30I prefer the Duran Duran song to the city.
- Shazam999, on 10/02/2009, -0/+25She still has lots of gravitational pull.
- alwilson, on 10/02/2009, -3/+28why be so negative *****? perhaps the olympics will inspire the country to make the improvements they need.
- BossKey, on 10/02/2009, -2/+27Oh come on, Chicago dodged a bullet. Just talk to some ordinary Vancouverites about their upcoming Winter Olympics...they're absolutely dreading it. Big companies come into town, turn everything upside down, inconvenience the actual residents, and take all the profits out of town with them afterwards, leaving the local citizens with some huge building debts. That's even the situation in Beijing now, and even more tragically in Athens.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article- ... - capheine, on 10/02/2009, -0/+24Oh damn, you're right. I feel like an idiot now.
Looks like the highs will only be in the low 80's. That's not too bad! - andyb747, on 10/02/2009, -2/+26I don't think you have been anywhere outside of the U.S.
I don't even think you have been to Chicago. - pathouston22, on 10/02/2009, -4/+27"racial inequality"
Yeah, as one of the only major powers in the world to have a minority as President.
Every country has racial inequality issues. - CafeMedia, on 10/02/2009, -13/+35I also can't help but think that anti-American sentiments may have played a role. I reviewed some international newspapers yesterday, and the prevailing attitude seemed to be that the United States was not deserving of the Olympics. Surprisingly, the health care debate, racial inequality, and what is perceived as an onerous Visa application process were cited as reasons why the Olympics should not be awarded to an American city.
I have to admit I'm not horribly surprised. I think the U.S. has a long way to go to correct some of the foreign policy missteps from the past several years.
But as a sports fan, I'm saddened that the biggest sporting event in the world won't be in Chicago. As a Latino, I'm happy that either South America or Spain have a shot at showing off their cities.
As a Chicagoan, I'm wondering what went wrong and what this means for Mayor Richard Daley.

What do you think happened? - Lloydinator, on 10/02/2009, -5/+26The one thing I love about the Olympics is learning about another culture. Although I would love to learn whatever there is left to learn about the US, I'm even more psyched to learn about Brazil.
- BigBambino, on 10/02/2009, -4/+24They should have awarded it to North Korea as a joke.
2012 are the last Olympics anyways... - wild, on 10/02/2009, -2/+21Drudge already did the report you are looking for...
- joejitsu, on 10/02/2009, -2/+21Maybe it had something to do with the the rest of the countries having already hosted the olympics before, with the USA hosting several.
- inactive, on 10/02/2009, -1/+19Just watch for the trannies, Brazil has alot of them.
