Zeitgeist the movie Wikipedia article had been deleted!

This article was made in the form of a description of the movie (like a lot of Wikipedia's movie articles), yet it was removed because some people just didn't like it.
- drachemorder, on 10/23/2007, -1/+1I don't think you understand Wikipedia's policy. Their policy is that a subject is not notable unless it is referred to in reputable sources. That policy applies regardless of the merits of the topic in question. For the record, I don't particularly agree with Wikipedia's deletion or notability policies, and therefore I think the article should exist. However, I do think the policies are being applied correctly in this case by people who believe in those policies, and it isn't an attempt at censorship or suppression.
- jessicass, on 10/23/2007, -2/+6Censorship issue aside, I think it is a bit obnoxious to assert that because the movie has not had any formal reviews and media coverage that it is not "notable." You would think that wikipedia of all places would understand the concept of "internet notability" and would have the the foresight to know that it is a matter of time before it becomes recognized on a larger scale. I think that the 80,000 + specific hits through google ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Zeitgeist_the_Movie ) would indicate that it is noteworthy.
- hardwire187, on 10/23/2007, -2/+8Zeitgeist the movie is perhaps the best piece of 'documentary' film making I've ever seen. It simultaneously enlightens, angers, and saddens me. This puts a sinking feeling in my stomach, but at the same time it's justification for the message contained in the film.

- FluffyWolf, on 10/23/2007, -1/+5It is very strange that wikipedia has no article on the movie, I haven't seen the whole movie but since it made some interesting claims I was interested to see which ones were valid and which ones were weak. And the only thing on the subject on wikipedia was a huge deletion argument page. This movie should be mentioned on wikipedia, and seems to be censored for very strange reasons.

Scholars laughed off the claims because they had no basis (well, they did - on "conspiracy theories"). You guys - please do your own research.
Heck - even the legendary Maddox did a document in the style of these "movies".

Strange how people want to believe in these outrageous conspiracy theories and take it for a fact.

- Curlz31, on 10/22/2007, -1/+4Just because scholars think its ***** doesn't mean people shouldn't have the right to watch it and decide for themselves. This is supposed to be an open society with a free exchange of ideas. People are allowed to say whatever they want. If the guy who made the movie wants to say Jesus didn't exist then that's his right. Wikipedia is supposed to be "the red cross for information". It's existence and popularity means it deserves an entry on wikipedia, it's content is irrelevant. For example they have an entry for 'The Eternal Jew' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eternal_Jew_%28fi ... .........most people would say its content is ***** but the fact that it exists and is well known means it deserves an entry. What this comes down to is the likelihood that wikipedia is largely controlled and censored by the intelligence agencies in the United States.

People should know that just because something is presented to them as fact doesn't mean you have to believe it. It's up to each individual to judge. People need to learn not to believe everything they see on tv and the internet, EVEN if it is coming from their government. Thats exactly how the story of the 19 muslim hijackers was distributed.
