Millions believe this man is the Antichrist
living.scotsman.com — The Devil has arranged to meet me in the lobby of a London tourist hotel. He doesn't look like Satan. No horns, no tail, no pitchfork, no smoke and sulphur. He's of medium height, thinning hair, wearing a smart shirt and tie. He's immediately warm, friendly, open and assured. I like him.

- Prohest, on 10/10/2007, -55/+23I support growns ups right to pork whatever they want to. Personally my mantra is; Animal, Mineral or Vegtable, I'll do anything to anything (except kids). But being a gay Bishop is totally ridicoulous. The book clearly wants christians to kill the gay men, whenever they get the chance. The idea that you can pick and choose the things you belive in/work for like its up for discussion is the height of willfull ignorance. At least the creation/evangelical nutcases are consistent and obey the book. So dont kid your self, if you belive in God you support; killing gays, the right to enslave your daughters, stoning and killing annoying/disrespectfull kids, rape, massmurder and discrimination and the list goes on.
Thats why I say: Ban all religions !!!- Prokaryote, on 10/10/2007, -19/+36"Ban all religions"
You're an idiot. - McLumpy, on 10/10/2007, -16/+22"So dont kid your self, if you belive in God you support; killing gays, the right to enslave your daughters, stoning and killing annoying/disrespectfull kids, rape, massmurder and discrimination and the list goes on."
You don't have to follow Old Testament law to believe in God, *****.- shadomynd, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1wtf does "belive" mean?
- profertel, on 10/10/2007, -5/+16You forgot to say have sex with your daughters, like Lot.
- VirtualCtor, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1It wasn't Lot's choice. He was raped by his daughters. They got him drunk and took advantage of him.
They were sinners, and got punished for it.
- VirtualCtor, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1It wasn't Lot's choice. He was raped by his daughters. They got him drunk and took advantage of him.
- trippinlikegod, on 10/10/2007, -12/+12I love how people pick and choose. "I'm a christian but I pretend the old testament doesn't exist"... get real. Don't buy the cow and bitch about the udder.
- fantasticFlan, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8So you don't actually know what distinguishes the new and old testaments, but you still feel comfortable talking about it.
- FlyingSpaghetti, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Dude, the udder is totally the best part of a cow!
- jessekeys, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8if you want to get on this level at least know what you're talkin about... jesus changed a lot. e.g. after his sacrifice there were no need for animal offerings anymore and so on.
@ prohest: just because the bible says gay love isn't right doesn't mean they should be killed or anything. christians who do that have not understood a single word of what jesus wanted to teach...
god, i hate it when religious topics pop up on digg because everyone wants to tell their opinion while 90% that gets posted is just plain ignorant fud from people who haven't even read the bible (or koran) itself...
- hollowex, on 10/10/2007, -4/+13Jesus changed those laws. Read the sermon on the mount. Love thy neighbor, Jesus says love thy enemy. so on and so forth. Jesus basically said let people be and think and believe what they want. Tell them the truth and if they don't want to hear it then let it be.
- panicofficer, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Have you read your Bible lately?
Matthew 5:17-18
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."
I'm not saying Prohest's theology is any better (by far worse) but he is apparently just trying to start a flame war.- hollowex, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Operative phrase "until everything is accomplished" Then on the cross he says "it is finished" whether this is what he is talking about or not is up for debate.
- panicofficer, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Have you read your Bible lately?
- greyghst168, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12If you had ever actually read the Bible, you'd know that the laws in the Old Testament were part of the old covenant between God and the Israelites. Once Jesus came and died and rose from the dead, people were no longer required to adhere to the old laws. Instead, they were to simply love God and love their neighbors as themselves. So yes, you can be a Christian and pretend the old testament does not exists, but most Christians acknowledge and study the Old Testament because it not only contains a great deal of history, but it also contains some very wise rules and practices that can still be applied today.
- tony134340, on 10/10/2007, -8/+6Damn the Christfags in here. You're all living in a fantasy world. There is no Abrahamic God, no Jesus, No Allah. Pardon the wining but I have to hear the wining between all the religious ***** out there myself. I raped Jesus, I killed Allah, and I piss on God. ***** ***** *****?
- kebwi, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Banning religion would just make it "cool".

- terrordome, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6God is not a requirement for religion, and neither is religion a requirement for God.

this is where the truth begins - CannedMango, on 10/10/2007, -8/+70BREAKING: millions of people ain't none too bright.
- Spytap, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Well at the very least, half of them are of below-average intelligence...
- EntropyMan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10And even fewer know the difference between the mean and the median.
- fredkreuger, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18Mean is what bad people are, and the median is in the middle of the road.
- Angostura, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1I always like the number of legs illustration for people who confuse averages:
Over 99.9% of the population have more than the mean number of legs.
Fewer than .1% of the population have the median number of legs
More than 99% of the population have the mode number of legs.
The mode is 2 legs, the median is 1 leg and the mean is something like 1.999 legs - assuming a few people have had one or both legs amputated.
If you like to you mean=average, you can simply say "most people have more than the average number of legs" which can confuse some people.- mistarojaz, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1wow that completely resolved my confusion!
- EntropyMan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10And even fewer know the difference between the mean and the median.

- MasterThief117, on 10/10/2007, -11/+46That's funny. I would have thought Bush already took that position.
- Seph7, on 10/10/2007, -1/+28Na, for it to be Bush the title would have to read "Billions believe this man is the Antichrist"
- slayerab, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2No, contrary to the Digg (and rest of the world) stream of thought, there are many in America who still think Bush is a deity
- sinurgy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Actually the "antichrist" is supposed to be very charming, endearing and a uniter. I'd say Bush easily fails on all three of those accounts.
- shadomynd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I vaguely remember something I skimmed over saying that President Bush was in fact Jesus Christ reborn. I had a brief laugh at the time, but now that I look back on it I feel slightly fearful.

Why do adults make up this stuff?- Dichotomic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1you sir, are made of pure stupid. The combination of symbols "!" and "=" in sequential order do not mean that the first term equals the second; rather, it is exactly the opposite.
- Scottamus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1OMG Satan is going to sodomize us. It was his plan all along!
- BeyondGoodNEvil, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Though you've gotta wonder what goes through people's heads if he were to do a sermon on Sodom and Gomorrah. The bible explicitly says homosexuality is condemnable. "Christians" who tolerate homosexuality aren't. Accepting gays as priests only aids in the downfall of that religion.

- xW1TN3SSx, on 10/10/2007, -1/+45I believe that the anti-christ was supposed to come across as a wiseman until just before the rapture. The fact that millions are assuming this guy is the spawn of satan is the #1 reason he's not.

- Echarter, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Big deal, a Bishop is openly gay. The real shocker is that the Church supported public torture, and hangings. Murdering thousands of innocent, normal, and natural people. Using trickery, fear, and manipulation to seize land and riches.
I wonder if people were all up in arms like they are over this when they realized that the sermon on the mount was ignored, and a blind eye was cast. That is not what is meant by turning the other cheek.
Did Jesus pick and choose?
There is no love in power and fear.
At least there is love in that Bishops heart.- minox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1You understand that he is an Episcopalian bishop and not a Catholic one, right? I'm sure you were commenting on the Catholic church.
- khellendros1984, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Every church is run by humans. People tend to do bad things. Therefore, over time human organizations tend to be concentrated sources of bad stuff. This includes churches, government...you name it.
The organizations aren't worthy of trust on their own. That's why the well-constructed ones are supposed to provide open information about how they're working and a method to remove corruptions. - LordMorpheus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Yeah dude, thats totally the catholics.
yknow those whole crusades and all. great. but we (I being Catholic) have got much less of a problem with gay people than other christians. they all think they are inherently going to hell. which is utter *****.
our problem is the whole "we touch little boys" thing
why the hell did we think "vow of chastity" was a good idea?
- norman619, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4FTA: Christians the world over are convinced - absolutely assured - that this man is the Antichrist. They believe he is the Devil, sent to destroy the church from within.
Sorry but they don't need the devil for this task. They have been doing a bang up job all by themselves for a while now. - Kitsune818, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Weird, I expected some cult figure, instead it's my churches bishop! I haven't met him myself, but he is spoken very highly of. New Hampshire Episcopals occasionally get treated a bit different, though, because we've got a gay bishop and a few gay priests. Personally I don't get why it matters so much.
Oh, and we've got female priests too. The horror!!- iamdan1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1He may be spoken highly of, but he is that good of a bishop. All he cares about is the gay issue, and not anything else that is happening in the world. He is forcing the church to tear itself apart. He always just talks about being gay, and won't address any other important issues.
- bytecolor, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Oh come on, fudge packing and the clergy go together like mom and apple pie.
- TJATL, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2More Christians would say Hillary Clinton is the Antichrist over this gay bishop. Buried as inaccurate.
- CLShortFuse, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Millions believe there is one antichrist.
John 2:18 & 19 says: 18 Young children, it is the last hour, and, just as YOU have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of our sort; for if they had been of our sort, they would have remained with us. But [they went out] that it might be shown up that not all are of our sort.
Antichrists, plural. It's just people who are against Christ and Christ's people. But people believe what they want to believe, like those who believe that one gay bishop is the one and only antichrist or that Satan, an invisible angel that chose to oppose God, has a physical body with horns and a tail. First Amendment's freedom of religion = freedom to believe whatever the hell you want, even if it contradricts itself. - smek2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1An openly gay Bishop? - Night, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I think he might be a good person. I can accept that he is gay but I do not think he should be a representative of any church of God that has stated that homosexuality is against its belief. Any Christian church in existence can not deny that homosexuality is against their belief you just can't. I'm a strong supporter of love the sinner hate the sin, but its wrong having him be a representative of their church.
