Girls who Glorify their Shameful Drunken Antics on Facebook (NSFW PICS)
dailymail.co.uk — Drunkenly dancing on tables or collapsing in the street used to be a source of acute embarrassment for young women the morning after the night before. Today, they are more likely to boast about it - to the world, with pictures - on social networking sites.

- aywwts4, on 11/07/2007, -1/+62That would be hilarious, everyone in the office whispering that your fetish is drunk 19-21 year olds with their pants around their ankles vomiting on themselves.

- bethehammer, on 11/07/2007, -1/+6LeeSoong is absolutely right, after I graduated from college I spent weeks scouring the internet for any pictures of me doing drugs, drunk as hell, naked, getting naked or engaging in obscene acts. It worked and I was able to delete them all. Although with some serious research some of the less racy photos can be found. Just google your name and see what comes up - its really interesting and potential employers all do it - these girls are probably just going to college for their MRS anyways.
- CedEx, on 11/06/2007, -0/+0Worst part would be if you have the same name as a porn star. I feel sorry for some of these girls out there.

- davidrools, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1I make a routine of checking facebook for people I'm interviewing. There's some serious things about a potential coworkers' character that you won't get in an interview. Plus, the fact that they don't know how to change their privacy settings doesn't suggest much responsibility or attention to detail.

- mcmlxxii, on 11/07/2007, -1/+9ok this is the Daily Mail, the most hypocritical, permanently mock-outraged, prudish, right wing, scaremongering, elderly load of drivel to be published in the uk on a daily basis. Calling it a newspaper is giving it far more credit than it deserves, so I won't.

- meatmcguffin, on 11/06/2007, -2/+9Ah, i missed that bit. Still, pretty low of the Mail to print names and locations along with the pictures.
- meatmcguffin, on 11/06/2007, -2/+27Stupid Digg comment system. Ah well, might as well use this double comment to point out that the Mail is a stupid, borderline racist, xenophobic, hate filled, blame-everyone-but-themselves, fox-newsesque, pathetic excuse for a chip wrapper
- djm101, on 11/07/2007, -1/+12Correct. I am ***** fed up of seeing Daily Mail articiles reach the front page of Digg.
Look at one of the comments of a reader: "Shameful - and plays into the hands of Islam. Where are our leaders(political, Church etc)? Where are our role models?"
***** hell. - Audacitor, on 11/06/2007, -0/+1@mcguffin
I don't think that's low. It was already posted on Facebook, these girls willingly made the pics, their names, and their locations public. I think the Mail is actually just making a point. - saladinzero, on 11/06/2007, -0/+2The Daily Mail does not make points. The Daily Mail is a rag. Points cannot be found within the confines of its covers, because it simply panders to the prejudices and preconceptions of its readership. It makes me sad to see trash like the Daily Mail getting pushed to the front page of Digg.

- lOvOl, on 11/10/2007, -70/+499I wish more people understood the long-term damage done to your health by alcohol and drug abuse. Alcohol in particular is really bad for the brain, especially in large quantities and really bad for women as they don't have as much of an enzyme that guys have that helps clear alcohol out of your system (this is why women pound for pound get more drunk on the same amount of alcohol as men).
For brain health in particular, alcohol is really bad for you and binge drinking has permanent effects that don't really rear their ugly head until middle and advanced age. I know people who are almost 40 and have lived a life of hard partying and they have the minds of an 80 year old. It is really quite sad, yet they still continue to damage themselves. Eventually, people in this condition become unemployable at a relatively early age because they simply cannot think straight and so if they don't have a really low-skilled job that even a chimpanzee could accomplish, they are pretty much useless as employees.
As bad as alcohol abuse is in the states, I hear it is far worse in Great Britain where pretty much the entire younger generation gets trashed every weekend and many times comes into work on Mondays tired and exhausted from the lack of quality sleep the body gets while inebriated and hungover.
It is just really hard to imagine an entire country actually being economically productive and not regressing to third world status when such a large percentage of its people are incapable of thinking straight due to consistent substance abuse.- CaptainNoPants, on 11/09/2007, -17/+196people do understand, they just don't care. - kp606, on 11/07/2007, -4/+12Apathy is the cancer that will eventually kill this world and its people.
- mrjit, on 11/07/2007, -3/+4This thing called death that we all succumb to at one point or another is how the people of the world will eventually be killed. Crazy, I know. We all die, big deal if you lose a year or two or 5, to have a blast and *live* your life.
- kp606, on 11/07/2007, -0/+2Inducing euphoric states with alcohol isn't what I call living your life, it's kind of separating yourself from it.

Stop forcing everybody into thinking that drinking will make you cool, because it won't. You'll just end up in a ***** ditch covered in your own barf smelling like someone else's ass with 3 week old dingleberries in it.
/rant- wellyuk, on 11/07/2007, -27/+4Buried! People getting other people started on drugs and alcohol is very 1980s. Or very American. One of the two.
- Arcesius, on 11/07/2007, -3/+8I wish drinking/drugging wasn't so "cool"... kids should be able to see a sober alternative without thinking themselves uncool...
- androo, on 11/07/2007, -0/+8as a "young kid," it seems that most people dont drink to be cool. most people do it to release stress and to have some fun. no, puking all over yourself is not fun, but you can get drunk without being completely incapable of anything. Drinking is particularly fun for high school students because its relatively new to us and it hasnt lost its novelty. I do think that for some its a problem, but some of us know moderation and dont have problems with it.
- aDJsavedmylife, on 11/07/2007, -2/+25Yeah becuase Social drinking isn't a possibility. One beer and you HAVE to get that drunk. I think you might have an alcohol problem.

- wvdavis, on 11/07/2007, -2/+40I'll drink to that!
- munkyxtc, on 11/07/2007, -0/+41I agree. I see no problem with social drinking or having a glass of wine with dinner etc; but there are a scary number of young people who drink themselves senseless all the time. What fun is that?
- gathly, on 11/07/2007, -4/+33"What fun is that?" It's a lot of fun. How else are you going to wake up in a park in a city that isn't the city you were in last night? How else do ugly people get to have sex? How else would the fun of accidental and embarassing tattoos happen? I don't think you've really considered all the fun options. I especially like to wake up from an evening of two many fifths of rum and find that I'm driving. World, Look out.

"Red, red wine
Go to my head
Make me forget that i
Still need her so
Red, red wine
Its up to you
All I can do, Ive done
But memories wont go
No, memories wont go
Id have sworn
That with time
Thoughts of you
Would leave my head
I was wrong
And I find
Just one thing
Makes me forget"- mywhitenoise, on 11/07/2007, -0/+4the nostalgia is overwhelming.
- samzklub, on 11/08/2007, -0/+4UB40? ***** seriously?
- Shawn4168, on 11/07/2007, -1/+31I agree, unfortunately, most people don't have a very good idea of what "moderation" means. To some, it does mean a glass of wine with dinner. To others, it means drink until you're just below the DUI limit. And for others, it means quit drinking after you puke the first time.
- heinousjay, on 11/07/2007, -2/+22But why stop when you've made room?
- ggacid, on 11/07/2007, -2/+17Puking is like hitting the reset button.. Why quit then? You get to start all over!

- alex1432, on 11/07/2007, -16/+50Well then there is only one solution: Smoke weed.
- heinousjay, on 11/07/2007, -11/+6I agree. It's a good warm up to a dozen rum & cokes. Good finisher too.
- jaej, on 11/07/2007, -4/+10on that note: how is weed illegal and alcohol not? alcohol is SO MUCH MORE dangerous than marijuana
- Commodore84, on 11/07/2007, -3/+8What a truly novel concept! Did you think of that one all on your own?
- ShadowPt2, on 11/07/2007, -1/+4So what if it's not an original concept? The very fact that marijuana's illegal and alcohol isn't begs to be questioned and prodded at until we, as a nation, take a serious look at the issue. We're making strides, but we still have a while to go. The general public associates it with illegalities and tend to categorize it as such, failing to recognize all the positive properties regarding it.. it's this notion we need to clear, and in another generation or so, it'll be done.
That, and the restoration of hemp as a viable manufacturing material will solve a lot of our problems.
- petewiz, on 11/06/2007, -1/+1Damn you beat me to it.
- PunkWalrus, on 11/06/2007, -19/+12You make a lot of bold claims, can you cite some sources? Just how does an 80 year old man think? Your argument might be more credible if you had some links to some reliable studies, and not just throw out some really alarmist statements.

- RuckusNutz, on 11/07/2007, -19/+15Well, it just so happens that I know quite a few of people in the middle to latter age range that have spent a lot of their youth in a drunken stupor. I also would put some of these people and their intelligence up against people who have not drank at all, and bet the farm with them. My suspicion is that IOvIO is a nerdy prude (not unlike other dig users) that has never really had a knock down drag out knee walking drunk, and witnessed how fun it can be. He probably should give it a try, it might just get his lame ass laid.

- DreKor, on 11/07/2007, -2/+5"Substance abuse" is something made up by an intolerant society. Abuse implies a choice. If you chose to get hammered/stoned/high on a regular basis and other parts of your life suffer for it, that's all on you. If you have an addiction, where it's no longer a choice, that's something else.
- titopuente, on 11/07/2007, -1/+2But addiction usually stems from making the choice to consume on many occasions, so isn't the addiction on that person?

- turboblake, on 11/07/2007, -9/+7"I wish more people understood the long-term damage done to your health by alcohol and drug abuse." I think most people know them, I was taught in grade school. Its just that getting drunk with friends and going out to bars and partys is was more fun and way cooler than staying home and playing W.O.W. I guarantee you that I had way more fun than you this past weekend. Besides I was a dumb ass before I ever started drinking.
- MicrosoftBob, on 11/07/2007, -1/+2Obviously you've never played WoW while completely pissed.

- IpecacNeat, on 11/07/2007, -3/+6I understand where you are coming from. But I also see the other side. If I keep myself "pure", don't drink, don't smoke, don't go out, I could live a while and work for a very long time. Eventually getting quite wealthy. On the other hand, I could go out, drink, party, smoke and have a great time. I kinda just think to myself, I don't want to become a vegetable, so I don't do it in ridiculous amounts, but on the weekends, I really like getting drunk and partying. There is a reason why college is the best time of your life. Drinking is very fun, I don't NEED it to have a good time, but it "enhances" things I guess. Suppresses the decision making parts of my brain. Makes me more talkative. I have had nights to remember sober, but those "crazy" stories you remember with your friends forever will most likely come from a crazy house party, or that time at the bar. Cliche as it is, I'm going to listen to my music loud, drink, party and live life to the fullest. I graduate in a few years, and I won't be able to do this anymore.
- Damhna, on 11/06/2007, -4/+2Now go replace the word "drinking" in your post with "taking cocaine".

- Pritchard, on 11/07/2007, -3/+2It's evolution, my friend! Yes, all the people will drink heavily and those who can not take it will die. Those who can have the traits of an evolved human being, and a way to clear Alcohol out of the system and keep living strong. What's with all the lamers trying to say people who drink in moderation or don't drink stay at home and play WOW all day instead? There's a life of people having fun out there who aren't trashed on booze, people.

Some would argue that men do the same thing and it's acceptable... I think any binge drinking is stupid, you go from buzzed and fun to drunk and stupid. Then the consequences long and short term kick in and bite the individual in the backside.
Drink in moderation people, and pictures like this won't show on the Internet. - wbeck, on 11/07/2007, -5/+3...you do realize that "ladylike" girls are the ones who won't do you, right? Accept away, I say.

- RobotBuddha, on 11/06/2007, -0/+190% don't do a very good job of it. - TheFinaleofSeem, on 11/06/2007, -1/+8Nah, they're all idiots.
- ell0bo, on 11/09/2007, -8/+30Alright... I'll take a stab at this one. How often have you heard that girls are supposed to be more mature then guys? How often have you actually heard a girl say that to a guy as a reason that they should respect them. It's in our cultures history, and actually most cultures really, to expect females to hold the moral compass. They, no matter how much I wish I could say they don't, have the ultimate power in society... they can easily get any male's attention and give birth to the next generation. Society can expect men to act like animals, because often that's what we're breed to be... fighting, going out, aggressive, and trail blazers. When guys are together they're going to do stupid ***** (even when sober), but it's expect of the women to be standing there telling them they are idiots and trying to straiten them up, instead of joining them in their stupidity. It's much less the males saying that it's ok for women to act that way then it is that women are embracing what the guys have been doing all this time. Believe me, if women stopped sleeping with guys that got retarded drunk and acted a fool, you'd have a lot more civility at parties.
Do I think this is right, heck no... but that's the society we live in, and it's a product of numerous generations. Women could be the most powerful creatures on earth if they only simply respected themselves and as a social group expected more from men, but they don't. Men's only true power is generally at the end of a sword, or pen now adays, but women can hold so much more. Is it really horrible that society wants to hold them up to higher standards then men? Is it really a bad thing that we may actually want them to clean up the guys they're partying right along with?
I am not sinless... I'm a former frat boy from PSU, but let me tell you one thing I have learned over the years. As much fun as it may be to party, those girls in the end you want nothing to do with. The most attractive female you can find now adays is someone whom is unwilling to bend to the pressures of society, and do her own thing. To find a woman with morals, class, intelligence, and beauty now in this generation seems to be almost impossible. And those guys they're partying with... well... some of use meet a girl that cleans us up, and others just remain the cretins they are.- Wartz, on 11/07/2007, -4/+1bravo!
- RobotBuddha, on 11/07/2007, -0/+3"Women could be the most powerful creatures on earth if they only simply respected themselves and as a social group expected more from men"
The most significant thing I've learned from the neurological differences between men and women is that both are lessened when the other is removed from the decision making process. Neither sex alone is anywhere near as powerful as both would be together. Well, at least on average. There are some situations where the average problem solving style of one will always win out over the other. But there's far, far more where they wind up complementing each other and allowing for contingencies the other would have only seen with a lot more work, if at all. - tipexy, on 11/07/2007, -2/+2so not only are we payed less, we have to be the moral beacon, screw that.

- AriaStar, on 11/09/2007, -14/+117The truth of it is that we girls often hear that the way to be liked by guys is to be willing to be party girls, and to be anything else, to enjoy the occasional weekend at home, marks us as lame and boring. Whether or not that is correct is another story.
The girls who post these pictures and brag are trying to show themselves to be fun. As for myself, while I'm willing to admit my favorite shot is straight 151, it's embarrassing to admit to getting do wasted a few weeks ago I had to call an ex, the only person I could reach, to drive me home, then had to stop three times along the way so I could throw up. A badge of honor to some, a horrifying memory for me. Why do it? To make myself seem fun and laid back. As these girls are doing.
True, it's fun to do at the time, but I doubt many of these girls felt very good about themselves the next day. It's better to blame the alcohol than to be the lame-ass who didn't match her friends shot-for-shot. It's a dangerous form of play. Far more so to their bodies than their careers.- ninedesign, on 11/07/2007, -23/+7"The truth of it is that we girls often hear that the way to be liked by guys is to be willing to be party girls, and to be anything else, to enjoy the occasional weekend at home, marks us as lame and boring."
That is by far the most ridiculous comment i've read so far on this page. Do you really, truly and honestly believe that those girls got in that state "to be liked by guys"? That is absurd and I can tell you for a 99.9% fact that the girls I know would disagree completely with you. Maybe getting drunk is something you personally do to impress guys but I can assure you, where i'm from it's completely different.- OMGIAMTHEMAN, on 11/07/2007, -1/+16actually I think he's mostly right. Maybe 99.9% of girls that you know would never admit their deepest insecurities to you (that they might not be liked by guys) just like you wouldn't go around telling girls that you're afraid of being completely outcast by women and therefore, you spend countless hours in the gym, educating yourself, making money, being "cool" and learning how to party in a way that will make girls like you.... since when do you think humans do anything except to mate? it's a powerful evolutionary instinct...

- derforseti, on 11/13/2007, -0/+43It all depends on the crowd you want to fit in with. But as for getting really drunk and partying, I think the thing about that is that guys are more interested in girls who take their clothes of without much argument. Of course, they don't really respect those girls. You'll gain a lot more respect if you can be fun *and* make your own decisions.
- ell0bo, on 11/07/2007, -0/+10I agree. Rather the girl be fun sober then fun and falling all over. That's why my last relationship ended. Take your pick of the kinds of guys you're trying to meet, because if they only want you because you're drunk, getting frisky and being "fun", why the hell do you want to be with them?
- DonCarcharo, on 11/07/2007, -0/+6In my experience, many young women are biologically attracted to guys that drink, party and generally just use them for sex. I've met many wonderful girls who were really nothing more than entertainment for guys for the better part of a decade. The thing is, as those same women get older they settle down and look for stability because they want someone to help raise a family and provide an income.
So a level-headed, responsible man's true worth doesn't come until he's older. The rub is that by then many of those women have already had kids with the party guys and now you're raising their offspring. :P

- lvp1138, on 11/13/2007, -2/+34AriaStar, we don't want women to be like that... the kind of guy that wants women to be like that is just the wrong kind of guy. There is a whole other world of men that see women, and men, with this behavior as losers. These girls into the party scene don't know they exist because, well, we don't hang out in the party scene. :) You can find us in the mountains hiking, at a baseball game, or at any of the town's local activities.
I live in Las Vegas, where drinking is just as common, and 9 out of 10 women I've met or dated think getting drunk is fun. It's actually quite a turn off. - geddon, on 11/07/2007, -3/+5How much responsibility is a woman willing to accept when she gets trashed along with the boys? If she spends all night sucking face and ends up getting gang banged, does the responsibility fall on the men to control themselves -- or are we back to the same "she was asking for it" argument which immediately makes the woman out to be a victim?

- DeadElephant, on 11/06/2007, -0/+10As a male I don't find girls like that attractive at all. I like the women who show self-reliance and the ability to do something with themselves. Bright thinkers do better in the long-run. Seeing trashed girls and stupid girls doing something like this says "they'd cheat on me" "they'd be stupid and get pregnant" and "they are not so bright"
I don't want a stupid girl with no control... that isn't laid back, that's... well.. a stupid girl with no control. - FreeBadAdvice, on 11/07/2007, -2/+5Where exactly do you hear that? Magazines? TV? If you want to be liked by BOYS, then, yes, you have to be willing to be a party girl. Men wouldn't put up with it for too long. I pity anyone who can't keep it together after a few drinks or stand on their own two feet come closing time. It's not shameful to get that drunk in public, but it does show a lack of class.
- round427, on 11/09/2007, -3/+15As a male, I don't find girls attractive at all. It is because I'm gay.

- ashmael, on 11/06/2007, -1/+1The problem here is that girls are doing things to be liked by guys in the first place. Why do you need the opposite sex in order to validate yourself?
- derforseti, on 11/13/2007, -2/+4because we're social animals. Everybody needs validation, whether they be men or women.
- NJScoundrel, on 11/07/2007, -6/+2Perhaps you were just trying to bury the memory of uncle Bob's hot Jack Daniels breath on the back of your neck as a kid.
- clala1220, on 11/06/2007, -0/+4AriaStar, you probably didn't meant to say "we girls" as in the whole female population. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on that. Not all women need alcohol to validate their presence under any circumstance.
With that said, these girls who post their drunken pictures probably don't care who sees them. If they did, why would they post them? Would be a pretty dumb thing to do. - Anub1s, on 11/13/2007, -0/+8I disagree, and here's why.
Men don't like party girls. Men USE party girls. 99% of the men that go to these parties solely to get drunk aren't there to look for someone who is spouse material, they want one night of fun. I don't know about the rest of the guys on here, but I never looked at a woman who was sitting there puking on the floor or was so wasted she couldn't even stand up straight and thought "Hmm...she'd make a great wife." - werkerb33, on 11/06/2007, -0/+1We don't mind the occasional bender, but it's not something I think you should do on a first date/introduction. I echo the guy who said "We like girls who take their clothes off..." but will say that unlike him I can respect someone who does that early on (first date) or who does it on a No Strings Attached basis. Sometimes you just wanna get laid and I think we've moved past the point where girls can't have some fun without the emotional baggage of a relationship - or being called a whore.
But most have a drinking story or two (or four). My girl is great. She's not a lush nor a binge drinker. A glass of wine now and then. But two years ago we were out clubbing in LA and she remembered how much she liked Tequila...it happens to all of us.
Can't wait to tell our future kids that story. - war6986, on 11/07/2007, -2/+1I hope you at least sucked his dick you worthless slag.

- RobotBuddha, on 11/08/2007, -3/+19Note to the old men in corporate America, we young men are hiring up the people you toss away for thought crimes. And not surprisingly, it's proving to be a very good decision. It's a new world, as each passing generation always is, and the old way of drawing the blinds when you get home for fear of what the neighbors might think is dying. And good riddance to the idea that we should waste our short existence trying to warp our personal lives into some perverse doppleganger of any particular companies head.
Good luck weeding out everyone but the spineless worms, but the more you continue to aim in that direction, the more you're losing out on the youth with all their disposable income. Heck, that generation isn't even so young anymore. As time goes by and the old people die off, your demographic base is going to keep getting shorter and shorter until you're a dinosaur with only a few senior citizens left to weep when you're finally gone.- BlackJackJester, on 11/07/2007, -2/+2Its not so much that as...being drunk and coming in with a hangover is not very becoming of a person in the business world.
- Dasmitch, on 11/07/2007, -0/+0So, just because I dont get piss drunk and put stupid pictures online im a spineless worm?
Your logic is flawed and it shows in everything that is happening now. A bunch of appathetic, let someone else handle it crowd that doesnt care about anything but buying crap and being something that they are not because they see it on tv. If I was hiring a bunch of people for a company I owned, I WOULD NOT be hiring the ***** who goes out every saturday and sunday night getting ***** faced since thats a liability that he/she will be tired/hungover/not coming in. It makes sense for "old men" in corporate america to weed that out.

- lumbergh, on 11/06/2007, -5/+4This is exactly why drinking should be left to the adults, who use it in reasonable quantities for social lubrication and sex enhancement, and not teens, who overdose on it due to social anxieties, wanting to impress friends, and wanting to get past the trauma of the first lay. ;)
- DreKor, on 11/06/2007, -1/+3I assume the overtly mature "winky face" was meant to imply that you were being sarcastic. At least, I hope so. I come from a state where getting loaded is a way of life. "Adults" have no moral high ground to stand on in this issue.
- copacetique88, on 11/06/2007, -0/+4I agree completely. Contrary to what these pictures show, drinking can be done responsibly. Even if it is not done completely responsibly, I've seen plenty of girls who get trashed but don't act anything like that. The pictures of these girls are a result of their own stupidity. They get trashed because of the attention it gets them, and in turn the attention makes them act like idiots. Some girls need to learn that there is a difference between getting attention from doing something admirable and getting attention (negatively) from letting your fat rolls hang out while you're passed out in the tub. Floosies.
