Florida Man Offers Garage Door Advertisement On eBay
cgi.ebay.com — Yes, this auction is mine. I'm offering an advertisement on my 2 car garage door for 1 year on eBay. Before any veteran users get pissed off, I've been a fan of Diggnation since 2005, but I just registered for Digg.com today.

- gerardleblond, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Since this is a no reserve auction the highest bidder gets free advertising on the promoter's garage door. If you've got a dot com ecommerce site or blog you want to promote it could be very inexpensive advertising and the free press resulting from the promoter's homeowner's association going bonkers will be off the charts... if the promotion is done right...

- RobbinK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This looks like a neighborhood that would have strict neighborhood association rules. I can't see this lasting longer than it would take for the association to throw a fit and have it removed.
- karolgajda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Aww come on Robbin, don't hate. I thought we were friends. :)
- wetdoggo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think it is brilliant and am watching it with great interest.
This is a great marketing exercise in understanding what it takes for a story to hit "critical mass."
News does not "just happen. People make it happen.
- RobbinK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm not hatin' Karol! I hope you can pull it off. I know my neighbors would throw a fit. Besides, you said some ugly things about Florida! Some of us love it when we walk outside and the heat and humidity take our breath away. :) Good luck getting back to Yankeeville!
