Hillary winning the popular vote had been predicted for the last week or so, and although Obama was getting closer to closing the the gap (and some polls even said he had passed it), most went back to sayin Hillary would win popular within the last couple days. BUT Texas has a really complex system (I'm Dallas, so no offense to fellow Texans), so the places where Hillary won big actually don't earn her as many delegates (it's based on which areas had the highest number of votes in the 2004 election) as the places Obama won (Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio). So although percentage wise, Hillary did win the popular vote, she only actually got about 5 more delegates (I don't think exact numbers are out yet) from the popular vote than Obama. Now like I said Texas is really screwed up, and so you also have to factor in the caucuses. Obama won overall there, which earned him a good 5 or so more delegates than Hillary. So although the headlines all read that Hillary won Texas, it really was just a wash, because they both earned about the same total amount of delegates (and delegates is all that matters at this point).

He defeated his opponent Chris Peden in the Republican primary for congressman of the 14th district of Texas. Seeing as there are no Democrats running against him, he has pretty much just regained his congressional spot.
