- gadalla, on 10/12/2007, -10/+28We can kill all the Iraqis we want, but embryonic stem cell research is unethical...such a wonderful country
/sarcasm - geoboy, on 10/12/2007, -10/+26If I'm not mistaken, it's Iraqis who are killing Iraqis (for the most part). The U.S. is just trying to babysit the situation. Or put differently, we're trying to fix what we broke.
- MaXiMuM32, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16I think it's refreshing to see real Iraqis for a change instead of hearing about idiots killing each other for no apparent reason. It might put things in to perspective for people who are brainwashed by the constant dehumanization of the Iraqi people (or Arabs in general) in the media.
- Saiing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I agree. I've only watched 2 so far, but I'm intending to watch them all. What is sad, is that this is a real chance for us to see what is really going on in Iraq and yet many of the videos have less that 25,000 views. Sounds good until you realize that "Otters holding hands" gets 3 million. It's a pathetic indication of how screwed up our values are these days.
- trnscndr, on 10/12/2007, -17/+28Proving again that our President has no clue that Iraqis are human too!
- LowRentDiggs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9You won't see this in the liberal media.
Sorry, felt like imitating my father (who still defends Richard Nixon) - abid786, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8RTF"A"
This is Iraq - jadebot, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10I'd like to see more of this
- PsychoticClown, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9"Proving again that our President has no clue that Iraqis are human too!"
Are you kidding? This rat bastard doesn't think AMERICANS are human (soldiers are his chess pawn to further personal and trivial agendas), you think he'd see Iraqis as human?
I say we offer the current administration + CIA douchebags to Al-Qaedah and we all call it even and we have peace on land. The birds will sing and the homeless will dance. - nygex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It's funny that a lot of Americans think that way because that is the way our government and media has portrayed it. I was there for over two years and even met my wife there. You can tell it was once a beautiful place. I've taken interest in these videos because my wife's brother is one of the camera men. I wish these videos would hit mainstream US more so that people can see that the people there are no different than us.
Iraq has a population of 25 million. It takes less than 1% of that population to join an insurgency and create the chaos that is there now. What about the other 99%? - allaboutdatiki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4In other news: You can get a dental degree by 23 in Iraq. Don't mind the bombings, just pass that nitrous mask.

Maybe you forgot (or are simply unaware) of Nixon's invasion and terror campaign against Cambodia, with atrocities comparable to those committed by the Khmer Rouge? There were some 600,000 civilian deaths, by CIA estimation, which is probably a conservative number.
Of course there's also the role Nixon played in Vietnam, which shouldn't be understated. Nixon was in power during some of the more brutal American adventures around the globe. Watergate? Who cares? - CVirus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Ok. This is lame
- fatlip, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4link to otters holding hands video plz tnx.
- SebG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I truly feel bad for them. Because of the situation in your country, you cannot fully enjoy your life with a person that you love the most. Everyday you go somewhere during the day, there is a small chance that you might be killed by some suicide bomber. This is very sad. At least i am happy for them that they found themselves and they found love amongst all the bad things that are happening over there. I wish all the luck to them.
- SilentSpyder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2A lot of the main cities in third world countries are better than we think. They're not New York but they're not the slums that we presume them to be.
- maiku00, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5neither can christians, but you do you think that stops most of them?
- Badtastic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Insurgents love too.
- greenjohnsmith, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3lol. That is the funniest thing I have read all day.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Man! If only Arabs would stop being such closed-minded bastards and learn that this is 2007!!! The age of long robes, long beards, long faces IS GONE!!!
Look at these people, they live in the modern age, she dresses like a girl and he is in love like any of us chumps in the modern world, makes you think how well we could all get along if we could see past our noses and forget our differences and simply accept who we are.
I really liked the video, dugg. - TKmac02, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is it just me, or did Iraq look pretty good for a war torn country, I always thought that the Iraqis lived in a third world country, but Saif has access to a car, a house that looks fairly clean and the money to go out to a restaurant for dinner. Not that it is as nice as the US or another western country, but it didn't look all that bad.
- Ratteler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Umm, it is the not the American's the shoot, it's the iraqi's."
My point exactly. He's not in fear for his life and love because of American's. It's his own people who are the bad guys. - superspud, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3nah
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7congrats everyone...you gave a spammer his front page story.
Take a look:

I provided that so you could learn something instead of spouting nonsense.
I wasted my time.
Your implication seems to be that the article is factually false. If so, please tell me what about it is wrong.
Being open-minded is a good thing. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+9He has a link to a Wikipedia article, he must know what he's talking about!
- Ratteler, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Let's pull out and have this guy document his run for the border after his fiance is stoned to death by Islamic fundamentalists for showing her face in public.
Think about it, no American is going to be sniping them cause he's driving in his car alone with his girl. That's what they are over there to make possible.
So who is he worried about? - babykitten24, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm from Iraq living in Canada, and I have visited Iraq 2 years ago. It is pretty much what he explained. If you go out past 6pm, you are risking your life. But then again, you are risking your life everywhere, including in your own home.
I have heard so many sad stories, for example, a gang of Iraqi's came to my aunt's friend's house looking for her husband. she refused to tell them where he was, so they basically took her son and told her she either told them where her husband was or they would kill her son. Finally she told them and they left, so she called her husband and told him to run away.
The same situation almost happened to my aunt, but she spread a rumor that they were divorced, and that is why they didn't press the issue on her. they did come over to her house looking for him.
It is right that Iraqi's and killing each other because of family arguments but mostly for money. But you cannot generalize that all Iraqi's are like that. most of the good Iraqi people escaped from the hell they were living in. - nygex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually, education in Iraq is free - even dental school. My wife is a civil engineer and all she had to do was take a test (her grades had to be good as well) to qualify her for the education. If she had tested higher, she could have gone to one of the medical schools. Lower grades would qualify one for a lesser education. Iraqis have never paid taxes or paid for higher education.
- andrew1193, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Chomsky is a liar, and denied that the Cambodian democide ever occured. Nothing he says can be believed: http://jim.com/chomsdis.htm
- greenjohnsmith, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Not! Right? You forgot that at the end. Muslims cannot have sex till they are married. Oh wait, she isn't wearing her hajab, maybe she isn't Muslim.
- asdfasdf, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3therealduckie: It's not spam. He's posting links to his own site(s)/content. He submitted each piece of content only once. What's the problem?
- seanieb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Don't fear, thats what creates situations like Iraq.
Instead try to understand and if possible try to change things. - andrew1193, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4"Maybe you forgot (or are simply unaware) of Nixon's invasion and terror campaign against Cambodia, with atrocities comparable to those committed by the Khmer Rouge? *****.
Estimates of indiscriminate American bombing range from 1/20th to 1/10th the number you cite. - ronsta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i don't care if it was submitted by a spammer. it's a great episode, and from what i can tell, a great series. i'd love to find all of them in high res and watch through from beginning to the end.
/dugg! - Allymarie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0my heart breaks for them
- j.carcinogen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2They kill each other. Let's talk ethics.

- m00dy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1life is ***** hereee
- nygex, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I can confirm it is real, for whatever that is worth. One of the cameramen is my brother-in-law.
- babykitten24, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Umm, it is the not the American's the shoot, it's the iraqi's. You must know the situation. Plus, it's rare that you find american's prowling the streets. they are too scared.
- foamweapons, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1A dentist who has enough money to go to college is definitely upper-middle class. Another sign is that most of his friends have left the country. According to the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees around 2 million Iraqis -- about 8 percent of the prewar population -- have left the country, mostly to Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. So he's probably in a better situation than most? (Since his friends are some of that 8 percent) ... I hate to speculate, but with the info I have, that's what I'm going to assume.
It's a great story to hear. I've always thought... what we really need is tons of Iraqis with cameras getting videos on Youtube, posting about their lives. It's not Iraqi hearts and minds we have to change... it's the average American heart and mind. Things are only going to get worse if soldiers and average Americans keep thinking we are superior to them, that Iraqis are in a third-world, backwards society, and they don't know what's good for their own country. -
