- greymaxcat, on 10/12/2007, -16/+95I use to feel that way...
Now I have 2 daughters...
now Sex is bad and shameful. - AgentMull, on 10/12/2007, -0/+66What, no pictures of the offending text?
- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -3/+49He's Fing her in her A!
now we're learning! - appleswitch, on 10/12/2007, -4/+47Most likely one of these: http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=718
- Artifez, on 10/12/2007, -11/+52I find it funny that anything involving children makes people retarded. This person is going to be (figuratively) burned at the stake for POTENTIALLY exposing children to "lewd" stick figures. The sex taboo in the west is so rediculous that it is funny in a way.
Sex isn't bad or shameful, if your children have no clue what sex is they are much more likely to make bad decisions dealing with it. Grow up, parents. - 500freestyle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+43I knew this would come in handy some day.

edit: Its a little messed up. You get the gist of it. - NicP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32Its probably this font: http://www.eknp.com/php/fd.php?f=groupsex (it should be obvious but not really safe for work)
- benjaminzsj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Sex is all about sticks and figures.
- JamesWilson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24Probably the GroupSex font:
http://www.eknp.com/php/fd.php?f=groupsex - netdroid9, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Potentially more importantly: Why do school computers have a font like that?
- mhaisley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17It was infact the group sex font, the local article had a picture of the handout.
http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060918/NEWS/609180346/-1/NEWS14 - martalli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16or at least the name of the font?
- Prophet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16The offending font was on a hand out to *parents*, not the students. http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060918/NEWS/609180346/-1/NEWS14
Inappropriate maybe, but this is blowing things out of proportion. - Vanden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14You have so much to learn of stick figures.
- neoform, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I think the word that teacher is looking for is.. "Woopsiedoodle".
- zeno60, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Maybe the kids will start doing homework...
- alphaone, on 10/12/2007, -13/+22Artifez is right, education is the best tool against doing stupid things. Putting your head in the sand and trying to keep sex away from kids in a hyper-sexual society is impossible. Instead, parents need to be parents and teach their kids about wise sexual decisions - like using a condom to reduce teen pregnancy and the spread of STDs.
Letters made up of stick figures is a cute concept for kids and possibly made it more fun for them to read. Teachers need support, not backlash. We don't pay them enough to deal with that. - othersomethings, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11none of those are stick figures actually forming letters, though.
- cyroxos, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11I dont understand how the teacher could mistake a font as abstract as that with somthing like Times New Roman, or Arial...
- kingfoot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9honestly, how can a stick figure be that provocative...let alone, how can the teacher mistakenly put it on there and print it/hand it out w/o ever having a second look at it!?!?
- LordOfTheSponge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/152/bildegt1.jpg
Here it is guys. - kitsune111, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I can see how some old teacher thought it was just some cute font. some people see something like stick figures and thats as far as there simple mind will take it. plus the teacher was most likely busy so didn't really give that much thought. It is rather PG-13 so I can see how it was overlooked. Still funny!
- brundlefly76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Original story with handout graphic:
http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060919/NEWS/609190319
Story is MUCH funnier when looking at the handout. - cbdgr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7i bet they all got A's on there spelling packets
- Midniteslayr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5If it was that font, I could assume that the teacher was too senile to know that it was a bunch of caricatures of sex positions.
- honeycut, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7ah crap. bury this.
- VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10"This is the 3rd grade, way too early to be teaching kids about sex. When I was in elementary school they taught us a little bit in 5th grade and then more in 6th. But 3rd? That's just disgusting."
Why? - positron, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Well, It says stick figures. I find it hard to imagine stick figures being "posed provocatively" at all.
- Xanin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Pretty much a waste of an article, the synopsis posted on digg covered it...
- wilsonder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I can easily see how the font might be overlooked. If you don't like close enough, it just looks like normal stick figures making letters with their body. However, I think its a bit hard to over look the name... any font named group-sex is probably not appropriate for a grade 3 classroom... just throwing that out there.
- mikwit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It was the group sex font, I saw the picture of it on MSNBC... odd through, I wonder what will happen to her, I mean, the damage is already done if there was any, and drawing more attention to it will do just that, damaging the kids even more further
- wheremyarm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Screenshots or it didn't happen.
- oOLiquidNightOo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6by the sounds of it, the font may have been in the "New Roman" font family.
- alanmarchman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Well, kingfoot, if the stick figure has a massive stick schlong; then it's bound to offend somebody...
That font inspired me to learn how to read. - Outdoor83, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9I'll take the troll bait, for better or worse.
@greymaxcat:
If it were so bad and shameful, how did you come about having the two daughters? It seems you love your daughters, so how did two people you love so much come from something so bad and shameful? How do you convince them that they came from something bad and shameful?
Sex is fun. As much as you don't want to hear it, your daughters someday will probably think sex is fun, too. When they make that decision (or, at least decide to find out if it is or not), would you rather they had good information about it? I learned about sex before kindergarten and I'm now a happily married 23-year-old. Only had one partner. Didn't mess it up when I had the chance. I attribute some of this to my parents who got over the squeamishness of it all and convinced me that it was normal before I was old enough to think it was weird to talk about it. - jordan.basham, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@ oOLiquidNightOo
"New Roman" funny, i got it.
See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_sex - VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's actually kind of abstract, I wouldn't quite call it x-rated.
- gummih, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The school district name is Monroe-Woodbury?? Are you kidding? Wood-bury?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4on warez sites there used to be a popular font with realistic poses made by a French.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Maybe the teacher was a hottie and it was her way of letting single dads know she was available. Mmmmmm teachers.....
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.eknp.com/php/fd.php?f=groupsex
i think whoever posted this link above proved you wrong, i agree, this was probably the font - darkstar949, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5@Outdoor83 - Please tell me that you knew that was a joke.
- sigintop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't know about you guys but I'm dying to try "Z" out! :D
- pixor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Sex is bad, but it's OK to let kids gorge themselves on violence in films etc. US censorship is messed up. I guess it's the fault of those Puritans? I'm off to live in Holland.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4When you make the letter H, some if you will need 2 people the form the middle section. I just need a sexy "I" and I'm all gooooddd....
- halleyscomet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I heard about this on the Distorted View podcast a few days ago.
Check it out, the host's commentary is a riot. - Julian88888888, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1read the article.
- MavicA, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2So you say a teacher (or anyone for this matter) would pick a font from a list called 'GroupSex' and having no other thoughts about it than just 'ohhh, nice stick figures!'
...'not use the font intentionally'... yeah, right.
And come on, is there really such a thing as an X-rated FONT? The USA are far more weirder than I thought... - aussia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"That at least looks slightly innocent, I think that makes the most sense, but why did the teacher have it on their computer in the first place?"
her husband/boyfriend/partner? - skoles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There's another font out there called "42 ways" that looks similar.
