Would you trust this company with your packages?
thatsnotnews.com — I thought it would be interesting to find photos of crashes involving Fedex vehicles. To my surprise there were plenty out there. After seeing photo after photo I soon realised this was more of a problem than I originally expected...

- MikeonTV, on 12/04/2007, -1/+30Well I only ship sponges and yoga pants, so yes.
- davidsmero, on 12/04/2007, -0/+12No I do not trust them. I was on board a FedEX plane last Christmas Eve when it went down in the Pacific. Took me 5 years to get home and to find out my wife was with another man. So no, I do not trust them.
- madskjaer, on 12/04/2007, -6/+3So... LAST christmas you were on board a FedEX plane, and now FIVE YEARS LATER you got home... This doesn't really make sense, but interesting story. Wanna hear more.
- davidsmero, on 12/04/2007, -1/+2Kind of messed that up, was on the phone while i typed that.
- RealmDown, on 12/04/2007, -2/+1It's not the years; it's the mileage.

- diggface5000, on 12/04/2007, -8/+7Hey, i think i saw my missing package in that first photo!
- _skin_, on 12/04/2007, -2/+30Ha Ha, your package is so small you thought it was missing! LOL
- MonsterChaOS, on 12/04/2007, -4/+1wow, major burn
- OwdenBowden, on 12/04/2007, -4/+1WOW, good to be in Middle School.

- tssfan1, on 12/04/2007, -6/+17May i put my wife on this plane?
- georgetds, on 12/04/2007, -1/+2Dunno, shipping big boxes can be expensive. Are you sure you want to pay the cost?
- Nudar, on 12/04/2007, -6/+3Brought to you by mooji, the CEO of UPS who disguises his identity on Digg. Reminds me of the Whole Foods CEO who continually bashed Wild Oats online before they figured out it was him. Wild Oats stock price dropped enough that Whole Foods bought it out earlier this year.
- totorototoro, on 12/04/2007, -0/+3you have to admit he knows how to hire drivers:
http://content.humpingfrog.com/pictures/sub_8361.j ... - Nudar, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1I'll give him that.

- ravan46, on 12/04/2007, -2/+42With hundreds of thousands of movements every day by FedEx vehicles, finding 10 accidents really doesn't seem that bad...
- Hoov, on 12/04/2007, -0/+6Not to mention there's no dates on these crashes, and you don't really know it's the driver's/pilot's fault.
- ChromaVita, on 12/04/2007, -3/+26Great now we have UPS fanboys?
- Hoov, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1You mean you don't remember the "AMAZING INCREDIBLE GENIUS FEDEX SLAMS UPS IN THE BROWNHOLE ADVERT" on the tractor trailer a month or two back?
- Synapse84, on 12/04/2007, -0/+4
- ChromaVita, on 12/04/2007, -0/+4Synapse 84 decided to ship his comment via FedEx apparently.
- Synapse84, on 12/04/2007, -0/+4
- Crosshare, on 12/04/2007, -0/+3DHL on the real, yo!

- MonsterChaOS, on 12/04/2007, -2/+33Yeah, I had a FedEx plane crash while bringing me an international package. Poor Natasha, she just wanted to marry me and live in America.
- aspec, on 12/04/2007, -3/+6She was going to divorce you any way. That's what you get for ordering a bride from the back of Star Trek the Magazine.
- almostspastic, on 12/04/2007, -0/+6UPS put you up to this, didn't they?
- Spanq, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1One company isn't any better or worse than the other. FedEx gets my packages to me faster, but they look like Kevin James tried to ***** the box. UPS seems to get my packages to me in better shape, but can hardly get them to me on time. It all depends on the assholes handling your *****.
- rydel, on 12/04/2007, -0/+6Not as good as DHL:
http://img398.imageshack.us/img398/8558/mvc007s3no ... - wsxian, on 12/04/2007, -5/+1This last year a FedEx ground truck ran over our dog. After being warned not to come to our place without prior calling so we could keep our dogs in the yard. It's poor drivers than cause this. Poor training or poor selection of drivers.
Yes, they will be sued.- georgetds, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1They parked on the lawn, or your dogs run completely free? Just curious, is all.
- Kenzan, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2Or, you could just keep your dogs behind a fence like normal people there, bubba.
- Matt2k, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Keep your dogs out from underneath cars. DO you sue everyone that drives down your driveway. Maybe put up a sign or a gate or something? Just saying.
- rohcky, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1The drivers of ALL delivery services leave the facilities early in the morning. They have a route to drive and don't know exactly when they'll get to your place.
I think your dog should sue you for letting him run loose without any supervision. Please don't have any kids.
- Frecklefoot, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Well, when it ABSOLUTELY HAS to get there overnight, what do you expect?
- RealmDown, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Vultures looking for youtube fodder, mostly.
- RealmDown, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Vultures looking for youtube fodder, mostly.
- kirtap, on 12/04/2007, -0/+3the comments on that site are hilarious
- Asianwaste, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Meh, it happens.
- blackmage439, on 12/04/2007, -1/+1Although my experiences with DHL haven't been entirely positive, I still rate UPS and FedEx as equals, since neither of them have caused me any trouble. However, I did hear awhile ago that UPS is, interestingly, the only large US aircarrier without a major accident. Judging by these photos, that's obviously more than you can say for FedEx...
- fcrow, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Buried for being unfair.
- demusdesign, on 12/04/2007, -0/+5Buried. He says he just searched the internet for images, then posts them on his site, without citing sources, and then puts his cool little logo on the bottom of each. Welcome to ebaum's world.
- Nauthez, on 12/04/2007, -3/+3hell, i work at UPS, and the internal company nickname is "United Package Smashers"
if you get a package, and it drops off the belt, instead of picking it up, you just kick it to a corner- fcrow, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1why?
- darkane, on 12/04/2007, -0/+3Sorry, but FedEx could crash a quarter million vehicles and still be ten times as reliable as UPS.
- LowFuel, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2Every package I've ever had shipped by them has arrived as promised. So, yes, I would (and do) trust them.
What a non-story.... - RonPaulSucks21, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1That's not news indeed. Buried.
- Chirp08, on 12/04/2007, -1/+2Handling my package? Giggity!
- supafuzz, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Here's the best one http://www.zefrank.com/theshow/gallery/v/worst_eve ...
- fcrow, on 12/04/2007, -1/+1why?
- tetro, on 12/04/2007, -1/+0The FedEx truck driver near my home goes 90MPH in the fast lane and cuts people off. I'm surprised he hasn't hit anyone yet.
- supafuzz, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1I doubt their trucks can go that fast.
- tetro, on 12/04/2007, -0/+0My mistake, it's going downhill
- supafuzz, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1I doubt their trucks can go that fast.
- bastardo, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1I worked for a company that sent a full midsize truck of product via Fedex, and it crashed and all the product was lost. Even tho it was insured (we paid extra), Fedex said they didn't cover all the product. They basically lost everything and didn't pay for crap.
Never used them again... - bightchee, on 12/04/2007, -1/+1That must be where my shirt from Woot is.
/Fedex tracking says it went from TX to WV to CA to NJ to WI... it needs to be in NY. - garethkeenan, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Both the FedEx and UPS drivers on my company's route tell us to pack everything assuming it's going to fall 5 feet onto concrete. Seriously, though, with the amount of packages that are shipped each day, this is statistically bound to happen.
- mrtrick, on 12/04/2007, -0/+4When your entire business revolves around transportation you're bound to have several transportation related incidents. It's not different than saying "hey look at all the the articles I found about people that work in sawmills cutting their fingers off". This correlation can be made to any industry that performs some type of risky (yes flying and driving are risky) behavior.
- Kenzan, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1This reminds me to the time when I worked for Fed ex and I was on a Fed ex plane over the south pacific and the plane crashed and I was the only survivor and I washed ashore on this deserted island and..........
- JimSwarthow, on 12/04/2007, -1/+1whatever their record (I've never had a pkg get lost on any carrier), FedEx (private run) compared to the USPS (govt run) is like comparing apples & frying pans. no comparison whatsoever. - but hey, I'm sure the Govt would do a fantastic job if they were in charge of our health-care. right?
- Visnik, on 12/04/2007, -1/+0it happens to UPS to
http://www.zefrank.com/theshow/gallery/v/worst_eve ... - kenkanif, on 12/04/2007, -0/+3wow...this isnt one sided at all...
buried - slyzxx, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2thats stupid how can you say that they handle packages horrible because of accidents that you took off the net ? Its stupid to say the whole company acts like that and your stupid for blogging it BURRIED.
- miraclebaby, on 12/04/2007, -1/+1According to a friend who used to work for UPS, all UPS managers were required to carry brown spray paint in their vehicles at all times. First job when arriving upon the scene of any crashed vehicle was to paint over the yellow UPS logo with the brown spray paint. Before checking on the driver? Yes. Before putting out a fire? Yes. At a plane crash, the manager on the scene had to be forcibly restrained from painting over the aircraft logos by the NTSB. Once the NTSB released the crashed aircraft back to the company, the first thing they did was paint over the logos.
- Glynth, on 12/05/2007, -0/+1"According to a friend... Before checking on the driver... Before putting out a fire...." Yeah. Forgive me if I don't take your word for it.
- RobertHodgen, on 12/04/2007, -1/+1I think I saw one of the accidents from that article (this accident: http://www.thatsnotnews.com/photos/fedex3.jpg ), I took pictures too ( http://gallery.mac.com/rhodgen#100078/DSC_1932&bgc ... ). I was actually on my way to get my iPhone from the Apple store when I saw it.
- re506, on 12/04/2007, -0/+0Yeah, United Parcel Smashers is a whooooole lot better.
