- TheHayze, on 10/24/2007, -0/+26I love scotch. Scotchy, scotch, scotch. Here it goes down, down into my belly...
- guydudeman, on 10/29/2007, -1/+25Original Forbes article: http://www.forbestraveler.com/food-drink/most-expe ...
- IHaveIssues, on 10/24/2007, -1/+17Wow, that ***** completely lifted the content from the Forbes site. Buried big time!
- slkuhn, on 10/29/2007, -1/+16Sweet jesus I love scotch. I think I better pour a glass now.
- Nougat, on 10/24/2007, -1/+14Scotch is for drinking. These will never be drunk, and so they are not Scotch, but worthless trinkets that people exchange for large sums of money.
- MikeonTV, on 10/29/2007, -4/+15$75,000????? You would have to be 1 Krazy Korean to buy that!
- burstaneurysm, on 10/24/2007, -0/+10Damn, I thought JW Blue was too expensive.
What's the point of having a 75K bottle of booze that nobody will ever drink? - apraxia, on 10/23/2007, -0/+7What about McCutcheon!?!
- fuseideas, on 10/24/2007, -0/+5I thought this originally said the World's Most Expansive Crotch. I thought it was another Britney Spears picture...
- UnicornNinja, on 10/24/2007, -0/+5I'd say its got a burny burn with a strong after burn.
- vs292, on 10/24/2007, -0/+5Whisky. Note the lack of "e". We're talking about Scotch here folks!
- MattB123, on 10/24/2007, -0/+5Good thing I'll probably never know just how good these are. A bottle of 1982 Macallan 18 year is as fancy as I've ever gotten. And it was good, but not something I'd buy very often.
- porkstacker, on 10/24/2007, -0/+4Sure, those are the most expensive, but the best-tasting AFFORDABLE single malt scotch whiskies are as follows:
1. Lagavulin 16 year old (approximately $70/750ml)
2. Ardbeg Uigeadail (around $90/750ml)
3. Balvenie Doublewood (roughly $80/750ml)
Having recently attended my first single malt scotch whiskey tasting seminar, I came to a realisation:
Just because something is out-of-this-world expensive doesn’t mean it’s good. - inactive, on 10/24/2007, -0/+4Unless this ***** gave you an instant orgasm... What's the point of spending that much money?
- warcormc, on 10/23/2007, -1/+5ok the original article is here
http://www.forbestraveler.com/food-drink/most-expe ...
yeah, bury this ***** - cash0utcurse, on 10/23/2007, -0/+4Desmond FTW
- tdhurst, on 10/24/2007, -2/+6Whatever, pansy boy.
Alcohol is like liquid heaven. - tacom8, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3If no one ever buys my $75,000 bottle of cat pee, is it still worth $75,000??
// PM me for details if you want in on this super deal. - inactive, on 10/24/2007, -1/+4"The Scottish village of Fife" is completely inaccurate. Fife is a county of around 300,000 people. Ladybank is the name of the town, I pass it every day on my way to University.
Interestingly, why are the prices in dollars and not UK pounds? If it's Scotch Whiskey, it's traded in pounds since that's the currency we use here. - warcormc, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3Ummm so you can take it with you when you die. Obvkously...
- catullus13, on 10/23/2007, -2/+5Tha penny-pinching, crazed Scots misers strike agin! $75,000 bawbies for a wee bit o' vile, peatty fluid. Hold onto yer kilts, laddies!
- weeeezzll, on 10/24/2007, -0/+3Prepare the palate with a cup of warm Colombian coffee and milk; let the noble spirit drift over the tongue; finish with a bitter-chocolate such as Cote d'Or or Godiva. "The combination of coffee, The Dalmore and the bitter chocolate," says Paterson, "will ensure the experience is unforgettable."
ZOMG SHUT THE ***** UP!!! Scotch is good, but I think the person that wrote that line is seriously kidding themselves.
Drink coffee, drink scotch, eat chocolate, orgasm...
Makes me want to slap someone! - Haohmaru, on 10/24/2007, -0/+3Excluding those specially produced batches, they may not even taste that great at those ages and if they are good, they're probably not much better than a $100 bottle.
- digghasnoethics, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2I'd much rather have a 12 year old Bruichladdich at £30
In fact I already do. - brotherfigure, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2Love the description of the 36 year old Kinclaith, "oily and perfumey, with a dry, long, hot finish." That sounds more like lighter fluid than liquor.
- gropo, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2If I was in a situation like Brewster's Millions I would seriously consider finding out what a $2000 sip of scotch tasted like.
- Gryffydd, on 10/29/2007, -0/+2Mmmmm $75k Scotch + Starcraft!
- cawpin, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2I'll see your 16, which I've never seen, and raise you a sip of 21. I'm assuming you meant 15.
- LoneJeeper, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2maybe i haven't had an expensive-enough bottle of whisky, but these descriptions like "The mouthfeel is succulent soft fudge and exotic yellow fruits with a twist of lime and grapefruit, and is sublimely smooth." make me wonder if i'm somehow drinking it wrong. Lord knows i've had enough practice.
- leha, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2Am I the only one who thinks that this is completely ridiculous when people are willing to pay such money for just a few minutes of questionable pleasure? These rich people are probably bored out of their mind if they buy this crap. To put it into perspective: for a price of one of these bottles you can probably feed some poor fvcker in a 3rd world country for the rest of his life. So you have a choice enjoy your nose receptors for a few minutes or being proud that you saved somebody.
- mikehill33, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2Lagavulin D/N/T
- Hubris, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1Exactly what I thought....Glenlivet (regular) sells in 12 and 18 year, with the oak cask reserves at 15. 21....well, we're now drinking past my station:)
- expo1001, on 10/24/2007, -0/+1You present it to the Alien Overlords when they invade, as a token of your submission.
- cawpin, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1Because the guy that stole the article is American, like me, and doesn't care. Also, I assure you I bought my Glenlivet with dollars.
- cawpin, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1It's also JW, so the point is moot. Get some real Scotch.
- betobeto, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1A 1957 Bowmore sounds like liquid orgasm to my ears. Islay whiskies FTW.
- Haohmaru, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1Yeah, one swallow is more than Desmond makes in a month! If he made $750 a week that's about $76,927
- brad3378, on 10/24/2007, -0/+1before I cleaned my glasses, I swore it said "World's Most Expensive Crotches"
- Haohmaru, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1It is too expensive.
- FischerDK, on 10/24/2007, -0/+1If you like the 12-yr, try the 15-yr release 2 or the 17. Both are most excellent, and reasonably priced.
- SirGunslinger, on 10/23/2007, -1/+2After work and school I'm so drinking a glass of Glenlivet 16.
- cnot3, on 10/29/2007, -1/+2Kim Jong Il is the number one customer of Hennessy Cognac, he spends $750,000 on it per year- more than all the entire hip hop industry combined. Now, he is a Krazy Korean. But hey, at least we know they like their booze, maybe we're not so different after all...
- thebookgarden, on 03/07/2008, -0/+1$75,000 is only about £37,000 and there's a lot more expensive whisky's than that out there! A Macallan went for over £54,000 recently, that's over $100,000, and there's plenty of Bottles of Macallan priced over £5,000. The cheaper Macallan is pretty good too!
http://www.squidoo.com/Malt-Whisky-Buyers-Guide - gak001, on 10/24/2007, -0/+1Well, it's all relative. If I make 60,000 USD a year and I like scotch, I won't mind spending a few hundred on a good bottle. If I make 60 million a year, I'm not going to mind spending a few thousand. I don't think they're really targeting anyone who's annual income is less than the price of the booze.

4538? Come on, we can do better than that. - xeomage, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1Hey now, he also reversed the order! That's got to count for something...
...or not Buried. - JohnboiWaltune, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1What about the liquid ambrosia known as Colt 45? Billy Dee Williams says it's good, and if you don't agree, you are a terrorist.
- Shelbo2000, on 10/23/2007, -0/+0I say why not! If I had the coin this is the type of stuff I'd collect. I like booze!
- Haohmaru, on 10/23/2007, -2/+2That's what I thought about beer, until I had a Sam Adams.
