- GawtMilk, on 10/12/2007, -12/+310It's a huge ***** puddle, good thing the closest guy to the accident helped out. A true hero. Look at the feet man in the blue shirt with the shopping bag. He's the closest person there, yet his feet don't move an inch throughout the debacle.

same story - kibiz0r, on 10/12/2007, -25/+174Because only a woman goes "Hey, a giant hole in the street, I think I'll go right into it."
- toucci, on 10/12/2007, -7/+135If only a man were driving, his excessive speed would have allowed him to hydroplane over the whole thing! [/sarcasm]
- chocobomog, on 10/12/2007, -5/+124Yea, looks like a sinkhole where a water pipe beneath the street washes away the ground supporting the concrete. A parking lot in my city had one of these a few years ago. A guy parked his car, walked into the post office to pick up his mail, and then walked back only to find a giant hole and his car 10 feet lower than when he had left it.

Whilst a news station like CNN needs to cover latest issues over and over again every half hour for a couple of days so that no one misses it, Digg doesn't. If something happens and an article about it reaches the front page on Sunday night, you won't need to keep bumping another article about it to the front page a half hour later as it'll still be there, or on Page Two or the Top Ten. This means that Digg has a lot more space to put fun things that will just drift through the front page at ~500 diggs. On top of that, since the rate that stories make the front page beats the rate at which new content is created, Digg has the ability to show "re-runs" of articles so that more people can see them. - FlickJustice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+75Oh my god! the fabled quick water exists!
- Braxo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+72@ choco
I caused one of those, as a Firefighter I stupidly put a water hammer through the water system (Shutting down a hydrant too fast). An hour after we left a garbage truck drove over the road and the whole thing caved in and the truck sunk.
That was one of my million dollar mistakes, oops. - jo3design, on 10/12/2007, -3/+74I find it kinda cool that the photog caught the series from the moment the car entered the "puddle"
- BicBall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+64I love the fact that there was a person there with a camera waiting for exactly what happened to happen. You know they weren't taking pictures of a puddle, they wanted to see a car end up in it.
- ICSU, on 10/12/2007, -4/+65How is weather in Saudi Arabia today?
- funkedup, on 10/12/2007, -44/+103of course it's a woman driving...
- sofaKing812, on 10/12/2007, -2/+57I wonder if rotten.com has anything to do with the "tasteless" filter.
- VillaStraylight, on 10/12/2007, -7/+58Yeah, I can tell from some of the pixels and from having seen quite a few shops in my time.

"yeah i fell into i giant puddle" - Filozzi23, on 10/12/2007, -9/+30@gawtmilk
Amen to that!
That was the best explanation ever. Thank you! - diversionmary, on 10/12/2007, -5/+25burkha with a slight chance of chador
- x0nIMIn0x, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Live a little more before you ever again call fake on something so obviously real as this.
A friend of mine in high school had this happen to him. The poor, innocent fool saw the puddle and was like, "HELL YEAH." Let's just say he learned a valuable lesson that day.
When they pulled the sunken car out of the water-filled hole in the road, they found a bottle of his mother's communion wine in the trunk. The police charged him with being a minor in possession, and a possible DUI. He had to spend the night in jail, in his wet clothes. - orbanj, on 10/12/2007, -7/+25well since there's construction near by, ill venture out on a limb and say that the construction probably created a sinkhole that opened up when the lady ventured over it. that would also explain why the car is sinking. it would also explain why there is a giant ***** hole in the road but nobody tried fixing it before it rained

pretty much disproves ya. - millertime588, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21@ Andrej73
NICE video! I couldn't stop laughing when that old guy standing there starts yelling at the lady. - TheMidnight, on 10/11/2007, -7/+24In other news, Jack Thompson blames the incident on construction workers playing "Grand Theft Auto" and promises to sue the construction company, its employees, Rockstar Games, Take-Two Software, Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony for facilitating gameplay on their platforms, the city government, the company who made the asphalt for the road, the owner of the property, the car manufacturer for not having pothole warning systems, and the guy who took the picture for encouraging GTA play by minors.
This is kinda old, but still funny. - Scottamus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15Wow, they photoshopped the whole video! Unreal!
'tard. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17This was blocked by my network at work :'(
Reason: The Websense category "Tasteless" is filtered.
- snort88, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Actually it took place in Budapest, Hungary, a few years ago:
A huge water-pipe broke under the pavement. So much water gushed out, they called the firefighters too, to help drain the water.
A newscast crew was sent out, so that's why a camera was present. The whole area was closed down, but apparently, there was a lady, who came out from nearby shop, who just thought, 'what the heck, they wont keep me down...' and tried to brave the sinkhole. Everybody was shouting at her to stop, but she was convinced that they fooling with her, so she kept going...
That's the story.
The car was totaled, and -what a surprise- she didn't get any insurance money. - nreynolds, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16who is King Caps-lock?
- cs02rm0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Yeah one of those big-puddles-appearing-everywhere natural diasters, or those soaking wet fires.

What?
@ raithertarkon
Shut up and get a sense of humor - benitojuarez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12or you could post a link lazy bastard, snopes has an asston of car stories.
- shakin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10I have websense at work and didn't get a message. I guess my workplace thinks tasteless sites are alright :)
- oolitic, on 10/11/2007, -5/+14Chuck Norris would have done it.
- trostle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Good find Andrej73!
- eatsushi, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Andrej nice find!
When I watched that video and saw that woman get out of her car and fall even further down the hole, I farted!!
Good thing it's still morning and no one is at work yet... - bjohns, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10Wow. If you browse youtube you can see a lot of stupid drivers (women.)
For example, this lady rolls a car at about 10 mph. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RMLt28n0-M&mode=related&search= - JoyrexJ9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Couldn't find it on snopes... link????
How the hell would you fake this anyway - that's not a photoshop job. - Justinpirate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I am absolutely amazed to find anything from ol' rotten.com on digg. Thought those people moved on long ago to ogrish and then to other websites after it went dull.
- thelimopit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I like the way a load of guys show up and try and pull the car out with their bare hands.
- yfph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Check the youtube link posted earlier by Andrej73 for the news report of the incident.
- roystgnr, on 10/11/2007, -6/+12@ therealrico
Chingy's first thought was the same as mine: This is just like that Scrubs episode where J.D. is splashing through puddles in his scooter, only to fall into "a big one" that takes him completely underwater. Chingy's current -10 diggs and your confusion about his quote probably means there aren't nearly as many Scrubs fans on Digg as there should be. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5FUN FACT: the dude holding the white bag in the first 8 photos doesn't even move his feet once...
