Unless the flight attendants where standing around watching this happen AA has nothing to do with it. And even then, her compliant would be just against the flight attendants unless she could show that the company has a policy of encouraging people to whack off on other passengers. Are they supposed to be regularly going up and down the isles confirming passengers are in there assigned seats? And what if he was supposed to be sitting next to her?
AA settling with her would open them up to a lot more liability for incidents like this in the future.
