- Illini4Evr, on 05/15/2009, -1/+51can't a guy car jack in peace?
- everywhereasign, on 05/15/2009, -0/+47FTA "In one case, a man...was pumping gas when an armed suspect approached demanding the car keys. The man refused because his 6-month-old son was still in his car seat and the suspect took off."
I pictured it as.
"Give me the keys, ***** sucker!"
"No"
"....Alrighty then, thank you for your time. Bye" - MisterRik, on 05/15/2009, -1/+47An instance where bringing a knife to a gun fight would have made her more, not less, dangerous!
- aarong50, on 05/15/2009, -13/+57Too bad she didn't pull the trigger and save someone else from getting mugged.
- tampatampa, on 05/15/2009, -1/+34That's so rad. Imagine his surprise... *BAM*
- RagManX, on 05/15/2009, -3/+35Cool and funny, but isn't she using the gun wrong in that instance? :)
- relikborg, on 05/15/2009, -0/+31It really depends, would you want to clean little bits of skull and brain matter up inside your car?
- inactive, on 05/15/2009, -9/+40She should have shot him in the face.....
- Jack8274, on 05/15/2009, -3/+30Niko: Stop, I need this ride.
Woman: *THUD*
Roman: NIKO MY CCCCCCCCOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - dupems, on 05/15/2009, -4/+27You know what pisses me off? A pussy with a gun in his hand.
- miketest, on 05/15/2009, -1/+22Go girl Go!!!!
- enoxard, on 05/15/2009, -3/+23being stupid is bad. you should be arrested for the crime of being stupid.
- srs2000, on 05/15/2009, -0/+18You are assuming a lot saying that cars are insured.. Not everyone has or can afford complete comprehensive insurance.
I've been carjacked.. If I could go back in time with a gun.. I'd have killed him. Being made a victim ***** with you for years. - firesphotons, on 05/15/2009, -3/+21Almost dropped his gun...He's lucky it was her, I would have unloaded an entire mag into anyone who pointed a gun at me in the commission of a crime if I had the opportunity.
- Phaedryn, on 05/15/2009, -0/+17If it did it's job (to protect her) then she used it correctly.
It did.
BTW, the vast majority of cases of armed citizens protecting themselves with firearms involve no shots being fired. - dungbeetle, on 05/15/2009, -0/+17Or, you know, defending against someone who thinks they are more entitled to your life than you are.
- srs2000, on 05/15/2009, -1/+18You know how much paperwork is involved in that? Plus shooting someone in the face makes for a very expensive car detailing. Having a gun deters many crimes.. You don't have to shoot the person. Too bad they don't have valid statistics on that.
- dungbeetle, on 05/15/2009, -0/+16Constitutionally, yes. Legally, sadly no.
- digitalArtform, on 05/15/2009, -0/+14"He screamed like a girl. No, not a girl like me; I mean like a regular girl."
:D - Micgee, on 05/15/2009, -0/+13apparently no one caught the Shoot 'Em Up reference...
- psuth1, on 05/15/2009, -0/+12I believe the correct term is, pistol whip
- Rantus, on 06/11/2009, -0/+12He's gonna have a rough time in the klink when word gets out about this.
He looks like someone destined for greatness anyway. - MicFury, on 05/15/2009, -0/+11Watching Equilibrium pays off.
- SaladCactusKing, on 05/15/2009, -0/+11More like. "Oh *****, I don't want no baby."
- Nizzy35, on 05/15/2009, -0/+11Ask Vincent Vega and Jules
- Phaedryn, on 05/15/2009, -0/+10From: http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/pub/ascii/hvfsdaft.tx ...
"Self-defense with firearms
*38% of the victims defending themselves with a firearm attacked the offender, and the others threatened the offender with the weapon.
*A fifth of the victims defending themselves with a firearm suffered an injury, compared to almost half of those who defended themselves with weapons other than a firearm or who had no weapon. Care should be used in interpreting these data because many aspects
of crimes--including victim and offender characteristics, crime circumstances, and offender intent--contribute to the victims' injury outcomes."
Granted, the report is from 1994. However, given the nature of the topic and lack of contrary data, my statement was both reasonable and correct. Unless someone wishes to assert that the number has risen drastically since the, in which case I would like to see the data that lead to this assertion. - fliguy84, on 05/15/2009, -0/+10Gun-Fu
- jaytek13, on 05/15/2009, -3/+11Incredibly brave... and incredibly lucky. She was lucky that this guy was only using the gun as a threat, otherwise things could have been ugly.
- sockpuppets, on 05/15/2009, -0/+8I got to see my best friend shot in the head under a similar circumstance.
Be careful, you never know how much of a danger someone can be. - palehorse864, on 05/15/2009, -0/+8She was probably transporting a contraband puppy.
- inactive, on 05/15/2009, -1/+8Dumb peanut head lookin *****.
- TrichomeKid, on 05/15/2009, -0/+7Sounds more like a low budget porno..
- altgeeky1, on 05/15/2009, -0/+7I see what you did there.
- farmergreg, on 05/15/2009, -0/+7A gun is a tool and I am pretty sure I can't whip everybody that wants to steal my car but I can damm sure shoot them
- inactive, on 05/15/2009, -1/+8Ammo is too hard to come by to empty a clip into someone. One .45ACP hydrashock at point blank would be MORE than plenty.
- inactive, on 05/15/2009, -0/+7There are three groups of people in this world, predators, victims, and people that refuse to be either. Good to see somebody standing up for themselves.
- inactive, on 05/15/2009, -0/+7If people don't seem to get a joke then it's probably not a very good one.
- crossmr, on 05/16/2009, -0/+6Seriously..this guy needs to get a new job, he's not cut out for crime.
- Trigonometron, on 05/15/2009, -0/+6lol gunpunch
- siszam, on 05/15/2009, -6/+12A gun is for self defense when your life in danger. It's not shoot people over material possessions that can be replaced. If you don't know that you have no business owning a gun.
- noahgelman, on 05/15/2009, -1/+7obvious troll is obvious
- verynegative, on 05/15/2009, -0/+6You wouldnt reach for it, instead you'd scream like a girl.
- sockpuppets, on 05/15/2009, -0/+5We were carjacked. My friend was killed. This guy could easily have killed her.
Personally I'd have shot him dead, but that's probably based on my past experience. - rilian, on 05/15/2009, -0/+5lets do a quick logic lesson...the guy trying to take her car had a gun => she had reason to fear for her life => justified in using deadly force. QED
All that said, I'm glad she didn't have to take a life to save herself. Now her attacker will have to stand and face charges in court (assuming the suspect caught is the attacker) - farmergreg, on 05/15/2009, -0/+5Many of us believe fighting back and dieing is a far better solution than just handing them my property.
- MicFury, on 05/15/2009, -0/+5Well he did scream like a girl.
- iansh, on 05/15/2009, -1/+6These carjackers are some pussies.
FTA: Other carjacking attempts included a woman standing next to her car in the Regency Apartments when she was approached but she screamed and scared off the bandit.
