- DiggItalia, on 08/31/2008, -4/+20If my PC speaker starts beeping "fur elise" with no reason in the middle of the night, it would scare the ***** out of me. This is serious stuff.
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -2/+15Ummm if you knew anything about Beethoven you would have known he was German..... Fur Elise is German for.... Tada For Elise.. So no he didn't have poor handwriting. You just have poor understanding.
- sexybobo, on 08/31/2008, -0/+13If he turns his pc off the 800gig pron torrent will stop downloading.
- wiirdo, on 08/31/2008, -1/+11Better than Another One Bites The Dust.
- gatepc, on 08/31/2008, -12/+20this is old
- jsynnott, on 08/31/2008, -0/+7Oh man, you messed up BADLY.
- OneLess, on 08/31/2008, -0/+7Glad you said German. As the saying goes, the Austrians' greatest accomplishments are convincing people that Hitler was German and that Beethoven was Austrian.
- Rudegar, on 08/31/2008, -0/+6it's really Für Elise not Fur elise
but most keyboards dont have odd german chars on them so - gymbrall, on 08/31/2008, -1/+7They should have chosen something by Duke Ellington or Miles Davis. We could have called it the blues song of death...
- davidlick, on 08/31/2008, -0/+5Oh how I wish...
- Balanced, on 08/31/2008, -2/+7Not really Microsoft's thing... More the BIOS makers. Microsoft, in this case, just gets the blame and to play 1st line support.
- mooboy322, on 08/31/2008, -19/+23buried, this was already on digg.
http://digg.com/microsoft/I_kid_you_not_What_to_do ... - AndrewDB, on 08/31/2008, -0/+4I'd be more worried if my computer started beeping out Popcorn by Gershon Kingsley in the middle of the night..
- Rudegar, on 08/31/2008, -1/+5then turn off your pc at night
and if it still start to play it
you got every right to get scared! :P - inactive, on 08/31/2008, -0/+4I don't get why the speakers need to know the computer crashed.
- Dested, on 08/31/2008, -3/+7So what you're saying is if I am hearing it I am already *****
- thevoiceless, on 08/31/2008, -19/+23To the two people who have already talked about this being old or already on Digg, just shut up. No one cares if you've seen it before.
- saucercrab, on 08/31/2008, -0/+4Wouldn't "Daisy Bell" be more appropriate?
- essjay, on 08/31/2008, -0/+3It's not that bad, just a fan. Now, if it starts playing Beethoven's 5th, THEN you're ***** (best to get a rain coat and a wooden stake).
- cygnus2112, on 08/31/2008, -1/+4Elise was very furry. Wolfgang just wanted to shave her.
It's a love ballad. - cygnus2112, on 08/31/2008, -0/+2Or Ludwig ... just in case someone noticed.

I've got a lot of characters most people don't use ^.^ - prgmctan, on 08/31/2008, -0/+2They shouldn't. They're a pretty suicidal bunch on average. They'll likely take down the whole ***** machine, for good. If you can help it, don't tell the speakers anything. They're very emotional when it comes to these kinds of things.
- ajbl, on 08/31/2008, -0/+2That your computer can still do science
- scabbers, on 08/31/2008, -0/+2I unplugged the pc speaker connection - so mine could be trying to warn me of the end of the world by playing "can't touch this" for all I know.
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -0/+2I can feel my mind going, Dave.
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -0/+2Public domain songs ftw.
- acceleration, on 08/31/2008, -0/+2I'll go one further and say that it is actually spelt "Für Elise" (with an umlaut, ü).
If the ü character can't be used (due to technical limitations or otherwise), then it should be spelt "Fuer Elise". - twiztidsinz, on 08/31/2008, -0/+2I'm not one to hop on the "old" bandwagon... but this is OLD.
Up to 13 years old to be exact... The same "old" that is the Weezer video being on Windows95 CDs - prgmctan, on 08/31/2008, -0/+2Für Elise
- viper565, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1WE NEED A VIDEO.
- MisterFawkes, on 08/31/2008, -3/+4Fur Elise = Owned
- ryanpw, on 08/31/2008, -9/+10so old! =(
- ammundsen, on 08/31/2008, -1/+2I dont think this is actually a Microsoft issue. According to the service bulletin it is a feature of certain bioses.
CPU fan failure is very important since on modern, high speed processors a non-functioning fan can destroy a chip in seconds. I believe most bioses these days will just shut the computer down if the CPU fan speed falls below a certain threshold. - thejokeriswild, on 08/31/2008, -1/+2Couldn't have summed it up better myself lol, If anyone has actually gone through some of the media files within, say a copy of XP, you just start to ask yourself are these really necessary? Then microsoft comes rolling along and shows some deeper meaning to life XD. Hats off to microsoft for an innovative way of telling the customer your computer is ***** but really a simple pop up would have sufficed.....
- machinaBleed, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1wolfgang? mozart time travelled forward just to shave the subject of beethoven's piece? i mean... despite that comment being rather unfunny, it was the rape of the names of 2 of history's greatest composers that upsets the most ;)
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1what would "Still Alive" mean?
- TheHardDisk, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1No one listens to techno, now let's go.
- SSUK, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1Why Fur Elise? Moonlight Sonata would fit the mood perfectly.
- sinembarg0, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1single user mode is not safe mode.
- leamanc, on 08/31/2008, -1/+1Actually, there is a Safe Mode for Mac OS X. Hold down Apple-S at boot. Whether or not you need it is another story.
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -1/+1the statement was: "It does not NEED a safe mode!"
so your comment was both unnecessary and irrelevant. - inactive, on 08/31/2008, -1/+1you (grammar) nazi!
- wilhoitm, on 08/31/2008, -1/+1I have a Mac! It does not need a safe mode!
- LiQuiDCo2, on 08/31/2008, -2/+1Buried due to age welcome to the past...
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -3/+1Either that, or you just pissed off the ghost of Beethoven.
- fernandojohann, on 08/31/2008, -12/+9oh microsoft, you rock
- supertommy90, on 08/31/2008, -6/+2haha, this has been dugg before, but it is worth putting up here again.
- Ramenhood, on 08/31/2008, -5/+1My bad, the 'fur therese' was the bad handwriting thing.
- Ramenhood, on 08/31/2008, -16/+2I believe that's "For Elise"
Beethoven had poor handwriting.
