- KMye, on 10/30/2007, -22/+325You're in a weird little world of your own if you think this country is on the brink of revolution. We have near record-low unemployment, and base comforts are more affordable then ever. The populace isn't even unsettled enough to put forward any non-establishment candidates other than the daffy trainwreck that is Ron Paul. I really get the feeling that if they bombed Iran tomorrow, 30% of the country would cheer, 10% would protest, 1% would riot, and the other 59% would grumble, yawn, and forget about it. And worst of all, Cheney knows it.
- ddcrandall, on 10/30/2007, -4/+284fool me one...shame on you. fool me twice...you can't get fooled again.
- NoStoppingUs, on 10/29/2007, -6/+88who is ron paul?

give me a break you bellend. - kazamx, on 10/29/2007, -3/+78I think he means how much choice did bush give the American people. You really had no say in going to Iraq and if they decide to go to Iran, there isn't anything you can do about it.
- Frozo, on 10/29/2007, -2/+65They keep creeping the idea into the American consciousness so that when it finally happens, we already have accepted it. We are defeated before they deploy the first troops.
If you're told you're going to get punched in the face every day, you'll eventually give in and say "just punch me already!" - Frozo, on 10/29/2007, -3/+61The eminent danger that forced us into Iraq was the naivety of the average American citizen.
- sorrow, on 10/29/2007, -19/+69I agree -- but how much of a choice did we REALLY have with Iraq??
- Syntaxis, on 10/29/2007, -2/+46You should come to Europe, plenty of work for educated people here. And most countries don't mind speaking English, either.
- Grumps, on 11/01/2007, -3/+45Thank god Putin placed a threat that if US attack Iran, it will be as though US attacked Russian soil. Senate never bloody cared about middle eastern country. Now this will make Senate think more compared to Iran alone.
- mathmanjeffy, on 10/29/2007, -6/+47Good luck finding a Nazi-era helmet with a spike on top.

My favorite part is the way he grips the podium when he realized he can't finish the thought. - mookiemookie, on 10/29/2007, -3/+42That wasn't Nazi-era, that was WWI era.
- markncream, on 10/29/2007, -2/+39whatch y'all talkin bout sons? we need to get those waepooons of mass destruction in operation freedom eagle soar freedom middle east. Y'all are a bunch of unamerican unpatriotic commys who aint carin about 911 anymore. y'all need to get your guns and go over and free ereyone in the middle east cause our prezident says so. **Me imitating every idiot in the country and there are a lot of them. Another war is going to happen and the American people or spineless Democrats will do nothing about it. The America we once knew and loved is no longer here.**
- johnn11238, on 10/29/2007, -2/+39That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
- str3ama, on 10/30/2007, -56/+91I don't think Bush et Al. can get another war past the American people...I mean the country is already on the brink of revolution, something like attacking Iran is the last straw..I could see some sort of mass riot taking place if they did (assuming we're still in Iraq at the time).
- kazamx, on 10/29/2007, -2/+37And which bit of Europe do you think will go to war with Iran? The only people to support you in Iraq (British) will have nothing to do with it.
- toastgodsupreme, on 10/29/2007, -5/+32Like we could stop him?
I don't like this any better than you, but really, people in general are retarded sheep. No one is going to stop him. All the bitching and moaning we do here on digg, and on blogs, etc, won't change a damn thing. We're *****. - Arcotik, on 10/29/2007, -7/+34The idea of the cartoon is to make people realize what is happening. So that you lazy ***** get off your lazy asses and do something about it. Jesus Christ, we are screwed if these are the only responses it gets.
- Spetz, on 10/29/2007, -0/+21Yup. It's an Imperialist joke.
- pulsifier, on 10/29/2007, -27/+48i'll be ***** rioting, that's for sure. low unemployment my ass. unless you mean high employment in the service and retail industries, which is hardly employment at all. it's been nearly 3 years since i graduated with a B.S. in chemical engineering, and the only opportunities available to me are assistant manager positions at the ***** mall. and base comforts should be low if im going to pay up, around, and out my ass for rent. ***** this hell hole.
- joaneee, on 10/29/2007, -3/+24This may sound a little naive but, why does the government get to decide who has nuclear weapons? If we truly want to be a beacon of truth and power, lets start by getting rid of our own weapons of mass destruction. Why is it okay for us to have them but no one else. Are we so morally upright and just that our nukes will never be used for their intended purpose...death of millions? After all, history shows we are the only ones who have actually ever employed such heinous tactics. I realize that there are many powerful and evil people out there but holding that huge double standard will never get us anywhere.
- inactive, on 10/29/2007, -0/+20You obviously haven't read some of pulsifier's other comments.
- theblooms, on 10/29/2007, -2/+22"B.S. in chemical engineering, and the only opportunities available to me are assistant manager positions at the ***** mall."
Sorry, but I call *****. I have a BS in Chemistry. I am PERPETUALLY employed and get e-mail requests for interviews CONSTANTLY, even though I am extremely happy where I am right now. Since graduation in 2003, I am on my 4th job, each one higher paying and better hours than the last. And this is in a town of only 100,000. If you REALLY have a Chem.E. and can't find a job, it's YOUR fault. Period.
- drewdvorak, on 10/29/2007, -2/+21Yeah Bush thinks war is good for the country, not news anymore. Just normal day to day now.
- cmost, on 10/29/2007, -5/+24You seem to be under the impression that the American people THINK, let alone make smart judgement calls regarding whether or not it will "go along" with another war. We are talking about a populace who voted Bush into office AGAIN, knowing what a liar and screw-up he was, simply to avoid same sex couples from marrying. WTF!?!? Ask yourself who really makes the decisions in this country. The people, or the select few uber rich and powerful who stay out of the public eye but are quietly pulling the strings behind the curtains of this facade of a democracy. If those in power want to go after Iran next, they will and the American people won't have much to say about it. It's really frightening when you think about it. The trick, is to THINK!
- scabbers, on 10/29/2007, -0/+19Something tells me waymatter is talking out of his ass.

Maybe your idea of what an entry level position should be is a bit skewed. - Zephkiel, on 10/29/2007, -0/+16Since we didn't serve in the army, we have no right to have freedom of speech...? And it's not like Bush and his whole cabinet are idiots. They're simply working towards their agenda rather than that of the American people.
Not to mention the fact that most soldiers in Iraq are donating to Democratic candidates for the election. - DirtySnachez, on 10/29/2007, -7/+23Thanks America.
- pintomp3, on 10/29/2007, -5/+20AIPAC demands it, it will happen.
- sineyopitty, on 10/29/2007, -0/+14But they REALLY mean it this time. REALLY!
/sarcasm - esmaeelp, on 10/29/2007, -1/+15because they consume their oil at a loss
- dougmwpsu, on 10/29/2007, -1/+14@ Pulsifer: First of all, your math is wrong. Second of all, no one wants to hire someone with a bad attitude.
- theblooms, on 10/29/2007, -1/+14Pulsifier, you have some SERIOUS issues, man, and the reason you can't find a job is showing.
At the VERY least, you should take ANY job in the Chemical Industry, including being an Operator. Being a Chemical Operator doesn't even require a HS Diploma, and you should STILL be making $16+/hour doing that, while gaining INVALUABLE experience in the industry.
Seriously, do you even KNOW what a Chem.E. DOES? From your posts, I highly doubt it. Pretty much they are glorified Chemical Operators anyway. A Ph.D. gives you a mechanism, and you look at how the plant is laid out, and you figure out how to use the plant's facilities to go from microscale (in the lab making milliliters to liters of a chemical) to macroscale (making it by the 100's or 1000's of gallons). Being a Chem.E. is an extremely important job, and they are in high demand EVERYWHERE.
The only reason YOU can't find a job is YOU.
- mdoerr, on 10/29/2007, -0/+13That appears to be some sort of German or Prussian military hat.

- Stryder81, on 10/29/2007, -1/+13" We can just come home " - Ron Paul
- Syntaxis, on 10/29/2007, -5/+17If only the European Union would do the same. Ya can't say much good about Putin, but I'd really support going to war with the USA if they dare attack Iran. Stop waging war already, focus on education and health care. Hell, Bush oughta ask for a few billion to get people in New Orleans real houses, instead of trailers. At least that'd be a noble thing to do.
- pulsifier, on 10/29/2007, -8/+20im actually in grad school right now to make myself more attractive for such prospects. once i get that M.S./Ph.D im out to NZ, OZ or, EU for sure.
- nickerbocker, on 10/29/2007, -1/+12The whole world hates us.
- Syntaxis, on 10/29/2007, -4/+15I really doubt Europe will be assisting the USA in Iran. We just don't like the USA enough, and we just don't dislike Iran enough. Let them build their nukes, big deal - your psychopath G. W. Bush has nukes, too. Look at what he's doing. If anything, the biggest threat in the world is the USA at the moment. Not Iran, not by a long shot.
- wildc4t, on 10/29/2007, -0/+11Reminds me of something one of my old teachers used to say: "If you're a white male and can't make it in this world, it's your fault."
- stillasleep00, on 10/29/2007, -0/+11I wish everyone in this country would read The Constitution...
- theblooms, on 10/29/2007, -1/+11Believe me, you will have NO problems getting a job with a Chem.E. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a moron. As long as you don't mind taking ***** night shift hours (you ARE a new grad so you really can't complain), the pay is great and the work is generally VERY rewarding. Welcome to the Chemical Industry!
- SkittlesUSA, on 10/29/2007, -3/+13Right. It's the governments fault you work in a mall!!!! It's Bush's fault!!! Damn him!
I'm sorry, but if you can't make it here, you can't make it anywhere.
Now stop whining please and do something besides tell everybody on the internet how it is the system's fault you have a ***** job. - liverj00, on 10/29/2007, -0/+10@pulsifier
Steven's sucks. "Top engineering program in the world" my ass. Maybe the top engineering program in Hoboken, NJ. I interviewed a whole bunch of kids from there... I found 1 worthy of a second round, the others I couldn't believe were getting a degree. - IShouldBeWorkin, on 10/29/2007, -1/+11dugg for use of the word 'bellend'
