- J0hnnyBlaze, on 11/03/2009, -1/+306tax + gratuity = $10,580.09
- broomstick3, on 11/03/2009, -4/+306The gratuity alone is more than I make in 3 months.
- johntpullen, on 11/03/2009, -0/+259The $35,000 they spent on bottles really bumped the total up a bit....
- nullcodes, on 11/03/2009, -20/+250I bet you too could cut down ur expenses. Maybe buy the cheapest shirt at walmart .. survive on Ramen noodles and vitamin pills .. etc.
So why don't you? there are people starving to death. - jester55, on 11/03/2009, -3/+232Yea this guy is just an amateur multi-millionaire.
- lolwatermelon, on 11/03/2009, -10/+228You can't be too smart if you're spending $50k on something that you're going to drop off in the ***** in a few hours.
- shadowofdeath15, on 11/03/2009, -1/+186$12 water damn..... that's worse than a $5 shake

http://digg.com/celebrity/Russian_Billionaire_Blow ... - pharmokan, on 11/03/2009, -4/+161the food isnt the thing that was expensive
its the horribly overpriced champagne and alcohol that makes up for $41,000 of the bill. - linagee, on 11/03/2009, -1/+147REAL Billionaires buy stock in Carl's Jr and then tell their friends what awesome burgers they have there.
- awtripp, on 11/03/2009, -0/+134and $35000 was on alcohol. You just tipped 7 grand for someone to bring you several bottles of insanely expensive wine/champagne.
- scottc, on 11/03/2009, -2/+127I bought a $12 water...aka Bud Light...at a concert this summer.
- bizzywho, on 11/03/2009, -2/+108Actually, this isn't uncommon for any restaurant in densely-populated, metropolitan areas.
Trust me, if you've worked in a city restaurant, you'd never want to eat at another restaurant EVER again. - Snoogs, on 11/03/2009, -0/+87Wait, so it doesn't have any bourbon in it or nothin?
- dysonlu, on 11/03/2009, -0/+86$35K of alcohol to wash down that $39 spaghetti and $15 tiramisu. Nice.
- slapded, on 11/03/2009, -3/+85tip calculator asplodes...
- lucutus, on 11/03/2009, -0/+80I managed several in NY for years. We never had an inspection that bad. The worst ever was 16 points because someone had not replaced the cover on some chicken in the cooler. No soap? No Sink near the prep area? ugh.
BTW you are correct I do not recall the last time I ate in a restaurant. :) - CrazedLeper, on 11/03/2009, -3/+83Lol.. Was totally going to comment on that. You can't be too smart if you're laying out that kind of bread for water. The stuff falls from the sky, for goodness sakes.
- RudeTurnip, on 11/03/2009, -1/+80Thank you, Mr. Pink.
- PleaseJustDie, on 11/03/2009, -0/+76They didn't have to tip, there is an automatic 20% tip calculated into the receipt. Its at the bottom: "20% Gratuity" So that waiter/waitress got nearly an 8k tip just from the automatic one tacked onto the bill.
- bluechips23, on 11/03/2009, -2/+77One lunch for the rich billionaire = two of my student loans! Thanks to those loans, I can't even afford a $10 lunch every day after graduation!
- tgc1, on 11/03/2009, -3/+76You, sir, are a classless ass.
- BrandonShea, on 11/03/2009, -54/+126And still people starve all around us...

Fixed - PsychoPNut, on 11/03/2009, -8/+76i love your comment
- psybermonkey, on 11/03/2009, -1/+69Apparently the place sucks: http://newyork.citysearch.com/profile/map/7150725/ ...
- Hood15, on 11/03/2009, -1/+63Seeing as he's a billionaire, not going to question his intelligence. He must have done something right. Either to get that money or to not lose that money.
- KidVicious, on 11/03/2009, -3/+64This just reminds me why I hate gratuity being mandatory. It's a reward for decent service. Unless you spit in my food or bring the wrong stuff, I'm gonna tip at least 15%. But don't call it "gratuity" and put it on the bill.
- jeffwmartin, on 11/03/2009, -1/+62I'd guess that at a restaurant that serves $5,000 bottles of wine, the waiters/waitresses probably already make more than I do as a software developer.
- happyimbecile, on 11/03/2009, -0/+61If you look a the pre-tax and tip total, it's in the 36,000 range, so really it's only about $1000 worth of food. And half of that is truffles.
- ZonGuy, on 11/03/2009, -1/+61Wargala, you're a pretty big douchebag.
- Memnochxx, on 11/03/2009, -0/+60That's not the point. The point was you paid somebody $7,000 to bring you a couple of bottles.
- dumbum, on 11/03/2009, -0/+60That tip is gonna be more than the waiter makes in a month
- CrazedLeper, on 11/03/2009, -2/+60The meal is almost what I make in a year....before taxes.
- dshPls, on 11/03/2009, -2/+60diguptruth77, how does it feel to be destroyed in an argument by someone who says "ur"?
- mikeserv, on 11/03/2009, -8/+66Ahh... Trickle-down economics really does work!
- Apokalyps2547, on 11/03/2009, -0/+57$7328.20 over 3 months comes out to over $29k per year.
More than a quarter of all HOUSEHOLDS in the Unites States make less than that.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Income_in_the_United_ ... - Mtdewrulz, on 11/03/2009, -10/+64That should be labeled "when a billionaire gets thirsty." Almost all of the bulk of the cost is wine and champagne. Unfortunately for the waiter, it is not necessarily customary to tip 15 - 20% on expensive bottles of alcohol. I'm sure he'll get a sizable tip that will make his night/week/month but he's not getting 10 grand.
- RSS14, on 11/03/2009, -7/+59The billionaire has every right to spend HIS money on whatever he wants. Why should he get demonized for that?
- nullcodes, on 11/03/2009, -1/+52diguptruth77
There are millions of people earning less than a dollar a day. So if you save even $30 a month and send it to them .. that'll be a big deal to 'em.
You can make a difference but you choose not to, and on top of that ur caustic to others who act in the same "selfish" manner. - diggdong, on 11/03/2009, -1/+52quick copy paste most dugg quotes
