- smoothmedia, on 10/11/2007, -5/+111None of these people "hyphenated" their names. The newspaper just writes wedding headlines by combining the surnames of the bride and groom. So while it may be the Wang-Holder wedding, they will be known as Mr. & Mrs. Holder afterwords.
- IShouldBeWorkin, on 10/11/2007, -10/+113Jay Leno ripoffs, but still funny
- xstarsprinklesx, on 10/11/2007, -3/+73Somehow I'm not surprised that most Diggers don't know how couples' names are listed in wedding announcements..
- TenebrousX, on 10/11/2007, -2/+32I liked Hardy-Harr the best
- VigilanteP, on 10/11/2007, -1/+28They didn't chose to have their last name hyphenated for the rest of their lives, thats just how the newspapers report a wedding so that you know which family the bride is from as well. I'm sure with a combination like that they opted for a single last name. I hope.
- bumbles617, on 10/11/2007, -0/+19My friend's boss became Mrs. Craven-Cox after she got married.
- Muncher, on 10/11/2007, -4/+22Most of those could have been avoided by switching the order, but "Holder-Wang" sounds just as perverse.
- KnightMareInc, on 10/11/2007, -6/+24leno > crappy blog
- EnderMB, on 10/11/2007, -0/+17My bad. Thanks for correcting me.
- solidhubris, on 10/11/2007, -5/+17These are marriage announcements out of a newspaper and aren't necessarily hyphenated surnames. But I guess most of you don't read that daily fold-able thingamajigger with all that greasy ink on it.
- Kev0, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12OK CAPTAIN OBVIOUS.
- idonthack, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12They probably should have just thrown "Wang" out altogether. You can't win there.
- pivovy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12she'll get to hold his wang anyway
- andregriffin, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12No. It just was't funny.
- kidblast, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10I went to school with 2 decent ones...White-Chism and Bender-Ober. The Bender-Ober one was actually used by Leno in one of the "Headlines" segments. Hardy Harr.
- andregriffin, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14That's funny neither in nor out of context.
- Hipple, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10I saw your comment three comments up...buried
- dippyskoodlez, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Hardy-Harr that was funny.
- racer108, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10Dugg up for admitting you were wrong.
- jj2me, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10My favorite example of misuse of the hyphen: When the Chattanooga Times Free Press purchased the Chattanooga News, and renamed itself the Chattanooga News-Free Press.

;-) - EnderMB, on 10/11/2007, -7/+15The first one has to be the best. What were these people thinking?!
- freakout1, on 10/11/2007, -3/+11Jay Leno always has these, they're funnier on the show...
- crazzy88ss, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10Probably because 95% of diggers aren't married.
- Phipman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6My stalker senses are tingling
- aaronm67, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Because obviously the first thought going through their minds should be "Oh, you mean our hyphenated name will look stupid in the newspaper for a whole day? Clearly we can't get married."
- blahtastic, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Yeah headlines has a pile of them about once a month (yes I know headlines is on every Monday there is a new show, but they save up some wedding ones for awhile it seems). I've seen all of these on there...(Its my favorite skit :D)
- MonkCanatella, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Anything > Leno
- Ductapemaster, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I call BS
- smackywentz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I don't recall this being a stupid ***** top 10 list.
- evillaundry, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5My best friend's maiden name was Sawyer, and she married a guy who's last name is Nutt. I will never forget the moment I realized that her name was going to be Nicole Sawyer-Nutt. That always cheers me up when I'm feeling down.
- Fragger404, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5OMG, I know one of those people!
Jennifer Lay is a general practice physician in Knoxville, TN. Maryville, the town listed in the ad, is about 10 to 12 miles south of downtown. - aussieNickuss, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Hardy-Harr....thats was a funny story.
- S4MF1SHER, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I was looking at the article and I thought to myself, "Holy *****, is Jay Leno submitting stories to Digg?"
Frickin ridiculous that this has 1000+ diggs
Buried as who-gives-*****. - davidrools, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6I think Wang-Holder is actually better than if it were reversed.
- racer108, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I noticed the Leno rip offs too. If you look close at the edge of the pics, you can even see that black background Jay uses!
Call the NBC lawyers! - cmiller1, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5maybe they became the Wangs
- harksaw, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Right. But the headline indicated that they SHOULDN'T hyphenate their names, not that they did.
- boober, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2**taken from the site**

I ran across a file at my work ~ a month ago. The gentleman's last name was Poon and the answer to his security question indicated that his mother's maiden name was Tang.
nice! - Klarth, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4My stepfather's last name is Brown, and a relative of his married a lady whose last name was Smelye. They made an announcement in the paper, and the person on the other end of the phone apparently had a sense of humour or hearing problems:
"Brown and Smelly to wed". - JefffN, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I used to know someone named Sporn-Star. And yes, that was his real last name. You'd think at the least they would flip it the other way.
- hjartad, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Yes, I know, actually. I am not American. I was not saying which pronunciation is correct, which is why I said "an alternate".
- homanh, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Wow funny joke...
Isn't it a bit old now? what is this, the 5674534234234263456252325th time this joke is used on digg? - 666dorado, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Thisstory-*****
- bitemark, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3That's Turtle-Neck, you hardy-harr, smug-lacking, un-original.
- Trax91, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Its "Her" said by Jack or Dina Byrnes.
- DforSpiD, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2It looks funny regardless...
- dracianightcat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I guess that page was popular with 4chan too...
- disoriented, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3honestly....not funny
- lintmonkey, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Too bad you'll never get married.
