- egonSchiele, on 12/02/2007, -11/+319buried as incorrect. Turns out he's the man who funded the War.
- ThreeDee912, on 12/02/2007, -10/+249Woops, replied to wrong article. Bury.
- Wacer, on 12/02/2007, -0/+203I will dig every one of these type mistakes up until Digg puts in a cancel button.
- usf2007, on 12/02/2007, -2/+196The sad part about this is if Wachovia had made a mistake for a couple of thousand, they would have just reported him as delinquent to credit agencies, despite their error. I guess if they screw up, you need them to screw up big in order to get apologies from their president and action on fixing it.
- Jereso, on 12/02/2007, -1/+172So this guy owes a bank 45 times the total amount of currency circulating the world? Tough.
- DesertDude, on 12/02/2007, -2/+136Bury? Oh we'll bury you alright...WITH LOVE.
- Foot56, on 12/02/2007, -3/+103Looks like he can fund the Iraq War for....
*pulls out calculator*
1 Day.... - inactive, on 12/02/2007, -1/+92Haha, I was wondering where wachovia could possibly get $211 trillion from, it's was the guy's bank account number.
- philz, on 12/02/2007, -2/+71It's a joke, moron.
- longzheng, on 12/02/2007, -0/+66A few extra night shifts should do it
- Paranoidmarvin, on 12/02/2007, -2/+63Yeah, and £2.50
- keviniskool, on 12/02/2007, -0/+54No, he funded all wars of mankind. The Iraq war is only a measly 3 trillion.
- Yodacola, on 12/02/2007, -0/+48I once got charged for $871.22 for a pizza and breadsticks from Pizza Hut. It was my ZIP code. Sometimes I wonder what $871.22 worth of pizza looks like.
- redrock34, on 12/02/2007, -1/+47Shouldn't have told anyone and bought some Wachovia stock. As soon as investors saw $211 trillion on accounts receivable that baby is gonna go through the roof!
- TekJansen64, on 12/02/2007, -1/+46Just like the American economy.
- xGrill, on 12/02/2007, -0/+43and to think that I used to write bank software for wachovia!
....
oh crap - STARTSOMETHING, on 12/02/2007, -0/+40"$211 trillion is more than 70 times the entire federal budget."
Priceless. - fxu1989, on 12/02/2007, -1/+40Payback time, the American way: SUE THEM FOR SCARING THE CRAP OUT OF YOU!

/MelGibsonReferenceDon'tBuryMeI'mOnlyJoking - LordByr0n, on 12/02/2007, -0/+30Yes, because it is a priceless comment.
- gboom, on 12/02/2007, -1/+30That depends, in Quebec it is 10$, every other Canadian province it's $10.....makes more sense to write it the first way when you think about it, but I still hates it!
- Arramol, on 12/02/2007, -0/+28So you're the reason we have a half cent taken out of every transaction and diverted to a Swiss bank account!
- WiZZLa, on 12/02/2007, -0/+27I guess you didn't get it Quakee.
- Heracles, on 12/02/2007, -4/+30Wow, this guy is singlehandedly financing Bush's wars.
- Pixelpaws, on 12/02/2007, -0/+26Sometimes you don't notice that you're replying in the wrong post until after you've clicked submit. If Digg lets you have two minutes to edit a comment, why can't you use that same two minutes to retract a comment you made in error, double posted, or otherwise didn't mean to make at all?
- inactive, on 12/02/2007, -3/+28Uniquely American, isn't it.
- Nesk, on 12/02/2007, -0/+23Not to be picky... but it was the price of a cheese pizza and large soda.
- dillibob, on 12/02/2007, -0/+23goddammit, now i know how it feels with all those hundreds of canadian jokes i made. freaking karma

- jmreid, on 12/02/2007, -0/+17What? Dude I spent $50 every 6 steps I take. I WISH my credit card bill was $50 a month.
- cambob76, on 12/02/2007, -0/+17zOMG! Y2K is finally rearing its ugly head! Run for the hills!
- xOKxWhy, on 12/02/2007, -0/+16Rediculous? It's not even ridiculous.
- doctorfungi, on 12/02/2007, -5/+21Stop raping children please.
Thank you. - Bonekhan, on 12/02/2007, -9/+24He's doing more to solve this national deficit than any politician!
- Sil369, on 12/02/2007, -0/+15A+++++!!!!
- theinept, on 12/02/2007, -0/+15Looks like Wachovia's sub-prime lending issues have been resolved! It's just a matter of time before all the other banks follow suit.
- KLowD9x, on 12/02/2007, -1/+15Why?
Because a bank sent him a letter with an incorrect amount listed on it? People make mistakes. Someone entered something wrong somewhere. It's not the end of the world.
But, what do you want to do? Sue them?
Can you be any more of a typical American? - themoosejuice, on 12/02/2007, -0/+14Explain that on your credit report? 211 trillion? Yeah, I got a little out of hand with my Amex card. Everyone makes mistakes.
- YojimboJango, on 12/02/2007, -0/+14I work for a bank and see this all the time. Tellers will punch in the wrong number or punch it in twice. I saw one check last week for 15,000.00 entered in as 150,000,015,000.00
- joebagodonuts, on 12/02/2007, -0/+14No - you have to get Channel 2 involved and much bad publicity (public attention) to get an apology and promise that it won't affect your credit. According to the guy, this wasn't the first time Wachovia screwed up.
- ChrisofKent, on 12/02/2007, -0/+13Having worked in a bank myself, I think that what has happened is that an employee made an error filling out a standard letter template - entering the account number when they should have put in the amount owed. If this is the case it would have had no effect on anything (eg, credit history of the customer) other than the error in the letter itself.
A humourous mistake - nothing more. - JupiterSSJ4, on 12/02/2007, -0/+13this is exactly the thing we are discussion in Accounting Information Systems, there should be range and limit and boundary checks in place that allow you not to enter things like the account number in the amount owed section, and also there should always be someone checking the work of another.
- DickyT83, on 12/02/2007, -2/+15I think Wachovia accidentally sent him the bill for the Iraq war.
