Ladies, place a pencil under your breast, right up in the..um...crease. Release the pencil. If it hits the ground, you can go topless. If it stays firmly in place, refusing to give in to either gravity or a team of clydesdales, then keep your damn top on. This rule goes double for women who have so many "curves" that the only differentiation between breast and roll is the nipple.

      There has been topless beaches all over Europe for at least 30 years. Every resort around the Mediterranian are topless, so are the Canary Islands and so are the beaches in Denmark.
      When I lived over the pond, we always went down to the south on vacations and I'm raised on topless and nude beaches.

Maybe you could look at it this way: breasts are sexually attractive because men want a woman who has big boobs, why? Because the bigger the boobs, the more milk she may be able to produce, and the more babies she can have.

For the record, whether or not it was related to breast size, I have known several women with smaller chests who had difficulty with breastfeeding. I don't assume that was the reason though. Malnutrition plays a big part. You'd be shocked at how much breastfeeding can drain the entire female body. Anyway, I was just offering a theory, to oppose those guys who say that breasts' main purpose is sexual attraction. Obviously, from a female perspective that's not true. But then again, I don't flaunt them for money either.

        There are a group of breast milk glands that look a bit like a bunch of grapes...each has a duct leading to the nipple. These structures are the ONLY parts that relate to milk production. They are not larger in huge breasts than they are in small ones.
        A woman with small breasts can produce about 32oz a day max ...a woman with E cup breasts produces the same.

Multiply that by 10 feedings per day (at least at the beginning), and how many oz. is that? Obviously a lot more than 32oz. Actually, the more you drain, the more you produce. Breasts hold the milk, which is why breasts get bigger as more milk builds up, and why women start leaking when there's too much (or a baby cries). So, logic dictates that bigger breasts can hold more milk. You know, like a bigger glass holds more water.

          If guys can't imagine breasts being desexed, maybe this conversation will change that.

            I did some googling and there are women who feed 2 babies or who pump like mad and produce
            a prodigious amount..whew.
            But still it is not the size of the breast that matters...that is what all the expert opinion is that you can google up.
            The most I managed to pump was about 30ozs...but I might have got more if I had worked at it a lot harder :-)

From what I've read, you have your various hormone fluctuations during pregnancy, and then as soon as you pop, the body knows to switch gears to produce milk (hormone levels do a 180). But I can imagine that your maternal instincts kicked in and you started producing the progestin that a woman needs to produce milk. Craziness.

            I lasted for about 3 months. I tried to pump when I could during breaks at work, but my supply dwindled from not feeding every hour or so. Also, the cracking and bleeding was not fun. Extremely painful experience for me.

            and I had to take a round of antibiotics. And yes the cracking is murder
            and the pump makes for awfully sore nipples...ouch.
            And don't you just come to dread rigging up the pump every 2 hrs
            and then washing the parts up :-(
            My lactation started with slight tingling in the breasts as I held the baby and
            fed her her bottle.... then a few clear droplets appeared after a few days.
            I would not have missed the opportunity to actually nurse the baby though..
            it is an indescribable thing...but then you know exactly what I mean :-)

Boobs are unnecessary for breast feeding and there probably is no reason males are attracted to larger boobs. The female monkeys have an equivalent of boobs on their butt. I think it was a red butt that attracted the other male or something... When we started to walk on two feet, the butt became more difficult to catch the male's eye, so instead human females started to attract men by boobs. I don't think there is a particular reason for males being attracted to it than instinct.

      The size of the female breast is bigger so it can house mammary glands that produce milk.
      If woman didn't have bigger breasts than men, then it would force the mammary glands into the thoracic cavity,
      forcing other organs in that place around and you would have a biological disaster and no kids.
      It's just perfect the way it is.

      As much as I think of breasts in a sexual way, I also think of them as necessary components to the progression of the human race.

      I was saying that there's more to breasts, biologically than just the nipple. The glands are in the fleshy part of the breast.

      As far as the attraction comment is concerned, I was just saying that part of the sexual attraction could be sub-conscious and based on biological instinct. I think that many of our attractions to others are subconscious and biologically driven.
