aside from the fullness of the cheeks the two actually do look very alike. The reporter looks like the rapist's non-drug-addicted twin. (not saying the rapist is necessarily a drug addict because he is a rapist or black... just that that would explain his sunken cheeks)

People have their own perceptions on what are significant traits to differentiate one person from another. That is why an artist's sketch almost never looks like the intended individual if compared side by side. Learning that this difference in perception exists is key to truly understanding others.
