    The last time I checked, we were not there anymore for WMD's. The focus has changed to stabilizing the area. Watch/read the news every once in a while. Not to say I support the war, because I sure as hell don't, but before you start spouting off your anti-war statements (which really have nothing to do with what this article is about), check your facts. The government came right out and said there weren't any like..years ago.

    What news are you watching that tells you we are looking for Weapons of Mass Destruction? We haven't been looking for those since the capture of Saddam. We are there to stabilize the area, which SOUNDS very noble, but sure as hell isn't working out as planned and no exit plan in sight. I want our troops home as much as anyone else.

    And did you forget this article is about troops having fun? Is that a ***** crime? Get a life dude. If god is telling you to be a dick, you are worshiping the wrong god.

    EDIT: This is NOT a news site! No one is trying to glorify Iraq! It's just showing you that the troops can still manage to have fun in such bad times.

    Yes, you are absolutely, 100% correct. But I will repeat for the 2nd time, that is not the point. We are not there ANYMORE because WMDs. It was just a clever plan to get Americans to support the US going into Iraq in the first place.

    But those claims of WMDs have already been proven false, and the government has already admitted that there weren't any. I feel like I am talking to a wall here. Who is saying we are there for WMDs anymore? Who is lying to you about that? I KNOW that our reason for being there now is basically not having an exit strategy. I've lost 3 friends in Iraq, and I want the rest to come home NOW.

    Why are you carrying on about the WMDs? We all KNOW!!!! Just ***** drop it and join the huge group of people who just want the war to be over. Stop making yourself sound like a 5th grader who spends every day in church and watches the news headlines from 2 years ago.

    No, that's real. We do that often here in Memphis during the summer straightline winds (nicknamed Hurricane Elvis) with good tarps tied to our ankles, and use our hands to act as the other holds so we can let go to stop getting blown around if need be. Yes, you will bite the dust occasionally, but that's why you do it in a field.

The picture was of some troops dicking off for ***** sake yet he tried to make it political because he has a problem with the war. Thats fine that he has a problem, and there is certainly a place for him to voice his opinion, however discussion of a rather funny photo is not the place.

    And for the record there is never a right time to say you are 'against the troops'. You can think Dubya is the worlds biggest ***** (and he might be were it not for the existence of people like Fred Phelps, Jack Thompson and Orinn Hatch), you can think it was wrong that we hung Saddam, you can believe that we went to war for totally fabricated reasons, but there is absolutely no excuse to disrespect the troops, none what so ever. You want to take issue with the war then go straight to the top, those guys on the bottom deserve far better. And unless you did time as a SEAL or some other branch of the Navy where you would have been in a real combat situation your time on a sewer pipe has precisely no correlation to those on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan. You may now proceed to label me as a right-winger because I think only ***** talk ***** about the troops.

    The camo used in the Desert Shield/Storm era was a little different. We in the military call it "Cookie camo" because it had rocks printed on it with the shadows of the rocks printed as well. We got rid of that. The uniforms these guys are wearing is actually the JSLIST chemical protective overgarment. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. I'm in the military, have been to the desert, have worn this stuff...though I have never flown via poncho.

    was awesome .... until you got near the end of the lake!!!!
    also, another time,
    During Hurricane Gloria, We all went outside when the Eye passed over and the wind allowed me to lean over and almost touch the ground and then stand up again. Was awesome. My Friends little mini dog got lifted off the ground like a foot, it yelped and ran back in the house.. very funny. (Wishes he had a video camera back then)

    Remember, soldiers are just normal people doing a, rather horrible, job. They are not killing machines.

But no one has said there were any in like 2 years, and no one said we were STILL in Iraq because of them. We are there to stabilize the area. Set up a democracy (which is failing miserably). Not find WMDs. That hasn't been the publicly known reason for war for a long time. So shut your trap about the WMDs. We KNOW already!

    Those are not BDUs, it is the new chemical protective suit (JSLIST)
    You can tell from the velcro on the angles and wrists, and because of the hood. Just so happens they make 2 different color patterns for 2 different enviroments (the green pattern you see in the picture along with the desert pattern).
