- mogdor, on 07/13/2009, -1/+78Video is real. "fake ufo movie" story was concocted by the US government to avoid mass hysteria. I'm gonna go find my tinfoil hat.
- maximm, on 07/12/2009, -3/+75wow see the comment below the story. Someone needs to get laid. Dude tells a cute story about his kids and gets a lecture from a freak in response.
________________
mark, are you a believer? Apparently not. By allowing your sons to post "fake" ufo's on you tube, I'm sure that you were very proud of them for their ingenuity on creating something of this Quality. At the same time these "fake " ufo videos give the de-bunkers all the ammunition they need. "Why, even small children can make a realistic video of ufo's". And that takes away from those that are authentic. Shame on you.

- akchrs, on 07/13/2009, -1/+22Everytime I go hiking I make Bigfoot footprints by taking a rock and pounding it into the dirt to form a print.
- hitdrumhard, on 07/13/2009, -0/+21That was awesome, with the help of some serendipity. The sell was it going into the clouds when it 'took off.' Probably got lucky with something blocking the reflection at just the right moment.
Sweet. - OUSooner, on 07/13/2009, -0/+21Zoom in...Zoom out...Zoom in...Zoom out...
- TheDatabit, on 07/13/2009, -0/+19I love the youtube comments on the video. All of the recent ones are "the old reflection trick" or "obviously just reflecting light" Go back a few pages to get the comments prior to that article in they all are saying "Wow that is real!" or "That is some really good CGI"
I love when people take credit for knowledge they don't actually have. - Rain12913, on 07/13/2009, -0/+18How strange, I was just about to ask if someone could copy and paste the last line of the article for me. Thanks!
- tcquad, on 07/13/2009, -0/+18A very amusing story. The video is impressive for young children, though I'm not sure how much of it was intentional versus skill-by-accident. The perfect timing with the turning of the LED to match with the cloud line ("the UFO disappearing") in a smooth, fluid motion is something most would have a hard time doing with those materials.
At the very least, they've got a good story for when they get older. Plus, between this and the Morris County debacle (a story examined and seemingly "confirmed" on UFO Hunters revealed to be a hoax, with a video of the hoaxers in action), there's some good material for both sides on the UFO debate to examine on how hoaxes start, propagate, etc. - iamacyborg, on 07/13/2009, -0/+16You ass, you're casting doubt on the credulity of all of the real Bigfoot footprints.
- wcarver, on 07/13/2009, -8/+23"And that takes away from those that are authentic. Shame on you."
Those that are authentic? Someone is off their meds. - dikky, on 07/13/2009, -3/+18there is a unique phenomenon with UFO footage. Even as cameras get better and better for cheaper and cheaper, ufo footage stays grainy and always gets filmed by heads of parkinsons support groups
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 07/13/2009, -1/+15"Why, even small children can make a realistic video of ufo's"
I think he made a point, but not the one he was hoping to make. - Wareznuke, on 07/13/2009, -1/+12That's the whole point. Buried.
- IHaveCrayons, on 07/13/2009, -0/+11You didn't even read the article...
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -2/+12They seem way too calm for just seeing a UFO...
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -0/+9Seriously I feel like I'm being fed propaganda from how this story was delivered. Who cares if it was "copied" to bunch of other paranormal sites. Isn't that what they wanted? For it to go viral?
- MetalliTooL, on 07/13/2009, -0/+8cool cgi, bro
- Eezyville, on 07/13/2009, -0/+8"Boy, was I mad. All this work by my own two sons and now all the glory, thousands and thousands of precious Internet hits, was being hijacked by some shameless YouTube pirates. Oh, the nerve! Surprising thing was, it didn't bother my sons a whole lot. As my 10-year-old said: 'Don't worry so much, Dad. It's the Internet. These things happen.' "
lol - erikwithaknotac, on 07/13/2009, -0/+8This story isn't actually about UFOs or UFO hoaxes, it's about piracy.
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -2/+9This story isn't actually about UFOs or UFO hoaxes, it's about piracy.
- ghostrc, on 07/13/2009, -0/+7Wasn't there a story last year about a guy in Colorado who recorded an alien in his window. What happened to that, wheres the footage?
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 07/13/2009, -1/+8Congrats on reading the article.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 07/13/2009, -0/+6There was a photo out but it was incredibly bad. Grainy, it was dark out and the alien looked like a rubber puppet. It just turned into another UFO meme.
- psunut5, on 07/13/2009, -0/+6Maybe they couldnt stand the constant barrage of Michael Jackson media coverage either.
- MacParrot, on 07/13/2009, -5/+11Can mickey point out the ones he knows for a "fact" are authentic? Nope because two little kids just made a pretty convincing clip. Too bad for mickey. He'll have to go back to the fake moon landing stories and govt sponsored 9/11 tales to practice his trollfu.
- stuffradio, on 07/13/2009, -2/+7There are many authentic UFO videos.
Note: UFO == "Unidentified Flying Object" && UFO !== "Extra Terrestrial Unidentified Flying Object" - inactive, on 07/13/2009, -0/+5LARRY APPROVES

If I had to guess, that's precisely why Mickey is so upset. This makes it difficult for him to believe that the "authentic" videos he had in mind actually are authentic. And if you are, in Mickey's own words, "a believer", there's nothing that upsets you more than having your faith shaken. - Ravatar, on 07/13/2009, -0/+4m4arvk, stuffradio: This mickey guy isn't talking about random UFO's, he's talking about alien spacecraft.
Look at his first two sentences: "mark, are you a believer? Apparently not." - SchmuckofNI, on 07/13/2009, -1/+5I can't believe people actually believed that was a UFO.
- stuffradio, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3Just you
- skelooth, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3Do you really need him to put an /s at the end to get the punchline?
- fragMasterFlash, on 07/13/2009, -1/+4Oh man that close encounters joke was spot on. I hope I'm having mashed potatoes for dinner tonight.
- teamgwho, on 07/13/2009, -0/+36/1 trample FTW
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -1/+4The boys voice acting was pretty convincing...in the article.
Why is this on the front page? The author blew it totally out of proportion. The video only has 15,966 views and it will have been on youtube for a whole year in about a week. That's pathetic. - Technopundit, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3I, for one, welcome our Wal-Mart Overlords.
- td001, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3yeah, what a doucher, and look he joined just so he could make that douchy comment.
(where as we need only stay in digg to make douchy comments.) - Cl1mh4224rd, on 07/13/2009, -1/+4That sentence was a predictive quote by Mickey of what UFO debunkers would say in response to any future videos of alleged UFOs. He did make the point that he was trying to make. He just doesn't realize that it is now an effective counter to UFO video evidence. He sees that as a bad thing. It means UFO "believers" have to try even harder to prove that a video is "authentic".
Oh, boo-hoo... - Cartman86, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2He shouldn't be angry, because either way he can't support his claims that UFO's are aliens. If he is simply saying that UFO's exist then okay. He is right there are plenty of unidentified flying objects. They could be a plane, bird, weather balloon, or a ton of other options before settling on alien life. The fact remains that you don't know what it is. Someone faking one still leaves you with nothing lost or gained. Your claim that it's alien life is grounded in no reality and no proof.
- getter1, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2/tinfoilhat
- felsoule79, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2It really bothers me when people say in certain cases "That's not a UFO"...... its a f******g Unidentified Flying Object....UNIDENTIFIED!!!!!
- MacParrot, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2@m3
I never said UFO's are fake, are not real, or don't carry life not from this planet. I was commenting on mickey and how upset he was over what two little kids did. Believe what you want but don't think for an instant that you can't be tricked with "evidence" that someone created in their basement. - m3arvk, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2We're supposed to believe that they were able to make the UFO disappear into the clouds while rotating in two dimensions with an LED from Wal-mart and a cheap digital camcorder? Seems to me the purpose of this is to dissuade people from considering the potential validity of video evidence.
- avatarpalin, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2I for one welcome the aliens if they become our overlords.
- iamacyborg, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2Yeah I have a video of a human female I made in Spore Creature Creator that has more views than that.
- stuffradio, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2I wonder if a kid 4 and 12 year old or whatever really cared about viral marketing, maybe they did though :P
- dazman, on 07/13/2009, -1/+3And here is a 'real' video of an alien - http://topufo.com/alienvideos/52-interview-with-an ...
