- zatch5412, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19I feel yah. I set 5 alarms, two on a clock across the room, and three on my phone in an opposite area of the room, and I still manage to get up, walk across the room, and turn them all off, without even realizing it. I slept through an exam last semester because of that nasty skill...
I also apparently have no problem sleeping through 3-4 hours of hitting snooze every five minutes. I hate myself sometimes. - nymphetamine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Wow, that puzzle one would piss me off so bad it's not even funny. I'd just end up throwing out the window or something.
- muvment256, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12what, no taser based alarm clock?
- dohidied, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11That's awesome. I'm so getting the Sonic Grenade.
- nero14, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I need to invest in one of those.
- vdog, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12It's perfect for dealing with surly teenagers.
(Whether I'm dugg up or down will depend on how many of you are teenagers.) - floridiot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Haha, I can just imagine yelling, "Fire in the hole!" and throwing it in your friends room in the morning after he's been passed out drunk. And then bar the door so they can't get out.
- Tenlow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Actually I count more than two.

And now i'm bored so i'm not going to look up the other ones. - 3dom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6lol, I have exactly the same deal. I swear whenever my alarm goes off the only thing going through my mind is to switch it off and go back to bed..house could be on fire and I'd be trying to figure a way to turn the smoke detector off
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Personally, I'm waiting for an alarm clock that continually screams "DING! FRIES ARE DONE!"
The first one on the list is pretty good though. It gets you up without driving you completely insane. - zephc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5120db? that's pretty stupid
"In air, sound pressure levels above 85 dB are considered harmful, while 95 dB is considered unsafe for prolonged periods and 120 dB causes an immediate perforation of the ear drum (tympanic membrane)." and "120 : Train horn at 1 m (3 ft). Perforation of eardrums. Many foghorns produce around this volume." ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decibel ) - Lososaurus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5You know, you think those would make a difference, you would also think putting the alarm clock across the room so you *have* to get up to turn it off would make a difference; How wrong you are....(or at least I was)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I love the grenade
- Wonderkind, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4or you could just have a couple of young kids...
- hokeywhiteboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I was in the Army for a while, and had an alarm clock that was so loud, and so grating (kind of like a car alarm), that every time it went off people who had not heard it before would go running from the lines shouting "FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!" or something similar. In the end, a really irritated NCO smashed it into tiny pieces with the butt of his rifle. Good times!
- StarCrusher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4When I get rich, I'm gonna pay a hooker to get me up in the morning.
- bsander, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Did anybody ever try an aXbo ( http://www.axbo.com/ ) alarm clock? It actually monitors your sleeping cycle and wakes you up when you're most ready for it, so you feel very refreshed and ready to get out of bed near-instantly. I was a very hard snoozer (usually for 45-60 minutes daily) but since I've got mine two weeks ago I'm waking up so much better..
Sure costs quite some €, though. - VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Does anyone else unintentionally cringe when they hear the sound of an alarm clock in a movie or TV show? Eventually you train yourself to utterly hate that sound, even if you're wake awake it almost hurts.
- nunofgs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've always wanted an alarm clock that would require me to type in a code displayed on the screen, perhaps even a small math calculation. Have yet to find one...
- 98acura, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3from soviet russia.. of course..
- floridiot2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I'll stick with my standard alarm. The one that sounds like a witch being boiled in oil. I jolt out of bed just to turn it off.
- bsander, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yes, that would motivate me to get up :o
- muvment256, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4netferret, do you smoke crack all day, or only when responding on digg?
- jamesvaughn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I prefer to wake up when I wake up.
- anagoge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3A digg to the first person to buy all ten of these and set them to all go off at once...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The grenade, it does nothing!
- Snof, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3http://duggmirror.com/offbeat_news/Top_Ten_Most_Annoying_Alarm_Clocks_3/
edit: it gave me a server error the first couple times I tried, but once I post the mirror link it decides to work just fine. - zephc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hey, in college I used to wake up to "hammer smashed face" by cannibal corpse (alarm program on my computer, near my bed). Now I wake up to much gentler music + sunlight.
- Jemulov, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I dunno If you paint #8 green you'll have a replica of one of those martians from the first Commander Keen.
- dyvbond, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Puzzle Alarm clock

out of stock though
cool list though..some of them kind of look interesting,... - bytor4232, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The Wake Me Up Rescue Pet is pretty annoying early in the morning. My daughter uses that for her alarm clock.
http://www.amazon.com/Rescue-Pets-Wake-Me-Spaniel/dp/B000EUKRR2/sr=8-1/qid=1169468171/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-6319911-1174256?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games - lazyleo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I dint know that i am sorry i am not able to go thorugh all the digg stories which come here...i found something cool and funny and i shared it..nothing more nothing less.
Regards - Aliarse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No alarm clock i've ever had has been loud enough to wake me up, im a very deep sleeper.
- lazyleo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@UBER: I know i never denied that!!!!! cant you get it straight? i know i copied i even mentioned that in the post,,,i wont be begging u to forgive me...
- crashflow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the most annoying alarm clock should be the one with wires stuck into a couple of sticks of dynamite.
- pairanoyd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Those are all kiddy crap. My friend had a short career as a truck driver (quit for heart attack) and he had a "Screaming Meanie"
http://www.roadtrucker.com/12-volt-heaters-blankets-sheets-2.htm
That SOB will split your skull it's so freaking loud. It's impossible to sleep through it, you've never heard anything so freaking aweful!
You have a problem with oversleeping and being late to work? Get one of these bad boys.. - Uber-Review, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@lazyleo
You did know, You were hot-linking every image on that post off our server. It wasn't until I left a comment on your site that you changed all images to the image shack. You even have the balls to change the comment I left on your blog to make it sound like I'm happy that you stole the story. I'm not. When people shamelessly steal other peoples stuff you could at least give a link back to the source. For your information, it was one of the administrators from Digg.com who informed me of your stealing. - airstrike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2what's really funny about this (at least for me) is that when i woke up this morning i was wondering about a watch i had seen that'd monitor my sleep to wake me up on the best moment possible. after tossing and turning a little and finally waking up and coming to the computer to read digg, i find a post about alarm clocks! i was reading through comments hoping someone would point me in the right direction so that i could look into that watch. is that the only brand that makes an ? i saw it for about $100 usd once, but i don't remember where. i can't figure out the price from the german website.. although the wristband does seem better than the watch solution. thanks anyway!
- bsander, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I read about the watch also, sounded good but in reviews I read some complaints about the sound not being loud enough when for instance you have your hand underneath your pillow or blanket and the alarm goes off. The wristband/alarm clock combination solves this. I don't know about the watch, but the clock costs €199 + shipping, so that's quite a lot. For me it's worth every cent already, though :)
- ReaperUnreal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2WTF is with the colour scheme of this website? Dark grey on black? I had to highlight the text to read it. There needs to be a "Buried as Unreadable"
Might just me this crappy monitor at work though. - Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2yeah, internal server errors are ***** annoying.
- funkytaco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Clocky was invented by an M.I.T. student. It's cool to see a cute, fuzzy version that doesn't look like p00p. :)
http://web.media.mit.edu/~nanda/projects/clocky.html - Vicken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2OOOHHHH! I can say that I own the Wake and Shake Alarm clock. This thing is VeRY loud. It'll wake you AND your neighbor up (dont worry, you can adjust the volume). And the vibrating console is strong as well. Try putting in under your pillow rather than the mattress and you will surely wake up (but keep it away from your wife :p). And as far as the flashing light....well....I never needed it.
- Klaumbaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ok, great post, but really, thin white font on a black background is hard to read.
- spravin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2record a nice nasty message (something like "U lazybone u better wake up in the next 2 minutes or else u'll regret it.....") and add the mp3 to amarok
$ sleep 8h && dcop amarok player play && sleep 2m && rm -rf ~/* - dohidied, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There was a commercial for a Tony Hawk game that had my exact alarm clock sound in it and I convulsed a little every time I watched it.
- glowboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Especially after a rough night. Hangover puzzles suck.
- ckale, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have one of these: http://www.now-zen.com/cgi-bin/orders/shop.pl, but it drove my companion nuts so we don't use it anymore.
- Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2actually the DS plugged into a load stereo is the most annoying alarm clock.
- lazyleo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2sorry but i dont know how to change that :(
