- spinchange, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19Sorry to "self-post" my own "content." This is just something that I thought should be brought to the collective attention of what remains of the die hard digg community. No ad's, No monetization, Not trying to Spam.
Bring back Chrisek, Digg - Skitzzo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15This is definitely something that needs to be fixed. Also, I would have hoped that Digg would provide at least some sort of message or email to users when they ban their account. I mean that's the least they could do right?
- richstyles, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13That totally sucks. Supernova17 got banned for heaven knows what. I got banned myself (but it was for blind digging).
If they really keep doing stuff like this they'll really go down hill. - yakobusan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I hope I don't get banned for digging this...
- chrisek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Thank you all for your support. Im back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- spinchange, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10In fairness to Digg.com, it may just be an new algo thing, but I hope Chrisek's account is brought back live, because he contributes to this community just as all of you who've taken time to submit a comment here or digg the story. My intention IS NOT to criticize Digg.com, just help bring back a friend.
Has there been an update to the TOS? (where the hell is the TOS)
...Kevin, help?
(/we want to be good little diggers) - littlebylittle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10How 'bout a warning first?
- littlebylittle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Afraid to Digg this but doing so anyway.
Digg. You don't want your loyal users afraid of you. It's just good business to avoid that. Happy clients stay with you for life. - Skitzzo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I agree, the main goal is to get Chrisek back. However, how many of these are we going to have to do? Supernova got banned for submitting an article critical to Digg. I've had submissions removed simply because Digg leadership didn't like what they were about (even though they got tons of diggs).
So I guess I'm saying, today it's Chrisek's account, tomorrow it could be mine and I think this issue needs to be addressed by digg leadership. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Suspiiiiiiiiiicious....
- philbutler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I guess that's what everyone gets for playing in the dirt. Looks to me like Digg is about ready for a cave in there has been so much digging and burying and digging and banning, sheeesh.....It is like watching a bunch of ten year olds digging a coal mine!
Chrisek is a great guy and a prolific news and story search machine. He dugg some of my stories and I will guarandamntee ya I did not pay him because I am poor! He just looked for stories, authors and blogs etc. that would allow him to find stuff more efficiently. What kind of circus act sets up a system where entities are obviously paying people to do all kinds of stuff, and then bans a person accusing him of doing what other people do?
To make matters worse, this same 3 ring circus puts in place a system where there is no accountability for hardly anything, and delegates supreme power to invisible and non-communicative Geek Wizards to oversee the operation of a billion dollar enterprise?
I feel for Chrisek, and I know how he must feel. Every story I have written in the last 3 weeks, regardless of who dugg it or when it was submitted has been buried within 1 hour of being found. I feel for the people who might have gotten something out of posts, but never had the chance because someone (to be determined) make a grand POOPAAA decision to get up every morning and bury ever-single-post-that-a-blog-gets-dugg-on. Now a top 10 digger is banned for ? Supposedly doing something even less sinister. GET REAL! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Welcome back @chrisek!!!
- richstyles, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I like the euphemism "moderator". I'd call them cocksuckrs (ala web 2.0) but...
- commonsensePR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'd like to hear what Digg has to say about this.
- Skitzzo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'd still like to hear what their excuse for this nonsense was... Notice the post has been "buried" as well?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It seems that lately they're doing everything in their power to drive away their top users. I guess the community thing is good as long as the community doesn't have any power. Personally I'm staying away till they start treating their dedicated users with some respect.
- atuuschaaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2chrisek, now that you're back...how about an update? Did you ever receive any explanation of why you were banned in the first place?
- SoldierPrime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2TOS:
http://www.digg.com/tos
and yet it's so obvious I don't think anyone looks there... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Like that's ever gonna happen
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yeah, spinchange, I think you just bought yourself a ticket to the auto-bury club. Saying that, if everyone was afraid to submit to digg in fear of their wrath...well digg would only have top 10 stories and wii articles...wait a minute...too late.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hell you top digger right of passage is getting banned at least 1 time!!! Heck I've been banned 3 times.
- chrisek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@atuuschaaw: http://swik.net/User:chrisek/Collecting+my+Thoughts/unBanning+my+account./0y4f
- SoldierPrime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Indeed there needs to be some sort of email and/or explanation, I was banned pretty much for no reason but after asking I found out why and they unbanned me, but that's another story.
- Skitzzo, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5This story will never be allowed to stay on the front page if it even makes it there... The moderators that do/don't/do/don't exist according to Kevin Rose will get it. Digg=Infallible. How dare anyone suggest otherwise?
- Skitzzo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hey, what do you know? The story's been "buried" (Read as censored by Digg Moderators/Leadership). Hurray for Digg, the Digital Democracy!
- littlebylittle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I except you to digg all of my posts from here on out.
