Thomas Edison invented the lightbulb among other things, from SCRATCH. Taking two existing things and welding them together doesn't mean anything.

On a more relevant note, I have to agree with the above said. This kid is above average, and deserves recognition for his abilities. He has done something that is impressive, but comparable to Edison? I don't think so. He has potential, but until he invents his own products (not just combining other products) I can't give him quite that much credit.
