How does the bird reach the pedals? - wrenchone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21That'll buff right out.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+20a bird? you mean an ostrich.
- antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14What was the bird doing going so fast in a Porsche?
- lesosso, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Is the bird ok?
- supremesonic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I'm guessing the bird needed tweet-ment after that collision...
Ok, that was a really bad pun. I hate myself. - Rinnt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11NSFW Warning - Just to let some of you know, you might get some NSFW pics up under the main image. Under "Random Stuff" (just below the car pic) was a small pic containing breasts...

Stupid school filters. - dpoon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Kinetic energy is 1/2 * m * v^2, so increasing the speed of the impact by 50% more than doubles the energy of the impact.
- thetanman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6So does insurance cover it if you were doing 155mph? "Uh, you see, I had my pet mouse in the cup holder, and the hawk dove down at what I can only assume was about 150mph as I was pulling our of Wendy's." Rrrrright.
- CraigJ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6This seems weird to me. I just had this happen last week on the way back from Vegas. I was going 110mph in my 350z and a bird hit my windshield dead center, just like this picture. Loud as hell, but no damage at all (to the windshield) I guess the extra 45 MPH makes the difference... I wonder if the windshield was cracked before the bird hit it?
- BigSlacker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Was it thawed or frozen?
- Captbob007, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Bird gonna be ok, Uncle Lar'?
- chubbymidget, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4If you look close you can see the "Holy ***** I'm gonna die" stain in the drivers seat.
-not that you'd want to look close. - sdphost, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Am I the only one that feels bad for the bird and not the rich guy who was driving too fast anyway?
- V3X3D, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This german driver is pretty good, usualy someone would lose control of the steering wheel in shock.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Actually, I was talking about the ***** the driver probably did in their pants...
- imnojezus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yes, the wind shield is reparable. Now all he's gotta do is figure out how to get rid of the smell of shredded bird and he's set.
- zeiben, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@Ligeia
My apologies. I fell unconscious reading your version of the joke and my face accidentally hit the mouse while it was hovering over the down digg. - BlueScreenOD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Your request for for URL: "http://www.collegehumor.com/picture:1599175" has been blocked by the Webwasher URL filter database. :( - alexace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Still not as bad as Pryce in the 77 GP.
Poor bastards... - SamiJam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Poor bird :(
- token56, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Ah reminds me of that mythbuster experiment, classic fun
- AK10, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@Ligeia
Well calling Digg users retarded is a surefire way to get your boring joke dugg up! - andrebsd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yup... because seeing that it had German plates, he was most likely on the Autobahn somewhere. So while it's considered "too fast" for you, it's considered normal for Germany.
- Sell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Well there's your problem, you got a bird stuck in the windshield. We'll have that fixed in no time."
- mark1372, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The bird may be dead, but the driver still looks like a douche driving a Porsche, ergo, bird is luckier.
- synmoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's amazing how much stuff ends up on digg that happened over a year and a half ago.
- TDR25, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If there is indeed an afterlife, that bird probably got knocked far past it's arrival point with the way it looks on that windshield. The person driving that car must've been trying to break the sound barrier with the bird being it's speed bumb! That must be an expensive repair I'm guessing!
- 3dom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1unfortunately collegehumor has porn/erotica ads all over so it sends the filters wild. you can usually presume any link from there is NSFW
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Windscreens are laminated just fine, here in the UK
- caesar0801, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1can confirm, german plate...
gotta be a god damn good driver though to get that car to a safe halt from that speed with low visibility
and probably a considerable shock, without further damage...
Gotta say that fourth pic of the chicken collapsed against the rear window is quite horrible...
I feel sorry for the bird aswell... - aeiou, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/boxster/boxster/featuresandspecs/
Base model top speed- 160 - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1***** i can see chunks of meat..
- haggie, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4The only way to get a boxster to hit 155 is to drive it off a cliff and let gravity handle the acceleration...
- Jakyll, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@CraigJ
I'm thinking the opposite, that it doesn't take that much speed to put a bird through the windshield. I've tagged a pheasant at 70mph over this past summer and it had the exact same effect as this Porsche. The difference here is that I was driving my Chevy Avalanche.
Perhaps the result is not only about how fast one is moving or how big the bird is, but also the angle the windshield, as mine is no where as shallow as a Boxster or a 350z. - AICkieran, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Yes, yes it will, it'll do about 165.
Which, you would know if you had bothered to do a google search. - xocomil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This may or may not apply, but I learned from Mythbusters that windshields are only laminated in the US. When they were testing the myth of you can keep your windshield from shattering by holding your hand to it, they noted that in Australia and most European countries windshields aren't laminated and behave more like the rear window of a vehicle. That could be why your vehicle wasn't damaged by hitting a bird at high velocity while his was. On the other hand, I could be entirely talking out my ass. You decide...
- Brocclibob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@vbr2
an ostrich is a bird... - rowlodge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1good thing it was'nt a deer..
- captainbeah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Poor Porche.
- ReaperUnreal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Poor guy, you only buy a Boxster if you can't afford a 911, and in this case I bet he's glad he didn't buy a 911, or he would've hit it at a much faster speed.
