- treelovinhippie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+68Yo Kevin, get one of Digg's developers to implement an uber simple feature that allows diggers to report the story link as "down". If enough "down" reports are submitted, the article link automatically then points to www.duggmirror.com/story_name_link
Come on! 1min of coding will save potentially hours of time (on the user's behalf), and dozens of comments with alternative links - wstrucke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+50you guys can bury me if you want, but if you look at the articles being submitted right now by this douche:
http://digg.com/users/federron/news/submitted
take a minute to mark a bunch as spam so maybe we can get his account cancelled. - forgiste, on 10/12/2007, -1/+39Of all the watermelons I've seen, this is one of them.
- borninda818, on 10/12/2007, -4/+36As the title assured.
- gamer31, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21Put a knife in its head for a fun bleeding effect.

Buried a bunch, I hate spammers...especially ones that try to abuse great free sites. Digg, myspace (eeh...), AIM bots, email. They should all die.
At least ads on webpages you can ignore, or you expect them for the content of the page. - Al3x, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15This is faster, site only has a picture and some ads.
http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/7485/tempkh0.jpg - Toon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13That watermelon could kick my ass.
- Broelke4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Neat use of the layers of skin (or whatever watermelons have).
- baxtermaddux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9"Each melon sells for 10,000 yen, equivalent to about $83. It is almost double, or even triple, that of a normal watermelon."
That mean the Average Water Melon in Japan sells for between $27 and $42?? Sweet Fancy Moses, Melons here in USA are only about 5-10 bucks. - Kazanoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8News & Videos Submitted:

Poor, Idiotic bastard. - superbonbon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I think these are more intricate and impressive. http://takashi64.hp.infoseek.co.jp/page009.html Some of the portraits are amazing.
- wstrucke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6i'm glad people agree. the only thing i hate more than people abusing the comment system is fracking spammers. this one is just ridiculous... almost one post per minute. perhaps kevin et. al. can write something to check for this sort of abuse in the future.
- treelovinhippie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7@wstrucke ... reported a couple as SPAM too. Plus sent a quick email to Digg about it (and another about what I've said above). Hopefully the Digg Gods still read our emails :)
- baxtermaddux, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Cubed Watermelons are the leading cause of Square turds

make sure to mention his user name in the subject, and the submitted link into the message too

- Domza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@treelovinhippie:
This coming from someone who comments on digg... :p - amk29j, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3*phew* I was so relieved that this wasn't the bajillion year old story about the cubed watermelon in Japan, which is what I thought it was when I read the title. That is AMAZING, btw.
- Cyrusman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That's what Donald Sutherland looks like with no skin.
- thydzik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3very cool, thought is was just going to look similar to a pumpkin carving
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hmm....I think it's an old man...with a beard and mustache.
- Al3x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3http://www.neatorama.com.nyud.net:8080/2006/12/24/watermelon-head/
- icepick314, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4that's too scare to eat...looks like it'll eat you instead...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/1390088.stm - Vladamir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2One Word: If I ever see another ***** "fake" comment again I swear i'm going to go ballistic!!!
oops. that wasn't quite one word. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is actually THAI fruit carving. Quite common in Thailand.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why do I have a feeling that I want to bite into its head?
- jizzxcore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anyone know what the carving is supposed to be?
Santa Claus? - 7ate9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I never thought of watermelons as being things that could be carved... kudos to its creator.
- quami16, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's a pretty easy title to claim for me as i haven't really come across a ton of watermelons that i would consider 'cool'.
But i think even if i had this one would still win. - superbonbon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"wow, some people have way too much spare time"
yes I agree, however this idle time can be very lucrative. Each watermelon takes about 60-90 minutes to carve and can net the carver a few hundred dollars! - trib4lmaniac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Are you not going to give us a link? I can't find anything with a search for "square watermelon."
Edit: Got it! http://digg.com/offbeat_news/Square_watermelons_are_the_new_round_watermelons - ArthurSucks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just in case:
http://www.neatorama.com.nyud.net:8080/2006/12/24/watermelon-head/ - kavaliro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's cool, but not as cool as the square watermelons they sell in Japan. They grow them in the holes of cinderblocks.
- davidjunit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks almost like one of those heads from Spirited Away:
http://www.stomptokyo.com/img-m6/spirited-away-c.jpg - cutlerite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think it is a Japanese Daruma:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daruma - plester1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I believe it's supposed to be the head of a daruma, the Japanese name for the Buddhist figure Bodhidharma.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daruma - cutlerite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you're right, its a Daruma, They're very traditional in Japan.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daruma - gd007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nice! I would hate cut it to pieces.
- authuser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i want to wear it on my head!
- DooDooFace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Fake?
