- Jugalator, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6He's on Digg, an English website. The city is neither in the US, nor UK. You fail the analogy.

- bazery, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4They should change the "F" in "MIDDLEFART" to an "E" and add a "H" at the end

- tarynme, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6I grew up about 5 miles from Spread Eagle, Wisconsin - and it never hit me as something funny until I started applying for jobs. Apparently, reading that I waitressed in Spread Eagle for four years entices chuckles from potential employers.

- pelman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3On a recent trip in Wisconsin,USA I saw a city called Dyckesville.
http://www.hometownlocator.com/City/Dyckesville-Wisconsin.cfm - expert01, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3"Toad-licking was the topic of the Family Guy episode "Let's Go to the Hop," and was also mentioned in The Simpsons episode "Missionary: Impossible." Homer Simpson can often be seen licking Toads in numerous episodes of The Simpsons."
- isakn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Excactly. In danish it just means middle speed.
And well, a couple a miles from Middelfart is Strib, which is pronounced like strip.. Oh, and I actually live there.. :) - kevma, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3No there's not... and what you wrote looks nothing like the Maori language :P
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waikikamukau - capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Place_names_with_English_meanings
- ZebraCrew, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yeah Twatt was the funny part in that one. It only sounds like ***** because of their accents.

They voted against it, preferring instead to put up with international ridicule, numerous stolen road-signs and horrific Google results."
lol - newbis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2There's a town called Kanorado... Its between Kansas and Colorado (if you're checking a map its just north of I-70). Who'd have guessed?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2dont be stupid - no one on digg ever thinks to check if they're submitting a duplicate!
- Urusai, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Is that next to Gobbler's Knob?
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2http://www.erowid.org/animals/toads/toads.shtml
- WoollyMittens, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5I would add the hopeless spanish town-name of Peniscola.
http://www.google.com/search?q=peniscola&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a - chrispen, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3There is also a Knob Lick, MO.
How they missed out on that one I'm not sure - Exodin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2This post is coming at you live, only miles away from Gaylordsville, CT
- kevma, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Whakapapa - In Maori - the A's are also pronounced closer to an 'O'... Maybe it's the fact that being in New Zealand I've been bought up with the language - but it's not that bad a name :P
But hey.. I won't get defensive that'd be silly.. - ObiBenKenobi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2No mianus, CT?
- jtmOBX, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Been to ***** Austria and theres not a whole lot in the ***** Town... Worth the road trip from Salzburg just for the laugh.
http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2005/09/02/1125302734420.html - Kanundra, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I used to work in Cockeysville, MD and hated when people asked where I worked. It never seems to make these lists though.
- monkeytom888, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Theres some funny street names in the UK too, I remember seeing 'Prince Wales Passage'.... well I didnt actually see the Prince Wales's Passage (thankfully), just a road name sign saying that :o)
- GeneralGore, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I think that Hicksville should have been on that list.
- supaneko, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Actually, Hell, Michigan has only two buildings in it and would probably take you no more than a minute to walk all the way through.
Neat place with only two buildings, one of which has a post office that will let you send your mail with a customer Hell, Michigan postmark. :) - kellydorrance, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2i'm from missouri near small town, beulah, near another small town, licking.
the "licking beulah" mileage sign always makes me giggle. - nozol03, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I live in Mid-Michigan, and 'Hell' really is no big deal.... seems like most people just laugh about it, even though it really only is funny for a minute. Oddly enough, my best friend works over @ Halfmoon Lake, and I only live about 20 minutes from Hell. There are some little bars that feed off of the name.... like the "Damn Site Inn". What's really good is riding your motorcycle down D-19.... that's the highway that leads into Hell. You got it, D-19 is the "Highway to Hell".
- crocodilexp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Actually, the Thai name of the city is "Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit".
It's the stupid foreigners that cannot remember this simple little name, and insist on calling it Bangkok (name obsolete in Thai for about 200 years).
As for the prostitution, guess who's the one being envious?
All this said, "Chicago" means "uncle naked" in Croatian... so what? Foreign names don't count. -
