- Bara, on 10/10/2007, -4/+69Seriously dude, you turned a fun little topic into a political bashing in less than 4 diggs. Must be some kind of record. Grow the ***** up.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+48Add another to the list: The 1957 Swiss Spaghetti Harvest

- euphemizeme, on 10/10/2007, -1/+36How long were you waiting for a story about hoaxes to come along so you could drop that gem on us?
- brucerchapman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+30As someone who spent endless hours debugging and testing non-compliant code for the y2k changeover, I'd like to inform you that it indeed was no hoax. The media blew it out of all proportion and some people fanned the flames to drive prices of consulting work up, but there would have been many problems had an army of programmers not been mobilised. It wasn't a hoax at all. Ironically the large-scale movement of y2k work to India ushered in today's climate of outsourcing, and the disaster recovery drills and preparations enabled firms with total systems loss on Sep 11 2001 to recover much better than they otherwise would have.
- Koldkompress, on 10/10/2007, -3/+309/11 WAS A CONSPIRACY, OSAMA BIN LADEN IS ACTUALLY DR ROBOTNIK, THE TWO TOWERS WERE A COVER-UP SO HE COULD KILL THE ANIMAL HIDDEN UNDERGROUND TO POWER HIS EVIL ROBOT ARMY
- SheilaNoya, on 10/10/2007, -14/+37The biggest hoax is how the Republican party somehow convinved Christians that the bible actually supports the following:
- War is good
- Caring about the environment is bad
- You should ignore the poor, the hungry and the sick
- Money is more important than human life and/or dignity
- Bearing false witness against your neighbor is OK
- Telling the truth is NOT important
- Anyone who does not vote Republican is not a good Christian
etc. - Zarokima, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21It was a sound stage on Mars.
- cruzlee, on 10/10/2007, -6/+26Ah "Christ". Yes. sn't that the greatest hoax of all time? He was conceived by a virgin, God, Son of God, creator of the universe and died because people hated him, but not invain, but instead of you for sins that his father invented. Let me tell you, if you get people to believe that, you beat any female pope.
- macaca, on 10/10/2007, -6/+26# 11 should be WMD.
- kingkilr, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20***** Y2K, in 2030 we really are *****.
- tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -5/+23I knew it! I came in here just knowing that someone would say it. *****! This is what's wrong with Digg.
- LucasVB, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16In case you're wondering: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_2038_problem
- Urusai, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15Popes used to do it all the time. In fact, they were quite promiscuous. The obvious hypocrisy of the clergy was part of the reason why Protestantism came about.
- Davede70, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17Ohh man that video made my morning. I was laughing my ass off. I love how they point out how there should be damage to the building because of the wings of the plane. LOL. They've watched a little too many Bugs Bunny cartoons. I hope you know when giant things crash into other giant things they don't leave an imprint like bugs breaking through a wall you moron.
I also love how they don't mention all the eyewitness accounts of the plane crashing into the Pentagon.
''I thought, 'This isn't really happening. That is a big plane.' Then I saw the faces of some of the passengers on board,'' Cissell said. (think of having that memory in your head for years. seeing the faces of the people who died on that day.
Here is a link to a bunch of eyewitness accounts of the plane crashing into the building. But I am sure the government just paid these people off to SAY they saw a plane crashing. http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/911_pentagon_eyewitnesses.html
Keep on believing your little theories you idiot. It doesn't make you smarter to believe this crap like you want it to, it just makes you look like a friggin clown. - LucasVB, on 10/10/2007, -4/+19Because it says "hoaxes", not "human achievements".
- tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -4/+19LOL ALSO THEY DONT MENTION HOW BUSHCO HOAXED PPL INTO IRAQ LOL!
// Seriously, why can't we just enjoy this story about funny stuff instead of making it a big political, religious issue? - gwhardyiv, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13The Tasaday should be in the top 5.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tasaday - tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15It was a taxidermy foot some pranksters used. That line confused me too.
- tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12"The debate on whether the autopsied body is a very realistic mannequin, a girl with a genetic disorder (such as progeria or Turner's syndrome), or a real alien is still going on." Dear god, let it be the first option...
- Niddik, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1211. Top ten lists
- brucerchapman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Missing is the 'Vinland Viking Map' that 'proved' that Vikings were the first to reach North America. Whilst subsequent archaelogical sites have proven this to be true, the map is a very clever forgery, and Yale paid millions for it.
- Tippis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Bah, no worries. The world will end in 2012 anyway ;)
- terminalpariah, on 10/10/2007, -2/+109/11 was NOT an inside job, you idiots. It was outsourced.
- frogman54, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9What about Milli Vanilli? That broke my heart.
- filefly, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Hey Farva, what's the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy ***** on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?
- noodhoog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Any particular reason you single this one out?
I may be jumping the gun here, but knowing digg, it kind of sounds like you're implying this is some kind of great argument against evolution. If I'm right in that assumption then you have a LOT of homework to do... you might want to start with www.talkorigins.org - and if I'm wrong, then please accept my apologies and disregard this comment. - brucerchapman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6It may surprise you that it was based on a real event, a woman who declared that Dingo stole her baby after it went missing in the Northern Territory. It's not just a Meryl Streep movie. If you ever want to start an argument amongst Australians, here's the cue: "Lindy Chamberlain : innocent or guilty?"
My vote : guilty. - WaterDragon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6The Haggis is a little furry creature that only comes out at night.
- rootstyle, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7and I believe in the easter bunny and santa :)
- smackywentz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Shenanigans? You're talkin bout Shenanigans right?
- futureisours, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Dugg just for the Idaho story. Maybe it explains recent f'ed up events there! Also, add the face on mars.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Define Macro-Evolution. It is not a scientific term.
Give me a scientific evidence based alternative to Evolutionary Theory. - quami16, on 10/10/2007, -4/+10I think I'm over top 10 lists. If I need one, I'll watch Letterman.
- Koldkompress, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6It was plagiarized from satirical pamphlets.
- SimianSamurai, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I swear to God I'm going to pistol whip the next person who says Shenanigans
- brsteve88, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Actually it's true. I'm Catholic, but I can admit that back in the day, the Catholic Church sucked as bad as anything.
- noodhoog, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6"abundant evidence to support"
Such as.....? - Koldkompress, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Oh ***** off, it's not an insult to anyones memory. It's some people with a lot of imagination and a lot of spare time.
- WaterDragon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4And don't forget Paul McCartney's death, right around the time the White Album came out.
- Yage2006, on 10/10/2007, -19/+23They forgot to mention creationism and the bible .
And its another damn top 10 list
/Auto Buried - gnick, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Or the notion that the earth is round?
Or evolution? Or that 9/11 was orchestrated by a conspiracy of Muslim extremists? Or that Pearl Harbor was a well-orchestrated attack by Japanese attackers?
etc... - Indyanna, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5lol - thank you!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7Wikipedia is NEVER mistaken. /Sarcasm
- smackywentz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Or begin. We really don't know do we? :)
- noodhoog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Nah, above poster is entirely correct.
Macro evolution IS a hoax. After all, it's a creationism term, and if anything is a hoax it's creationism.. therefore, it's fair to say that macro evolution is a hoax. - Frnnkdlxx, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I can't believe you'd say something as ignorant as that.
