- Error601, on 10/11/2007, -3/+44And I thought this was going to be about classic Nissans.
- ilkeryoldas, on 10/11/2007, -5/+45m0b1u5: for nest time, STFU!!
- msaleem, on 10/11/2007, -2/+30Jeez thanks. That attitude will make you a lot of friends.
I personally prefer Russian where you can omit the articles and word-order doesn't matter. - falcooonpunch, on 10/11/2007, -6/+28Pittsburgh but no San Francisco? Buried as inaccurate :P
- disposition0010, on 10/11/2007, -4/+23Chicago FTW. Never been to Hong Kong, but I am sure it is just as nice.
- cbags, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18Funny, for someone that is correcting another, one would think he would have SPELL CHECKED his own comment!
- TexanRudeBoy, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17Actually, the "in the world" is required. One could assume from the title that they are the most beautiful inthe US or North America etc. Basically, don't be such a smug jackass.
- newfoundnoise82, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16as a resident of so cal i dugg your comment, we suck.
- thinkingserious, on 10/11/2007, -5/+20Where is La La land? Oh I forgot, too smoggy to take a good pic :p
- ngonzales80, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13Here's a night shot of NYC that I took several days ago.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/78585905@N00/698320803/ - shackleton1, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12This seems all wrong to me. Skyscrapers are kind of pretty when lit up, but to even include 1 skyscraper city as "most beautiful skyline"; let alone have all the entries be skyscrapers - seems to me to be rather strange. Like as if the submitter isn't aware of cities that don't have skyscrapers. For example, Oxford, known as the "City of the Dreaming Spires". Here's a couple of pictures:
http://www.aurpo.org/Photos/ColSpires.jpg
http://www.oxfordcivicsoc.org.uk/pics/cards_christmas/2000_holywell.jpg
and that's just one example. There are probably a half a dozen other amazing skylines in the UK alone, and dozens worldwide.
But the submitter plumps for the skyscrapers??! - Dan005, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Vancouver, BC definitely deserves to be there..

- LxRogue, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11Eh, its not just the smog. Our downtown is just kinda lame.
Now if this was the top 18 freeway interchages we would be right up there. ;) - DeskFlyer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Dugg simply for being an entire 'Top xx" list that is contained on one page.
- damndj, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6NYC just isn't the same without the World Trade Center. :(
- luke16, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8Im in Hong Kong right now =) IFC building ftw!!!!
- semeticstallion, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7As a Pittsburgher, let me tell you that had we not made this list, there'd be riots in the streets over it. It's pretty much the only thing we got left as a defining point.
- esperoboy, on 10/11/2007, -4/+10Where is San Francisco????
- 22justin, on 10/11/2007, -4/+10No Vancouver!?!
dugg down as inaccurate - anillop, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6But in Chicago our buildings are actually occupied unlike Dubai. It amazes me how much skyscraper development is still going on in Chicago. Within one more year the new Trump Tower should be completed and a real noticeable addition to the skyline. If the Chicago Spire is approved by the city that will be the largest building in Chicago.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8Oh hells yes. Representing Chicago at #2. Take that New York and L.A.
- UltimateFerg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5"For nest time"... that comment is definitely "remarkably stupid" but really isn't "terse" or "powerful". Hey, at least he kind of gets the idea...
Nice digg msaleem - Error601, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6I think Hong Kong is one of the most photogenic skylines I've ever seen. I was in San Francisco not too long ago and thought it had a nice skyline but could never get a good picture. I think it's just too spread out.
- randomhero, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6T Dot, best city ever
- Arpowers, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I think San Diego belongs to the list..
- Wildren, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I don't really agree with the order of the list, but they're all still beautiful.
- davin510, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8That's a ***** pic of HK. It's definitely best at night and from the bridge leading to the city, not from the mountain-top.
http://www.ifa.hawaii.edu/~hsieh/photos/hongkong/hk-pan-night-skyline1_s.jpg - Dayyve, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4OGTL ---- Hot damn I swear I can almost smell being there. That smell of the outdoors is so beautiful, then I get back in Chicago and can actually 'taste' the air. It's disgusting, one of the draw backs of living in the city. But when you walk through down-town Chicago and look up you are just in awe of the massive structures that man has been able to build. I used to work downtown at a Banana Republic and would ride my bike to/from work and I loved riding through downtown at night-time in the spring-summer-fall (winter blows here!!) There are advantages and disadvantages to most by I always tend to side on nature's side over man's.
- jm1234567890, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Yay Sydney!
- DaveRocks, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4No, you guys still wear Steelers jerseys year round, and regardless to what type of sporting event your at.
- 0mnio, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Glad to see Pittsburgh on the list. I have lived in Santa Fe, San Fran, Miami and I still keep coming back to the burgh (4th time). It is a great skyline. A great city. I have an acre of land, deer, a hawk and a private fire pit and can be downtown in 10 min. I paid 174k for my house (4 bedroom 3 bath cottage) and it feels like I am in the middle of nowhere. There is no place like it for the money (real estate) . There is a great art scene and since Carnegie Mellon is here we are totally and utterly wired.
- kplo, on 04/01/2009, -3/+7Dallas? Really?
- mrASSMAN, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Seattle. Well, not the ocean, but the Puget Sound.
On a clear day, mountains surround the city (cascades and rockies), and Mount Rainier appears as the largest skyscraper of all. - palmer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4What these articles always fail to point out is that the Sears Tower is still, in effect, the tallest building. The Petronas Towers added an ornamental spire to barely exceed the Sears, and now we have Taipei 101 with a spire masquerading as a "floor" to cheat once again. Look at any diagram, and the lameness of these pretenders is pretty evident: http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0001338.html
- Godlesswanderer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4We don't have much of a skyline, most of our buildings aren't very high sadly.
- rajulkabir, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Are you retarded? It's on the list.
- Albionshores, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4That's seriously beautiful.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Edinburgh truly is unique and deserves a mention here.
- watership, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Wooo! Toronto. But i have to correct the article.
"CN Tower, which is often referred to as the tallest free-standing structure in the world. While mostly untrue (because there are taller TV masts in the world),"
Yes, there are taller TV masts but they are wire/cable supported. That's why the CN Tower is called the tallest "Free Standing" Structure in the world. Look Ma, no wires. - dongiaconia, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Agreed: No SF, No digg! If you can somehow work a shot from the north east that gets the Golden Gate bridge, Alcatraz and the skyline that's gotta give most of these cities a run for their money! (I may be biased since I work across from the city in Tiburon.) ...I do agree that Hong Kong takes the #1 spot. There's nothing like the HK skyline at night as seen from Kowloon.
- ancheng, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I agree vancouver should be up there. It doesn't have as many super skyscrapers, but it very beautiful. I've been to almost all of the places on the list, but one of the most beautiful I've seen is Chongqing. On a pininsula, between 3 rivers.
http://www.wcccc.ca/cq_night.jpg - thatsmyaibo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I'm from LA. It was to the comment above yours. Your comment was just fine in my book, I just don't know how people can be so hating towards a city...
- Prodigy921, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2huzzah for Carnegie Mellon!
- ptFoe, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Of course he is retarded, he is a bloody Australian.
Probably related to Pauline Hanson. - ptFoe, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Singapore & Dubai Skylines are dull.
Vancouver is beautiful with the mountains in the back. - schmik07, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=san+francisco&ie=UTF8&ll=39.470125,-122.431641&spn=15.281073,26.455078&z=5&om=1
- Hangender, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2What about Iraq man? All those AK-47 firefights and flares is gotta be worth something.
- TexanRudeBoy, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Dallas has a nice skyline, too bad you can't get over the stench the city reeks of to enjoy it.
- gothicform, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6No london?
