- diggspirit, on 01/13/2009, -1/+195that was "hilarious" .... "really" funny
- darkchild82, on 01/13/2009, -13/+112NOTE: When I tried to submit the url to the site, I got this post: http://digg.com/comedy/The_Blog_of_Unnecessary_Quo ... but it was made 27 days and didn't get too many diggs. So I submitted the site by adding '#1' at the end of the url. I also searched to see if this had hit the front page before, which it hadn't.
So for all those who are going to scream "old"* on this submission, "screw"** you. - ryan83189, on 01/13/2009, -1/+88Next apostrophe's
- ChromaVita, on 01/14/2009, -1/+68The most disconcerting one I've seen was:
Employees must "wash hands" before returning to work. - darkchild82, on 01/13/2009, -2/+42*right usage
**I'm expecting a lot of comments with the wrong usage so I thought I'd get one in myself - NathanielJ, on 01/14/2009, -0/+38You're missing "something" alright.

+1 internets to the man woman or child who can find a clip of doctor evil and his air quoting "Laser". - konartis, on 01/14/2009, -2/+27I hate seeing CD's, PC's, TV's, etc. It just ticks me off. :-)
- p2pblog, on 01/13/2009, -2/+23That's awesome. A McD in my neighbourhood once had a sign that read
'Tuesday Only: "Chicken McNuggets" $ x.99'
That's kind of how I always felt about "Chicken McNuggets" - JohnnyKdiggs, on 01/14/2009, -11/+31I submitted this page on October 20th, 85 days ago. Guess how many diggs it got. Guess. 1.
http://digg.com/odd_stuff/The_Blog_of_Unnecessary_ ...
Granted, it seems I was not the first to submit it either (which I didn't know at the time). But how did darkchild82 manage to get 160 diggs in 11 hours, when I couldn't get even one in 85 days? Did the blog really improve THAT much in three months?
MRBABYMAN TRUTH NOW!!!...or something. - po43292, on 01/14/2009, -1/+20Nice work, "detective".

- BenKenobi88, on 01/14/2009, -0/+12Actually johnbjuice, that's wrong. It's technically incorrect to put apostrophes after abbreviations. It's become common practice nearly to the point where we might as well change the rules, but it is wrong. Many people put an apostrophe after single letters, like A's, but in modern times I think it's more proper to put them in quotes, like "A"s, for single letters anyway. You don't write 1980's, you write 1980s.
And yeah, I looked it up to make sure. Most sites say your way is common, but generally regarded as incorrect. - chesterjosiah, on 01/14/2009, -1/+13Antediluvian.

Dr. Evil doing the air quotes. Plus, they also have the mad scientist from Austin Powers doing it as well. - inactive, on 01/14/2009, -0/+5I hate unnecessary quote marks! As Strunk & White said, "If you use a colloquialism or a slang word or phrase, simply use it; do not draw attention to it by enclosing it in quotation marks. To do so is to put on airs, as though you were inviting the reader to join you in a select society of those who know better." Use them for quotations, nothing more.

- jaytek13, on 01/14/2009, -0/+4Quotation marks in the US are often used to denote sarcasm. Reading those words in a sarcastic manner can change their meaning, but it is also replacing one failing of proper punctuation use for another.
I'm "completely" serious. Seriously. - onederboy, on 01/14/2009, -0/+4I "really enjoyed" your comment.
- udayd, on 01/14/2009, -0/+4it made you laugh "to" what?
