Somebody had to say it. - maxyRO, on 06/30/2008, -2/+19The dream of every avid hunter
- inactive, on 07/01/2008, -0/+15That's probably the horniest museum I've seen in a while
- Rotzooi, on 07/01/2008, -0/+12I expected more pictures of say, a reasonably sized wall with a fair number of antlers.
- electrosheep, on 07/01/2008, -0/+11Every deer's worst nightmare.
- SillyRabbits, on 07/01/2008, -2/+10Not to be ho-hum about it, but I've seen larger collections at a number of different lodges. I can almost guarantee that it doesn't have the highest number of antlers per square meter.
- Zabbawack, on 07/01/2008, -0/+6http://artfiles.art.com/images/-/Antler-Arch-into- ...
This is the most iv seen, there are four of these in the square and they pick them off the ground from the elk shedding them.
Its in Jackson Hole, WY - inactive, on 07/01/2008, -1/+7Looks good from afar.. But it's not a genuine castle, but rather a complex of buildings that incorporate architectural styles from the Middle Ages to the Baroque period.
- sonordrums135, on 07/01/2008, -0/+6"t was built initially from cardboard..."
Huh? - daimposter, on 07/01/2008, -0/+5this topic makes me horn-y.
*purposely lame attempt at a pun* - jasonnazar, on 07/01/2008, -6/+11why doesn't it surprise me that this is the main tourist attraction in budapest
- Wakkyweed, on 07/01/2008, -2/+7Eh, I didn't think it was all that impressive. Now if you could find me a house with hundreds of stuffed human heads on the walls, that would be worth writing about.
- VeritasAequitas, on 07/01/2008, -0/+5I'm an avid hunter, and it's not my dream. Though I prefer birds, Ducks, Geese, Pheasant, Grouse, and even then I don't have to stuff em and stick em all on the wall, I prefer them in my belly :)
- bosssmiley, on 07/01/2008, -1/+6"Magyar HAET deer!"
- fulibs, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4I am disappointed, I was expecting a wall made of antlers....
- wheresjim, on 07/01/2008, -1/+5"My, what a lovely room of death...."
- schlongmeister, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4"...legend has it that if you touch his pen, you will receive a dash of good luck."
At least, that's what he told the ladies. - thebza451, on 07/01/2008, -1/+5that wasn't as impressive as i thought it would have been
- ChaosProfessor, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3because there are 3 hunters in the family my dad has been hunting for 30 years i have been hunting for a decade and my brother has been hunting for about 6 years plus sheds etc
- RaisingSpirits, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3I'm pretty sure that they're wrong about this place having the most antlers per square meter... check out this guy's collection... it's insane how many antlers he's collected... I'd say he blows that place out of the water.

http://www.antlerman.com/roomtourpage5.html - seanmx, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3I would have thought that the biggest wall would be at Larry the Cable Guy's house...
- consoneo, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3Agreed. There is a museum in San Antonio Texas called the Buckhorn Saloon & Museum. When I went there it seemed like it had a lot more antlers in a lot less space than that place (Thus giving it a higher "Antlers per meter" rating).
- zrcochran, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3Dugg for Hungary and the Anonymous statue. Wish I could go back...
- Inorix, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3It is not. You know, we have a lot of beautiful stuff in this city, and a lot of those does not involve killing animals.
- inactive, on 07/01/2008, -1/+4this was exactly my first thought
- calenerd, on 07/01/2008, -1/+3um it didnt shock me?
- Merendino, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2The bane of every PETA member
- djAnakin, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2"This is a lovely room of death." declared Ace. "Take care then. Bye bye, now!"
- BufordT, on 07/01/2008, -1/+3"Rest assured, most of the antlers do not come just from hunted animals: a proportion of the antlers come from stags who died natural deaths."
Yes, because I would lose so much sleep over the thought that someone actually hunted them. What a joke. Also, they could have used more than one small, hard to see picture of the racks. - RaisingSpirits, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2I'm calling ***** on this! Upon further inspection I think that the author of this article made this fact up as there is no mention of having the most antlers per square meter on the museum's own website. If that was in fact true and something they were proud of I'd imagine they'd have that listed prominently in the permanent attractions section of the site. Just in case it wasn't an actual part of the museum I've done some searching on the Vajdahunyad Castle itself and have not seen any other sites listing this as a claim to fame. I found pictures of it and articles about it but nothing so bold as to make that claim. Furthermore, that article appears to be ripped largely from this one.... http://curiousexpeditions.org/?p=335
It does appear to be a nice collection and the fact that it's in a castle is cool and all... but I think it's a ***** claim. - ninjadave, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2I love the statue at the end. Something about it screams 'badass'
- sodade, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2Agreed. I have seen actual "walls" made from a massive jumble of antlers.
- Rotzooi, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2why would you have that many antlers?
- screamingjoker, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2Great place for a Jagermeister-fest.
- bosssmiley, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2You mean like Castle Howard, or Windsor Castle, or Edinburgh Castle? ;-)
- petemcfraser, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1Actually, it's Afton, WY., that's the largest. http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/3240
1 hour south of Jackson Hole. - ChaosProfessor, on 07/01/2008, -1/+2***** we have 25 or 30 sets in our garage i think we win
- johndavidjack, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1Those are mainly elk, but dugg...
- cambob76, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1"Napoleon, like anyone could even know that."
- Rotzooi, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1I really hope you guys eat the animals; I've hunted for food for years, but shooting just for trophies is something I find repulsive.
- spook4thecia, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1I seewhat you did there.
- KingGorilla, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1or hobo

- lioneljaffry, on 07/01/2008, -2/+1This is what ass holes with no imagination did before there was digg. kill kill kill. Now it's troll troll troll.
- damonic, on 07/01/2008, -2/+1My Necromancer in Diablo II could make these....
- feshmania, on 07/01/2008, -6/+4i think we should all be worried that there are a "number of different lodges" where the aim is to out-redneck other lodges
- hutectro, on 07/01/2008, -9/+1I wonder how many deer died for that wall.
- DickMasterson2, on 07/01/2008, -10/+3FIRST!!!
