- Samohtneas, on 04/30/2008, -0/+7Blocked at our campus for being "Tasteless". Just what the *****?
Regardless, it's very fascinating from what I can see in the rather large thumbnail. - fr34k5h0w, on 04/30/2008, -0/+5If you ever are in Nebraska and have kids you should go to the Edgerton Explorit Center in Aurora (central Nebraska). They have different experiments that you can run involving strobe lights and other phenomena. It's pretty cool as a kid since you get to watch the water drop experiment and how strobe lights affect motion.

- psiaii, on 04/30/2008, -0/+3After this pictures, we can understand how "long" took a full second in atomic era.
- Kronos6948, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2Yeah man...too bad it'd only be at dinner time. Imagine how long your wait for supper would seem at a restaurant? ;D
- Grimdotdotdot, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2Holy *******.
- eric0213, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2I grew up a few miles away from the Edgerton Center in Aurora, Ne. Had some very cool exhibits like a booth that would take your photo the moment you popped a balloon.
- Brasky, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2Every day I walk through our EE department with tons of pictures of his work. For nerds hes probably our most famous alum. There is a whole museum dedicated to him in his hometown. 4th grade field trip!
- inactive, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2oh those bursts are the most incredible things. other than this wee bit of crust and stuff, our planet is mostly made up of pretty much that...
- Bizarrkley, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2DELETE!
(please digg this down as I can't seem to figure out how to cancel an accidental posting) - HouseofEl, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2Cool yes, but do we really need this to hit the front page again? This is one of those posts that pops up every 3 months or so. This was a dupe 3 years ago.
- graemee, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2They had a great Nova show on him in the 90's, IIRC. I still remember the strobe and atomic photography segments.
- Elohir, on 04/30/2008, -1/+2Tetsuoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
- Schmidtopolis, on 04/30/2008, -1/+2Ah-Ki-Rah???
- walom, on 04/30/2008, -1/+2That would be an awesome supper power; to be able to see things in slow motion. You'd see crazy stuff like this all the time.
- rshnrocket85, on 05/01/2008, -0/+1HouseofEl is completely correct this story is a dupe. Please follow the link to see the original, plus the pics are bigger. http://www.nevadasurveyor.com/atomicbomb/ Sorry, this did not show up on the list, so I thought it was "Totally Original."
- greenlight2001, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Supper power is a power I require my girlfriends to have, because being able to make me dinner is critical to the success of our relationship.
- digdugsmug, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Around 25:30 of this video there is a section about Edgerton's work. Pretty interesting.

... probably closer to three seconds - johnn11238, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Not to be confused with "power supper", where you have important business contacts over for a nice meal after work...
- r3s0p, on 04/30/2008, -0/+0I thought for sure 2 seconds with Google would unearth a complete Edgerton gallery for all to see. No such luck.
Anyone have a link? - TommyGuns, on 04/30/2008, -3/+1I like things that go bang!
